Best Buy

Possibly one of the best customer service experiences I have had in a while. The staff was knowledgeable and even though there was a stock issue with the item I wanted, they went above and beyond to help me. Exceptional service, very happy.

Terrible customer service. I was on hold for an additional 10 minutes AFTER they had already hung up on me once and transferred me to the WONG department. All I wanted to do was make an appointment to install automatic start on my vehicle. Total wait time to successfully make an appointment: 45 minutes.
TERRIBLE.

These guys are trained VERY WELL in their merchandise. Even though I bought (Dec.2015) my wireless speakers from Office Max (next door) today, I will come back here and get the wireless printer. Mainly because I bought a $ 400 Dell (CORE i3) laptop from this Best Buy last year and hasn’t failed me since. They’ve got great quality NEW phones (& plans) that compete very well with the surrounding competition. Plus Office Max doesn’t come close to offering a variety of printers at a price you can’t pass up.

I haven’t been here in years but wanted a lightening charge cable; I was so nervous about being overwhelmed.
I arrived at opening and was promptly greeted.
I was overwhelmed and the signing was too vague.
Thankfully there was a display of chargers near the door.
I found what I wanted and proceeded to check out. The origin of the line at check out was also vague, although there was staff ready to handle my transaction.
Overall, my experience went better than I expected. It would be even better if Best Buy work on signage.

This place is absolutely horrible in terms of customer service. A couple years ago it was one of the best stores around in terms of customer service, but now it is a complete joke. The staff are rude and their online ordering pick up sucks. I went in to pick up something that I’d ordered online and when I asked about it the person at the register said they would go get it, came back a moment later, asked my name again and then disappeared never to be seen again. Another worker walked up to me and acted as if my being there was offensive, treated me like I was there stealing something, and was very condescending with me trying to explain the online process to me in a way that I’ve never heard of before in all of my dealings with them. The person then proceeded to tell me that they didn’t know how long it was going to take for me to pick up my order even though I’d placed it almost two hours earlier and when I asked what time the order was going to be finished mind you it was only for a DVD the man working there who never really identified himself as if he was a manager or just a worker told me he had no idea how long it was going to take it if I wanted to I could stick around but again it was probably going to take awhile to get the DVD. Needless to say after being met by that kind of attitude I was quite appauled by the store and the manner in which I was treated. Instead of sticking around to wait for a couple more hours for them to get around to filling my order which really could have taken about a minute and a half to walk and get the DVD, I promptly left the store, went online and changed pickup locations to another Best Buy in the area that not only was able to get my purchase right away, but customer service was extremely nice, very friendly and welcoming. After this experience I would never go back to the store again. There are plenty of Best Buy stores in the area where the workers actually treat you like a decent human being instead of acting like you’re an annoyance so therefore I have no interest in the store. The part that bothers me as well about this experience is that when we were there, there were absolutely no other customers so it wasn’t like they were busy they just did not want to deal with me because they decided I was not important enough as a customer to be dealt with which is a shame because no customer service should be like that.

Came here to buy a Samsung Smart Refrigerator.
While I went to the Madison Heights Best Buy and see if they can price match it at a price that the fridge was before ($ 2499) now its ($ 2899) the rude manager at that Best Buy told me she cant do it and any other store wouldn’t do it. I ended up calling this store (was actually here before to look at it) and got transferred to Trevor in the Appliance Department and asked him if he would still be able give us the price that it was before. He put me on hold and went to go speak with the manager. He came back telling me «No problem I can still get you the old price of $ 2499» I went straight from the Madison Heights store to this one! Couldn’t be more happier! Went inside paid for it and walked out in less then 5 minutes.

Went there after my failed attempt at the verizon store, and I’m happy to report that I am writing this review from my new iPhone 6 plus! Customer service was awesome! Not only did the store have everything I wanted, the sales guy was extremely knowledgeable and funny! He was so helpful and made my experience so great, that I’m sending my husband in to get his new phone! Thank you!

Nick in customer service is great. Had an exchange and he handled it with no problem. Also, they have lower prices on Apple products than the Apple store. Sign up for their reward program!

I called this location and talked to a sales assistant while I was driving to the location. She said they have 4 iphone6 for AT&T in stock. I literally walked in the store 5 minutes later. The cell phone area had maybe 3 customers browsing, I thought for sure I was getting a new phone. The sales clerk looked in the inventory and said none in stock. They just said they have some in stock to pressure people into just preordering while they are there anyways. …bad business

Recently bought an LED TV here. I’m fairly pleased with it but the salesman was no help at all. He wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about the sale. I specifically told him I did not own any flat screens and asked if there was anything I needed to know when setting it up. He said no. Seemed like he was just there because he had to be. Couldn’t get a signal no matter what I tried. Found out I needed an HDMI cable. So that’s why I’m giving this rating. They also didn’t have much to choose from. The other employees I encountered while I was there were very friendly so I may give them another try in the future.

I’ve been to a lot of best buys and this one is the best one to get a laugh from if your bored. All the other bestbuys nearby call this the best buy, «return buy» because they have a HUGE stock of basically everything in open item. You get so many things so much cheaper here that are barely used because it’s open itemed. But the staff is honestly stupid they honestly do not know what they are talking about or doing at this location. Asked this guy about where are your beats by dre and he said «yeah the kickers subs are over there» and pointed towards where they have the tablets.

Okay, let’s talk about this place. First I don’t go to Best Buy that often. This one is kind of hidden and smaller than most.
That being said, they do still seem to have everything the slightly larger Best Buy locations have.
Here’s the issue with this location. The past two times I’ve come here, when you walk in there’s at least four people in the blue shirt standing right by the door. There are having a conversation, but it doesn’t seem to be a meeting of some sort that was called at the door. You’ll be greeted by somebody usually in a yellow shirt standing by those blue shirt guys. Nobody has ever asked me if I needed help with anything. Okay, they may not be told to do that.
So I walked around trying to figure out where what I need it is. Both times in the past few months I have needed help finding something and nobody had approached me. But I see lots of people standing around looking right at me and watching me in their areas very close to where they are seemingly doing nothing. Again, maybe that’s some kind of new policy where they don’t approach you and you approach them. But if I am standing looking at a product and I’m there for a while and I I’m looking around as if I need somebody to come to me I don’t want to have to seek out somebody.
I’m not standoffish when I walk into a store too and I’m looking around aimlessly I am very approachable so nobody why ever even says anything I don’t know.
I see plenty of other people coming in being approached — so maybe they think that I don’t have good money to spend. That’s kind of how I feel sometimes. I see lots of men coming in being helped but apparently young woman on her own doesn’t need assistance.
Moving on from that yesterday after waiting in the area I needed help in for about 15 minutes but somebody stood right by me just watching me I approached the person in the department I was in for help. As I was walking towards him he turned around and started walking over to another rep to have a conversation about their home computers. So I walk 20 feet in the opposite direction to another person standing in a different department. He then walked over to another department and help somebody else, well ask that person if they needed help. At this point I was frustrated. I walked straight into the computer area and ask somebody if they could please come and help me and that I wanted to by something right away. There were three guys just looking at me who weren’t doing anything. Another guy came over and said what you need help with in what department. He was nice and also informative. Then I finally got some help and it wasn’t from anybody in the department I wanted to purchase something.
I needed two more things into other departments one of which this gentleman it did help me with the other he just pointed me in the direction because he said that was in his department, and he’d have to call somebody. I ended up finding it on my own brought my purchases up to him and he had someone else ring me up.
The point is I was in there about 25 minutes and had somebody approached me I could have had everything they needed in about 6 minutes and then in and out. They could have had somebody go get the other two products that I needed and knew by name and exactly what they were while he help me with the one purchase.
I needed to pick between 3 items. It’s irritating and I don’t like that. They need to work on that. There are so many people in that store standing around that even if u could not help somebody in one department because its, not yours you could tell another representative hey person just walked in been over there for awhile maybe see if I want to spend some money.

Here’s the story of a young man that wanted a new remote control for his TV. The young man in the story is me, if you haven’t guessed by now. I love Best Buy. I’ve been a Reward Zone Premier Silver member for years. I normally shop at the Rochester Hills location, but this story takes place at the Utica store (had to shop there out of convenience).
I ordered said remote control online and decided to choose the «store pickup» option. Evidently I would regret this decision. I went to the store roughly 5 hours after I received the e-​mail confirming that my remote control was ready for pickup. The woman behind the counter took my info then proceeded to look everywhere for the remote. No-​can-​do Miss Best Buy lady. The item ain’t there.
Miss Best Buy lady then proceeded to treat me like an idiot and make the standard «get the customer off my back» excuses (e.g. the systems are down, etc). Then another Best Buy dude came up to the counter, left, then came back empty-​handed. Twenty, yes, TWENTY minutes later the poor b*stard who was in charge of fulfilling the order came up to the counter with the remote. He says to me «Ugh…it was 8am… I wasn’t totally awake.» Give me a break, guy.
Now I know that me having to wait for my item 20 minutes didn’t cause a ripple in the space-​time continuum. I know I’m not entitled to anything. My problem as the average consumer is that I want to be treated fairly and with respect. If a corporation puts policies in place to make things easier and more efficient for the customer, those policies shouldn’t be broken. I also don’t appreciate being treated like a dummy.
As a result of this incident, I contacted a Customer Care Representative. This person was apologetic and promised me a gift card as an apology and to keep me loyal to the Best Buy brand. I never received anything… but I know better ;)

Best Buy Customer Care finally resolved the issue with regard to the gift card. I upped the rating another star… I still won’t go back to the Best Buy Utica store.

YET ANOTHER UPDATE
I received my gift card. I received several follow-​up phone calls from the Corporate Customer Care rep as well as the Utica store manager. I’ll bump up another star to 3. I am impressed with their persistance to ensure that I am a happy customer.

Quick and Easy! I was in and out. Great service started at the door. Went in to get a laptop computer cord.
I would have been out sooner but got hung up looking at the Samsung stuff, and my boys MUST play the games.
