I had an amazing lunch and will certainly return. The garlic naan was scrumptious, the kahari chicken was cooked the way I like it, i.e. not overdone. My friend had the chicken tikka masala which had a lovely flavour and a balanced heat. The portions were decent, service was reasonably timely, and the prices are okay. I might have liked a seafood option for a lunch combo, but since any chicken or veggie dish could be selected there is still a lot of options.

Came here a couple years back in 2010 – 2011, and it was absolutely amazing, wouldve given it 5 stars back then. I went back recently and the quality of their chicken tikka masala has declined significantly– to the point where I felt like I was eating indo-pak and not restaurant quality food. Maybe they just got a new chef or something.

This place is OK, but it’s over priced. They also give small portions for to go orders. Indian restaurants have a monopoly in Vacaville, since there aren’t a lot of them here to begin with. I’m actually from the bay area and there are lots of Indian restaurants & buffets there with food that taste great and also give large portions. If you’re in the Bay Area try: Favorite in San Ramon: Good Favorite in Hayward: Good variety & fresh garlic naan=One of the Best Taste of India in Fremont: One of the Best

Looking for some Indian(‘desi’) food to eat on our return from Reno to Bay Area(July 52014), my wife found this quiet little homely restaurant via Unilocal. We were off meat this day, so ordered Shai Paneer and Paneer Tikka Masala with butter naan and mango lassa Food was awesome!!! It had the taste of what caringly prepared and freshly made food can have. I normally eat the rice with cutlery, but this time I used my hands, licking my fingers clean — I simply had to. Need I say more? Price also was very very reasonable One small item kicked us us was the free papad appetizer with sweet and mint chutneys –dont remember any place offering free papad

I went here on a Saturday afternoon with a few friends for the much buffet, around 8 dollars for the lunch buffet! Luckily it wasn’t busy at all. We were greeted and seated right away. The food was fresh, and they don’t make large portions so it doesn’t sit for hours. Also if you want naan bread the waiter will bring you as much as you want. Like I said the food is super fresh and it’s not like a buffet at at restaurant with old /quick preparation food, they actually take time making it and you leave full and satisfied. The size of the restaurant is small and just kinda dark. If you plan on bringing less that 8 people, it’s the perfect spot. If you have a much larger party, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The food is delicious! Can’t get enough Malai Kofta and naan. The place is a little rundown and never really busy but the food is still good none the less.

Buffet was great… The service was also awesome. I could not believe how good the food was. Every thing was fresh and hot. The naan bread was very good…

I went back here in great anticipation of a great buffet, was here last year, but alas the buffet was anemic with very few dishes. so my sister ordered a lamb curry and i ordered a chicken curry, and 2 different types of naan. The rice was old and cold. the naan was tough and mediocre. My chicken curry was just OK, not much chicken, and overcooked. My sister’s lamb curry had way too much saffron so all you could taste was saffron, and a few chunks of old tough lamb. This is not the same place from last year, must have changed cooks/owners. When we left at 1230 there was only one other couple there… guess the word has gotten out at how bad the place has become. a shame… NOT recommended!

After having gone back a couple of times, the service has improved greatly! The food is usually good. We also visit their other restaurant in Dixon!

Very, very… average. While the food wasn’t bad, the space is sort of small, crowded with too many tables, and just seemed… tired and rather run down. If I was in VV, and having a hankering for Indian food, this wouldn’t be where I’d spend my money.

Although I am new to eating Indian food, the server was very polite and patient to explain the dishes to me. My boyfriend and I came here on a week night and we ordered the garlic naan, lamb curry and the chicken tikka masala. Everything tasted AMAZING! Great flavor, great service and large portions!

This restaurant was the first place I’ve ever experienced Indian cousin… EVER and that was a few years ago. Food was great, so great that I tried to branch out to other restaurant(s) in the bay area. In search of other restaurants I encountered the worst food poisoning EVERR and that made me take a long sabbatical from the indian food. Fortunately, my quality control specialist brought some of his wife’s indian food to a potluck and there we go! Indian cravings non STOP! I love Torch of India’s vegetable samosas. I have yet to find another place that makes samosas like theirs. Of course I love their Chicken Tikka Masala, the sauce itself… I could dine on with rice! lol… Everything that I’ve experienced here is on point. If you’re looking for culture and is in an adventurist mood! Here ya go!

The very BEST Paneer Tikka Masala I have ever had. That really is saying a lot because I eat Indian food all of the time and I have tried this particular dish at almost every Indian restaurant I visit and Torch of India does it the best. I don’t know why theirs taste so delicious, but it must be the combination of their lovely sauce and big chunks of cheese. Its a must have at this place. I’ve also tried their Veggie Pakora, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Aloo Gobi, Chana Masala, Naan, Cheese Naan and various other dishes, which have all tasted yummy. I try to hit this place up whenever I’m in the area. Not only is the food delicious but the staff are super friendly and helpful. They’ll even create a dish to cater to any dietary needs. I highly recommend checking this place out.

LOVE the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikki Massala, the Saag & Naan(the garlic is great!). The restaurant is small, shot gun style and nothing fancy, but the food is truly worth the visit. Some other reviewers mentioned the condition of the lunch buffet. It seems that sometimes there are more items in the buffet than others, but the food is always great. We even used them for catering a lunch at Kaiser. Would definintely recommend!

Lamb curry, how much I love you. Torch of India does a great lamb curry, which surprisingly reheats very well. And oddly enough seems to come out more tender from the microwave than when initially served at the table(Is this odd, or is it just me?) I can’t really judge the other food as I always get the lamb curry, spicy is the perfect amount of spice for me. I always have difficulty at Indian and Thai places as Indian and Thai spicy are a bit too spicy for me, but because a lot of places will cater to the area(the population that can’t handle spice), medium spicy can be bland as hell at a lot of places. So I am always trying to figure out which way to go and often times it ends up bland. But not so much here. The naan here is also excellent.

Ugh, this place was meh. I came here last week with a group of my friends after seeing that it got 4 stars on Unilocal. We had just finished a great, long day of shopping at the Vacaville Outlets, and were ready to dine on some delicious Indian — one of our favorite cuisines. When we arrived, nobody was there, so we were pretty excited because we thought we would get served quickly/get our food quickly because we were starving! BIGMISTAKE. We were greeted upon entry and our orders got taken quickly, but we waited FOREVER for our food! It took them at LEAST half an hour to give my friend her chai tea. A measly little cup of chai tea! And then we waited about an hour for our food! When nobody else was there except for an older couple in the corner that had arrived maybe 5 – 10 minutes after us, but they got served before us and left us wondering why we hadn’t been served yet. The food was pretty mediocre. I got the chicken tikka masala and it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. Great sauce, but the chicken just wasn’t doing it for me. Not something I would have waited one hour for. I’ll say one thing though — their naan was very delicious, and they had an assortment of different types of naan(ie. garlic, coconut, etc.). We got plain and garlic, but I wanted to try the coconut too because it sounded interesting. Overall I wasn’t so satisfied with this visit and I don’t think I’ll be back. It was my birthday celebration dinner too so that made the experience even more of a letdown because I was excited to celebrate my b-day with my friends. Oh well.

What? A good indian restaurant in Vacaville? Who’d of thought… I’m a sauces and rice kind of indian food lover, so I can’t comment much on the kabobs. But I have had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Tikka Masala and Chicken Achari and they were all very good. And I have yet to meet a garlic Naan I didn’t like… Show your military ID for 10% off!
