8 years ago, my daughter took the in-class drivers ed and behind the wheel training from Jacobssen’s. She thought the owner who taught the classroom instruction was odd but the behind the wheel instructor(who is no longer with the company) was excellent. Based on this, I booked behind the wheel instruction with them for my son recently. After the fact, I learned that the owner IS the only«employee» now and no longer has any staff. We set up three 2-hour lessons. Dale showed up an hour early. I asked why and he said he likes to be early instead of late but to take our time.(The next week, he again showed up almost an hour early. I told my son to go out at the appointment time and Dale lectured him on keeping him waiting so long… rude.) The 1st appt., I explained that my son was extremely nervous about driving and Dale explained that he was very patient and teaches a lot of people with learning difficulties. My son came out, Dale asked him where he did his Drivers Ed. When he found that it was online, he said, «That was a waste of time. That doesn’t teach you anything.» REALLY? Did that help my son’s nerves? Then he asked a series of technical automobile questions that weren’t readily answered and said, «See? I’m going to have to start with the basics with you!» On the 2nd lesson, he talked down to my straight A’s son with questions like…“Do you have difficulty in school? Do you have problems learning?“ I made a mistake not doing my usual Unilocal research on him recently. He is rude and unprofessional and I would not recommend his business!

(This was two/three years ago.) Took Jacob’s Driving School for the driving classes, not behind the wheel. It was more expensive than some other companies, but they were really close to my high school so it was convenient to use them – but I took the class over the weekend/break time.(I ended up using someone else for behind the wheel.) The lady at the desk was very polite. Jacob’s was professional but has a quirky personality. I was one of three girls who took the class, and it was way more fun because of how we girls bonded. Good experience. Passed my written test with ease(but honestly, it’s really just common sense).
