Came here a year ago and they were out of ribs. So we got the fried chicken and damn it was good! The mac and cheese was 5 stars but the service was lacking. I ordered a large glass of milk and i had to remind her to bring it to me After our food was brought out. The cornbread was dry. But id still try it again

I’ve eaten a lot of bbq. So maybe I’m judging from years of rib eating. I had high hopes for this place and it just fell a bit short for me. Especially with all of the really good reviews. The people who work here are super nice and helpful. I’ve only ordered to go food and it’s always been made on time. The greens are solid too. The meats just aren’t on point. You expect that from a good bbq place. The meats were lacking moisture and taste. It’s not the worst I’ve had though. It’s cool enough to bring home, slather with Everett & Jones sauce and go to work. But I wish I didn’t have to do that. I wish it was a place where you didn’t need a sauce to cover up the meats. A place where you use the sauce as a compliment to the meats. Sadly I won’t be back for awhile — unless there is an emergency and all the stores are out of ribs. Both times I went I was left wanting it to be better.

Best brisket I have ever had. The rub was just awesome. Had a side of greens which were also good. Staff was friendly.

Maybe I was there on an off day, but the food was dry, not fresh, hot or juicy and all the sides were bland and tasted like they came right out of the grocery deli case.

Walked into an empty restaurant on a Friday evening around 6pm, craving some bomb bbq after reading the reviews on Unilocal. The moment we entered, we were greeted by a kind man behind the counter who had menus ready for me and my friend. I knew from that interaction alone that the service here was going to be top notch(and it was). We ordered the combination deal with 2 meats(tri tip and ribs), 2 sides(potato salad and collard greens) and two slices of bread. Dat shizz was bomb — especially when you drench that meaty goodness in the bbq sauce that they bring out to you WARM in squeeze bottles. Couldn’t stop soaking up my slices of bread with that sauce. The potato salad and greens were addicting and the meat was tender and not dry at all. The food was a little pricey for me(the combo plus a can of soda came out to $ 19.45) but I didn’t mind too much cause it was a «treat yo self» kind of day. Overall, great food & amazing service!

Great service!!! The gentleman cooking was very sweet and their portions are generous. The prices can’t be beat either. Great flavor, just wish they had more sauce choices! Will be back!

I finally decided to try this place after reading all the good reviews! Honestly this place is really good! I got the Sunday special which was Pork chops, twos sides, cornbread and regular bread. The pork chops were so flavorful! The Mac & cheese just melts right in your mouth! The collard greens were okay but with hot sauce it gave it more flavor. I will continue to come here and try other items on the menu! The customer service here was really good as well! The two gentlemen were very polite and helpful!

I was in the mood for bbq, so my brother recommended Macnificent BBQ. Right when we walk in we’re greeted I ended up ordering the two meat combo for 16 bucks, and chose the tri tip, and ribs. The combo came with two sides and bread, so I wound up getting their potato salad, and baked beans. All I can say is it was EXCELLENT, far exceeded my expectations. Generous servings, juicy tri tip, fall off the bone ribs, the potato salad and beans were great. Their BBQ sauce must be some sort of secret family recipe, because I haven’t tasted anything like it, It was that good. I was stuffed you get your money’s worth, and some at Macnificent BBQ. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the mood for some great tasting BBQ.

Right when we walked in, we were greeted by the owner(I believe he was the owner) behind the counter as he was preparing food. He’s very sweet and friendly. He took our order and food came out in about 10 min. I’m not a big BBQ eater like my boyfriend, but according to both of us, this place has excellent BBQ that’s well worth your money!

Loved it! Had the Brisket Sandwich on a hoagie roll. Brisket had a sweet, smokey flavor and was as tender as it comes. Hoagie was fresh and soft. I BBQ and Grill almost every weekend so I rarely order BBQ out, but it was close to where we were working and quick and convenient so we went for it. A friend had the smoked chicken sandwich and said it was delicious. I will be back!

I’ve eaten perfect BBQ in the heart of Oakland(Flint’s, I miss you!) and I have yet to find anything close to it. Macnificent BBQ does not fit the bill. Three plates for fifty dollars to start, so bring your wallet. While you expect this price to fetch a mountain of meat, you won’t get that. However, the meat portions are adequate and the sides are generous. I was disappointed by the quality of the food. I ordered right at close, so perhaps this explains the dryness of the ribs and tri-tip. I was hoping for juicy, but that wasn’t the case with my order. I don’t recommend the links. They are simply«red hots» that have not been smoked. The potato salad is quite good. The baked beans are canned, however. The BBQ sauce is fine, but there are no selections for those who like a little punch. In other words, one sauce covers all. The staff was courteous and helped me with menu selections. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but it’s a BBQ joint, so why should it be?

Macnificent BBQ: Complete review(See previous) So, I’ve been hearing about Magnificent BBQ for some time, browsed through their latest twenty or so reviews and it was time to pay a visit… ‘Not. Closed. ROUND1: Well damn, they’re closed on Mondays… ‘And Tuesdays.(Take note.) «DiNG!» — Thank you for playing, try again. Store Hours — ROUND2: I finally made it down to the non-descript strip mall complete with laundromat, check cashing, video gambling… ‘And security guard. What?! ‘This gotta be some«Top Secret» — ‘Til death do you part, kinda BBQ recipe! Seriously though, Macnificent BBQ isn’t exactly in the best part of town where one should take«Fifi,» the toy poodle for a late night walk… ‘Well, not unless your packing.(I’m kidding… ‘At the very least, wear your kevlar vest & bring a taser.) Ron McReynolds, aka«Chef Mac,» greeted me with a big warm hello & a smile. «For here… ‘Or to-go?» «Chef Mac» —
Ron & I talked story as my order was being made. Ron mentioned that the 1st Sunday of every month, he made his signature, BBQ Spaghetti… I was intrigued.(I’m definitely coming back for that… ‘And I did!) However, that was a complete bust but more on that later. I was hungry, everything sounded good. I’ve been craving comfort food for a while and along with linguica, eggs & rice, BBQ is in my top five go-t– foods. There’s nothing like a flavorful plate of fall-off-the-bone ribs, hot links, potato salad, and a couple slices of white bread… ‘Awesome. BBQ Hot Link Lunch Special($ 6.95), good value.(‘With a side of brisket.) Photo — My Order: Hot Link Lunch Special — 1 sliced link: $ 6.95 Potato Salad(Included side) White Bread(Included side) BBQ Brisket(Extra side) Overall, alright. The BBQ sauces(Regular & spicy), were tasty, sweet with just the perfect amount of vinegar. The spicy sauce was good with a nice kick. The hot links were okay, not very spicy in the heat dept but they did have nice flavor. The brisket had nice flavor as well but thought it was a slightly on the dry side. ROUND3: 1st Sunday: BBQ Spaghetti «I’ve come for the BBQSPAGHETTI… Yippie kah yey, Mario!» Me: Hi Ron, I’m here to try your famous BBQ Spaghetti! Ron: **Awkward pause Me: You told me to come by on the 1st Sunday to try the BBQ Spaghetti… Ron: Uhm… Well, actually it’s not every Sunday, it’s once in a blue moon.(Translation: NOBBQSPAGHETTIFORYOU!) Me: Oh… ‘Okay.(Translation: Sh*t, that sucks.) «Well damn.» Sunday, «Daily Specials — Southern Fried Chicken.» As I waited for my «not-BBQ Spaghetti lunch,» I read something interesting. The Sunday Special, Southern Fried Chicken, price was«Varies.» NOW, that’s very interesting… I did not know that Southern Fried Chicken was a seasonal item w/a fluctuating price point. Neither, did I did realize that poultry had a season? «Hey, Ralph, when is chicken back in season… I’m tired of venison.» I’ve never gone to KFC, ordered a 12-piece variety bucket, and see a sign @ the drive-thru window, «Varies.» Is there a premium, Kobe Chicken from Japan, being fed a diet of prime grain and quality beer… ‘And if not, «WHYNOT?!» Varies — My Order: Southern Fried Chicken(6 Pieces) — Seasonal Price: $ 10.95 *Served w/cornbread Collard Greens(Included side) Potato Salad(Included side) Coke(12 oz can) $ 1.25 Total: $ 13.16 Photo — Great service, okay food, albeit a tad on the $$ side. The BBQ sauces were good. However, I had a few thoughts regarding the preheated sauces that made me think of the following: Photo — 1. Are the BBQ sauces microwaved in the same plastic containers they are served in?(Leeching; BPAs; microwaveable) 2. Reheating increases bacteria, how many times/day are these containers reheated? 3. How often are the BBQ sauces/containers changed out? Call me nuts but that’s where my mind goes… ‘After working at a number of food establishments & a few non-profits, «Better safe than toxic.» If you want to change it up from your usual, commercial suspects like Dickeys, or the pre-made COSTCO2-Pack next to the rotisserie chicken, stop by and try Macnificent BBQ! — Big Aloha! Went here because we wanted somewhere new to try and had a hankering for BBQ. It looks like a dive but once inside is small clean although somewhat spartan. It does have some pictures on the wall a few tables and chairs(nothing fancy) and not much else but what do you need? You grab a menu which is small but offers enough variety to fit most people. I had the combination(2 meats) With pulled pork and tri tip. They provide bread if you want a sandwich and some amazing BBQ sauce. They serve you at your table even though you order at the counter. The pulled pork is amazing and the tri– tip is unbelievable. Like I said the atmosphere is divey without giving me the creeps but the food is awesome. Will be back. Oh and to show you how good it is we took a load to go. The poor guy cooking was probably glad to see me go.

Went here with the family last night for dinner, this was a sat around 7pm. Nobody was in the restaurant. We sat down right away and decided to get the 3way. We chose the pulled pork, hot links, and ribs with sides of greens and Mac n cheese. The ribs were ok, good sauce but needed more seasoning. The hot links were not hot as in spicy. The pulled pork was ok as well but not very seasoned. The greens were ok but were full of stems. The Mac b cheese was really good. All in all this place was just ok, not my idea of a really good bbq place but for the price it’s acceptable.

Tri-tip tri-tip tri-tip…so good so lean delish! Everything else was standard Q-joint issue but the tri-tip was just what I’ve been looking for after C&J’s shut-down. Thanks Chef Mac!

Warning this place is closed on Monday and Tueday! After eating here quite often I have to say the pork ribs and tri tip are simply delicious. I also recommend ordering the Family Feast if there are two-four people in your party. For $ 46 you get a whole rack of ribs(12) a whole chicken, choice of tri tip or hot links, bread and three side orders, can you say«get your grub on» this is heaven for people who want tasty bbq at a affordable price. Our last 3 – 4 trips here have produced a less satisfactory experience. The ribs and mac n cheese are still of da hook, but the tri-tip has been dry and the chicken is always overcooked. I am not sure what has changed, but without that delicious Macnificent BBQ sauce the tri-tip and chicken have been hard to eat lately.

Was craving BBQ and this place popped up on Unilocal.Decided we should check this place out instead of Dickey’s since I knew it’s probably be less crowded during the lunch rush. The place is decorated with pictures pay homage to BBQ places around the US! Liked that idea! I was craving pulled pork so I went with the $ 5.95 lunch special: pulled pork sandwich with a side and drink. Maybe waited about 10 minutes or so and the food was ready, delivered right to our table! They serve the pulled pork with a seasoning and bbq sauce on the side. The sauce was delicious and the pulled pork wasn’t dry, but could have been more moist. Still tasty though, but I definitely used the sauce. I went for the potato salad as my side and it was your typical potato salad, nothing really special or anything. Down home feel with wonderful customer service! Come check this local BBQ place out if you don’t want to deal with the crowd at Dickey’s.
