Andrews Park

It’s been a hit and miss at this park for me. I’ve seen kids smoking close to the playground which, if there’s a breeze, you can smell the cigarette smoke. My husband took our toddler on a Saturday and wasn’t impressed with the people around the park. I am new to the area and won’t stay long. With such beautiful weather, I will explore other playgrounds. I gave it 4 stars because it is a fun playground and my daughter loves it.

Andrew park is in the city of Vacaville California and is the place to be on Friday nights. This 17 acre park is home to the 16^th annual Creekwalk Concert Series which kicked off Friday June 5^th 2015 and runs to August 7^th 2015. It also hosts many other events during the year such as their farmers market which is held every Saturday from May 2^nd 2015 — October 10^th 2015 from 8am-​12 noon. Blues festival is also a very popular event which is held on June 26^th, 27^th and 28^th 2015. This is only a fraction of events which
this park hosts throughout the year.
The city of Vacaville sponsors the weekly concerts so no alcohol is allowed to be brought in. A $ 2 dollar entrance fee per person is collected as you enter the park and your bags are checked for any kind of alcohol. Beer is sold on the premises as well as food. If you did not bring your own food there are numerous food venders trying to entice you to purchase their items from hot dogs to Mexican tacos. There are also many local restaurants nearby to purchase food from also.
Now let me get back to the park, it’s 17 acres of grassy rolling hills. On top of the hill is a large children playground consisting of swings, slides, and numerous climbing structures. There is also a strolling path which takes you on a scenic walk along the Ulatis Creek. The stage which the band performs is quite large and the dancing area is enormous!
Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s we all have a special place in our hearts for the music we loved growing up with and for me it was the Bee Gees. Today’s band was called CheeseBalls, a favorite Bay Area band that plays a lot of 70’s to 80’s disco hits, just up my alley! I was in disco heaven! My Lucky Day!

Loved this park when I was a kid but it has just gone down hill. Way to many bratie Wanta b thug teenagers and shady homeless people for me

Kids love the great wonders playground. This park downtown has so much to offer. A nice path by the river to walk along, a rock garden, nice places to sit and have lunch

As parks go, Andrews Park is rather large; it has a nice enclosed children’s play area at the top of the hill and a small stream that runs the southwest perimeter. Teenagers have been known to put up volleyball nets or play frisbee tag on the large expanse of lawn.
There is a vast flat area for gathering and the city always has some function scheduled for the public. Traditionally Andrews Park plays host to Fiesta Days, Creekwalk, Fourth of July firewalks, the annual Christmas tree lighting (in conjunction with Main Street), and many outdoor performances. I even saw child bicycle races one morning while visiting the Farmer’s Market.
It is not surprising to see rented bouncy houses for private birthday parties or young adults having their senior or Quincinera photos taken utilizing one of the many landscaped settings. I’ve even seen engagement photos being taken as well.
There is ample parking located nearby and if you get hungry or thirsty there are a plethora of choices up and down Main Street that should please even the fussiest eater.

The kids play ground is great. Includes a mini climbing wall, swings, slides, climbing structure and lots more. The climbing area looks like a giant fort. My kids ran around here for over an hour without stopping!

This park is beautiful and well kept! Came here the first time with my family and my son had a blast! The playground is nice and big and very fun! This park is well maintained and has a decent amount of picnic areas. There are a lot of shady areas and the grass is healthy. What more can you ask for in a park? It’s also right next to the Vacaville Public Library. After an hour park fun we walked to Los Reyes Restaurant for some lunch.

Very cool park overall. A lot of walking areas and great playground for the kids. Right next to the downtown Vacaville area so you can go get an awesome meal nearby and walk it off in the park. I have been here for some really cool events like 4^th of July and others and they have some live bands and good vendors. This is THE park in Vacaville, all others would be considered neighborhood parks.
