Edit: The gas company paid the rebate — $ 125.00. I confirmed with the rebate company the rebate is not, and has not been $ 250. They gave me the unfortunate news that the contractor lied to me. Worse, when I asked him for partial compensation he threatened me. Buyer beware.
UPDATE: I’ve been forced to update this review, and lower the rating after being harassed and threatened by the company owner ‘Dwayne Hrynyk’. He’s repeatedly harassed me in email, and threatened legal action if I posted any negative reviews. Of course, reviews (truthful ones) are protected speech, nobody has ever successfully litigated against a reviewer. He must not realize I am an attorney, and a Unilocal Elite. (wrong guy to defraud) Also note, I found considerable disparaging information about this company on the internet.
This is a tough review for me. Mostly because the job they did was good, they showed up on time, and it was a very nice improvement to the ‘feel’ of the home. Overall I can’t fault them when considering the raw workmanship they did. The problem is with the owner. I believe he purposely misled us on the rebate practices and amounts from our gas company. He stated the rebate was ‘double’ what it actually was, and I believe this statement was made to make the price of the job feel less than it actually was. The form he brought clearly stated what the gas company pays, but he crossed it off, doubled it, and said ‘this is what it really is’. The gas company has a big problem with him modifying their forms according to my conversation with the legal department there. When I questioned him on this he became very irate, insulting, and threatened legal action if I ‘said anything’ about this. His harsh reaction doesn’t lend much comfort to the idea it may simply be a ‘misunderstanding’
It’s a shame this is the way they conduct business as I was ready to refer them to not only area residents, but the corporations we represent
