For night life in Uvalde it’s great. Needs some serious help on the food though. For the most part staff has been great. Manager is very nice.

This is supposed to be a «sports bar» but good luck trying to find a tv to watch sports on. The drinks are way over priced. If you’ve ever been to a strip joint, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. These are strip joint drink prices. The management has no clue on how to manage a business and is not a very good role model to the employees.

So, there was a lot mixed reviews on this place. I still thought I would give it a shot. Took my parents and fiancé to eat there. It was made apparent right away that they were going to serve us when they felt like it. We weren’t greeted or even given a second look when we walked in. We finally sat ourselves after a couple of minutes. We didn’t get a menu for a good 15 minutes. Then they waited another 15 to come get our drink order. By this time we started to wonder if we should even try to order. Finally the server brought us our drinks and we ordered. 30 minutes goes by and we are about to give up on our food. She brings it out and 75% of it is burnt and/or the wrong food. They take it back and at that point the servers had already been ignoring us, but now they are avoiding us completely. They won’t even refill our drinks. They correct some of the food, but some of it is still burnt… At this point we call the manager over hoping she will get this fixed. She was no help. Asking us what she should do about it. She too walks off apologizing and avoiding us as well. Another 15 minutes with no solution. We finally stop another server because ours went MIA30 minutes ago. Telling her to cancel what food they were trying to remake. They are lucky we paid for the drinks. We refused to pay for the food. To cut this novel short. We have never been treated so poorly in our lives. We will never go back to this establishment and hope no one else has to endure this place with there atrocious service and horrible food.

The food has been getting worst every time. Looks like they have been neglecting the kitchen and concentrating more on the bar. Would not recommend the food but OK to drink from the bar.

If you were planning on renting space here for a party — do not do it. First of all, the charge was $ 200 and the room was basically a storage room. Tons of tables and chairs filled the space(and something that looked like a tumbling mat) and if you want them moved you have to do it yourself — although no one tells you that in the beginning. The room was also filthy — bugs and roaches on the floor, salt and sticky stuff on the«bar» and a stained table cloth on ONE table in the room. The manager — Julie, Janet — something with a J — was extremely unprofessional and rude. I asked employees to have her come back to the room multiple times and she refused. She never greeted us upon arrival, never bothered to check and see how things were going. The kitchen manager was the one who tried to help and was very nice but she stopped him from helping pretty quickly. At the end of our party we could have just walked out since no one ever came to check on us, but decided to talk to her about her about how we felt the price was unreasonable for what we got. She became VERY rude and started talking about how we had use of the tables and chairs — um, yeah. OK. She then told us never to return which is not a problem because I don’t enjoy frequenting establishments run by ignorant people. I’m not shocked that this place was empty on a college football Saturday…

This is a big sports bar and way more than I expected it to be. For such a small town this place is pretty cool. Lots of tables to spread out. Shuffle board, pool table, outside patio seating for you dirty smokers. Full bar with a good variety of beer. Came here on a pretty big college football Saturday but it still wasn’t very busy. Maybe it’s more happening in the evening. I would definitely recommend this place and come here again.

I have heard a lot of bad things about this place. They’re racist, they make up their own rules, even that they banned someone from their establishment because of an altercation that didnt even happen at there! Wow… ummm…that’s really weird. So when my WHITE boyfriend and I went I was a little anxious to see exactly what was going down here… but surprisingly it was fine. It was empty actually during lunchtime on a Thursday(found that a little odd) but we were treated very nicely had pretty decent food and a few beers. If I’m in the area… I’d definitely come back!

Friendly staff, good food, and probably one of the few places in town with a nightlife. Many televisions for watching sports, and two pool tables with lots of seating in the dining area and near the bar.

Let’s start this off like this… I work a 7 day a week job, 14 – 16 hours a day. We don’t get much time to go out and enjoy ourselves. Three co-workers and I, were willing to spend quite a few dollars in this small town, undesirable, «sports bar & grill». When we approached the door, a sour faced individual greeted us. He motioned to the sign on the door.(Which I’ve never seen on the door in the multiple times I’ve been in this place). He demanded that we tuck our shirts in. We complied, yet upon entering there were NUMEROUS amounts of people with their shirt UNTUCKED. So, «when in Rome» Right? … We had a few drinks, played few games of pool. Then all of a sudden I am told that we have to leave because one of my co-workers has his shirt untucked. I have had my shirt untucked ever since I walked through the door, and saw many untucked shirts. This sour faced, excuse for a «door man» demands that my co-worker,([I’m sorry, I forgot to mention, He’s Black]) leaves. Now, before this incident, we spoke to a few of the staff members about this«Tucked Shirt» rule. Each one verified that this narrow minded, bigoted, racist individual, to say the least, singles out groups of people. Good paying customers, causing no harm. This«Tucked Shirt» rule was on the door, but what was also on the door is «NO T-Shirts». The hateful, uneducated, bigot overlooked that, I, and 45 some odd people had a T-Shirt on. This is a perfect example of stereotypical 1950’s RACISM! There is no other way to put it. This may not be loosing the establishment, itself, money. Although it is costing the staff that works for tips there. They are not to happy about it, from how they talked. Hopefully the administration comes to their senses soon. Before they loose their employees, or receive discrimination charges… No Bueno… Understand?

I love the food. Some currently wish the menu had more non-fried food options, and I guess I do, too, although the menu is large already. It has a great, friendly, fun atmosphere.

This would be a nice sportsbar if it were in SA or Austin. In Uvalde, this is downright impressive! My buddy Tony B. and I sat at the bar, shared a couple pints and chatted with the bartender about his life in small town S. Texas. The place was outfitted with a full bar, cold beers on tap, pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, flatties and a nice food menu. The owner(Reno) dropped by, shook hands, introduced himself, and chatted us up about his busnesses in S. Texas. This was quite a cool upgrade to a family-owned building that once housed his Uvalde location of equipment rental business. The Huddle also has party rooms available and a very large outdoor area(horseshoes and washer’s anyone?) that will be a boon for business once they finsh it out(they are making an outdoor bar as well)! With really no other options in this town of 15,000 people, we will be back!

Lee Mc: So, are there any other sports bars here in town. Bartender: Um… Applebee’s. Me: So, no… Bartender: Weeeeelllllll, I don’t want to speak ill of other places. Me: No no… it’s all good. It’s understandable that he doesn’t want to speak ill of anyone in Uvalde, because the chances that they know each other or are in someway related through blood or marriage is VERY likely in this tiny town. On a recent trip hunting trip with Lee Mc, we popped in for a quick beer and were pleasantly surprised. From the drab exterior, one would never expect what the interior holds. On one side is a bar made of reclaimed lumber and tin from this once industrial building. Spacious rooms with multiple TVs, shuffle board, pool tables, darts, and a few tables adorn the space. On the other side is the dining room. Checkered ceiling tiles and a cold cafeteria feel make the space a little institutional feeling. Mismatched tables and a general spartan feeling leads me to believe that they are not quite done decorating. The Huddle had only been open a handful of weeks, so that would be my best guess. Out back is a massive… and I mean MASSIVE outdoor space with horseshoes and space for a few thousand of your closest friends. No tables… yet AND it’s dog friendly! We didn’t get a chance to try any food, They boast the only non-member liquor establishment for miles, but the beer selection needs some serious work. When Ziegenbock and Guinness are the top offers… not so much. Great service, personable owner, and a great potential… this place could rival if not surpass any place in Austin. If I get the chance to return, I’ll be sure to pop in and show some love! BTW…the hunt was a bust. I think the critters saw me coming…

Food tastes good. Little differently made. Nice sports bar. The down side to the food is they will nickel and dime you to death. At first glance the prices seem normal until you realize they charge for EVERYTHING. I could not believe I had to pay for CONDIMENTS!!! How cheap is that. Service sucks, You gotta ask for silverware, forget about getting a refill. I asked for sweet tea and she said sure and then brought me an unsweet tea, I pointed this out to her and she said well we don’t have sweet tea. So she didn’t have what I ordered and just brought me whatever she felt like. Then I had to ask for my condiments 4 times, never did she say they cost extra, I just read it on my bill. This is a good sports bar to come have a drink but for food just stay away. Also the advertised free wifi has not worked since they opened.
