How cool is this??? Not far from town is an authentic country store. Don’t expect Walmart, but you might be surprised just how much they have. Movie rentals, books, fair wine selection, deli – yeah, they’ve got it! Staff is nice. Two gas pumps out front add to the rural setting. Uploading a few pictures to give you an idea.

Although not far from the beaten path, this«country store» transported me 20 years and 2,000 miles to the cow town I grew up in. It’s a liquor store, but one with a few other amenities for the convenience of locals. Alongside a large selection of booze, you can rent a movie or have a respectable deli sandwich slapped together.

Oats Country Store recently got debit/credit capabilities(they are still learning how to use he machine). You pay inside at the counter. Weirdly, they still don’t have a public restroom. The guy at the counter made it sound like it was some sort of zoning issue, but let me use their loo as a personal favor, since I was desperate and the next closest place with a public restroom is in Winters.

I love old country stores, but when your kids got to pee and this place and the saloon are the only game in town, a country store without an outhouse is a sad thing! They’ve got a well stocked hard liqour section, a sandwich deli and an old white lady manning the counter. All that is missing is the shot gun to deal with the miscreants from the Wild Wrangler Saloon next door!
