Lukins Brick Oven Pizza

I was here last night (Nov 13) and after a few beers and slices of (good) pizza, ordered a club soda and a water at the bar for my parents.
The waitress asked if I was a «faggot.»
Disgusted, I walked back to our table, asked for the check and left.
Using the word «faggot» is never ok. People who have any lick of common sense or understanding in this modern world we live in know this. Calling a paying customer «faggot» is also (newsflash).not ok. I felt sad for this small-​minded, ignorant, unintelligent girl who probably has never been outside of Utica. But if Utica is going to continue its awesome renaissance, then people like this need to begin theirs.
I can’t imagine a manager or owner would condone such offensive, ignorant, behavior that girl displayed last night. And I’ve never taken the time to write a review, good or bad, in my life. But I felt I needed to make it known that whenever I come back to Utica to visit friends and family from now on, Lukins will not be visited.

Stopped in as we looked for a place to have dinner. Brick oven pizza sounded great! Walked in– sat down– not too busy. No One acknowledged us. We went up the bar and asked for a menu. We told «Oh someone will wait on you!» Waited for 10 min with no further attention so walked out. Bottom line: review is on service only. On to next review at: Nail Creek!

The food was really good! Started with the fried mozzarella, so tasty. House salad, big enough for two or more. You must try char grilled honey garlic wangs… to die for! Margherita pizza with a basalmic glaze… oh boy… try it, love it. Pearl Jam references on the menu… classic! Only complaint… Pepsi products, but I survived.

Had the calzone, absolutely DELICIOUS! Service was fair, it was trivia night, the bartenders were busy and not as attentive as is ideal, but hey, that happens. What was annoying was an off-​duty kitchen worker was drinking at the end of the bar, and continued to speak to me in slurred English about how he makes the food… YIKES, it was awkward! Finally a couple of his friends came in, when the man went to the bathroom I was privvy to his sales pitch to the female of how he was a better choice for her in his slurred speech.
Come on Lukins, most restaurants don’t allow employees to hang out after work and get shit-​faced, you need to end this practice. I’m sure the guy is great in the kitchen, but there is a reason he working IN THE KITCHEN.

Pizza is OK but the service is absolutely pathetic. Non attentive, rude and simply its my pleasure to be there attitude from the service. Don’t waste your time because you will be sitting there a while.

Terrible service! A group of us came in on a Tuesday night for a going away party! We’re all grown adults who have been or currently working in this industry! We spend lots of money and tip ridiculously well. Drinks were made differently and different prices were given for the same drink constantly! There were a few bartenders working and one was a complete drunk! We found out her name was Kayla Moynihan. She was constantly pouring herself drinks instead of serving guests. She would make us wait so she could pour herself a cocktail and chug it in front of us. Her eyes were completely glossy and she was sloppy! Mind you it was only around ⁸⁄₉ at night! She walked by us and broke glasses that she was barely carrying, since she couldn’t walk straight! My friend who is in his early 50’s told her to be careful because there was a large piece of glass behind her foot! She continued to tell him he was a fucking asshole and how she «fucking hated him». She was screaming like a psycho and verbally assaulted all of us for her drunken stupidity. We had to get management who was an assistant from the kitchen. He came out from the back with a smock and an attitude. He was not helpful or apologetic at all. He simply told us he was sending her home, and he did. None of us will ever return! Terrible!

Went here for drinks on Saturday night. The place was packed because there was a band. –The band was actually quite nice! Even though the bar was packed, the service was great! Little pricey for Utica, but what ever. Finished the night with some of their brick oven pizza. Yum

Pizza was awful. Definitely drunk people pizza. Wings were good though. Bartender was also pretty terrible.

Love this place. They have awesome bartenders. Paninis and pizza are delish. Really cool place with good vibes!

Went for dinner and beer. Used to eat here when it was Pasquales Pizza :) The long hots were yummy and go well with a cold beer. Lots of beer choices to choose from too. The group ordered pizza, a salad and a panini which were all really good. They even make home made chips which came with the panini. The place was relaxed and comfortable. They’ve done an amazing job fixing up the building! Maybe they’ll add more seating as winter approaches, but otherwise, it’s a great place to catch a meal, have a few drinks and visit with friends.

Went here for a ladies night and had a great time. Liked the atmosphere and the food was good. The risotto balls were fantastic but the margherita pizza was a little undercooked in my opinion. We’ve ordered a couple sandwiches for takeout and they were good too. I’ll definitely go back. It’s nice to have a new chill place to go on Varick Street. It looked like a great place to see a band so I look forward to that.

Went there for lunch and was extremely disappointed. Poor customer service and food was over priced. On top of that, one of the orders was incorrect!!! Avoid this place!!!

Great looking bar in Utica NY the guys have done a great job, great atmosphere, good food, good service. Owners are very friendly. Nice crowd. Pretty Bartenders. A place you should definitely check out.
