El Rancho Nursery

Just purchased our first tree for the property here, and the gentleman who helped us was knowledgable, friendly, and personable. There was a good selection of trees, shrubs, and other plants to choose from. Wonderful experience here, will return.

Great selection & Rey and especially his cute wife they were Sooo helpful!!! Now just need to find some cute pots to put our new plants inside of!

I don’t give a 5 star review lightly. I showed up on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed touring this small nursery with my family. Ray, the owner, directed me towards, and helped me pick out 2 Acer Rubrum ‘October Glory’ as shade trees. I put the flags on my lawn where I wanted them to plant them and when I came home from work Monday, they were planted perfectly, double staked and tethered. Exceptional value. Very happy with the trees and service. I’ll be back for a Chinese pistache and Ginko if they have them.

What AMAZING service, Ray Lopez and his lovely wife are such sweethearts and so helpful. Great selection of roses and fruit trees, limited on veggies and seeds. Good choice of trees and installation is $ 25 per tree (plus a 90 day warranty for the trees they deliver and plant.) Prices however are not cheap ($ 90-​$ 110 each) but these are good size trees.

If I could give them Ten Stars I would. El Rancho is a family owned nursery specializing in perennials, bushes, vines and trees of every description. The folks are very knowledgeable and friendly and they stand behind their products. We have been doing business with them for a good number of years and always enjoy going back.

Love this place! Ray and his wife are absolute sweethearts, very helpful and just lovely to deal with. I’d rather spend my money here than at Home Depot any day. The selection is pretty impressive too.

Great mom and pop business. Its located near the new developments near Kaiser. They are the most friendliest people! Their nursery is stocked with a variety of herbs, roses, grasses, ivy. Most of all they have fairly matured trees. I stopped in to buy root hormone for my plumeria stock that I brought back from Hawaii. I was so enamored by the place that I bought a red-​orange carpet rose plant. I also plan on buying fruit trees once I’m ready to put them in the backyard.
There was a variety of lemon, orange and other citrus trees. They also had pluot trees. I’m sure they had other varieties but I was pretty much stuck on the roses.
The couple that runs the nursery is a great resource. I was able to ask them a lot of tips about soil and watering and they were really helpful.

Ray, the owner, and his co-​workers are simply the best. So knowledgeable about plants that do well in this area. They will install trees for the price of the tree… amazing! Love the friendly service. Great nursery. Can’t be beat!

Excellent Mom & Pop nursery. If you want beautiful plants and trees, and outstanding customer service, El Rancho is the nursery for you! bought dwarf peach and nectarine, satsuma and fuyu persimmon trees yesterday and today the nursery delivered and planted the trees for a small fee. Nice, helpful and knowledgeable people. Will definitely return for more. Very highly recommended. Thanks Mr. Lopez!

This place is wonderful! Ray and his family were really helpful when I presented my situation to them. I needed a good shade tree for the front of my home and Ray spent time going over each tree I was interested in. Needless to say, I spent a while thinking and they were still extremely accommodating. They are very knowledgeable and thorough with their work. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful! It was a bit out of the way for me but so well worth it! I went there with pictures of 8 different areas I needed to fill with plants. The woman was so very nice and patient with me. She configured my whole plant landscaping through the pics. I was at a loss of what to plant. Sooo very kind, helpful and full of information. Lots of thanks! I found my nursery and will be back!

I would give it more than 5 stars if possible. We’ve been to nurseries within driving distance of Vacaville and Fairfield and this one was the best in many ways. Tons of variety (its WAY bigger than you initially think it is), very friendly service and the prices were reasonable compared to other places.
We’re going to be picking up a few trees here when we’re ready in a month or two. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking.

I’m new to Unilocal so this review is late but honest. We paid to have El Rancho plant 8 redwoods on our property line in October because they guaranteed the tree if they did the planting. After a few weeks, I stopped by and told them that the needles were yellowing. Told them the watering schedule which they said was fine. Was told that they go dormant in the winter and not to worry. After a few months, it was clear that they were dying. I examined them closer and found that they had dug the holes the same size as the root ball not the recommended 3X.
I called but they didn’t call back. I showed up there and they acted like they didn’t know who I was but that they’d have someone come out to look. No one came so I showed up on a Saturday when I knew that they’d be busy. The owner came over and asked if he could help me. I replied, «I’m the one who has been back here numerous times about the 8 dead redwoods that you planted and guaranteed. You don’t return calls and you don’t replace as promised.» He ushered me inside (away from other customers) and promised he would personally come back out. They replanted 5 of the trees in the same size holes (February) and those died too.
Obviously, I don’t recommend them. Hard earned money down the tubes and no privacy to show for it. I’ve had more success at Lowe’s with their trees and planting instructions. So much for trying to give the business to local independents!

I bought three trees here. For the price, they were much bigger than what you would find at Lowe’s or other hardware stores. It was nice to be able to talk with the employees, who were very knowledgeable about what grows best here. I told them what I wanted (pretty, flowering, shade) and they suggested a few different types to choose from. They planted them for a very reasonable fee. One died after a few months — I called, they came out and replaced it. I’m very impressed with their customer service and will go back for my next yard project.

Always super helpful and will even help you out over the phone. They answer the phone even — imagine that! Very knowledgeable folks.
