This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Vail! Their lunch menu is pretty awesome and cheap, dinner menu is awesome too! Try their Kungpao Chicken and Chicken Vegetables. You won’t regret it! Nom nom!

I only give it a 1 star because the food was edible… although not authentic Chinese. More importantly… I experienced VERY deceptive practices in the interaction. I ordered over the phone off the web. The final order was way overpriced(charging prices different from the web site). The prices were all different from the menu they showed me in the store when I was surprised at the $ 40 + bill… I wish I had turned around and left when I experienced this… When I got home, I saw the portions were very small, and I felt very deceived by their internet web site and them. I looked at it again and called them on how it was indeed their site I had read from. I was told, «that was another May Palace» when at the store… then…over the phone, «We have a new web site»… then I was told, «you are reading the lunch menu». Never an attempt to hear my complaint and remedy my ill feelings… Looking back, I realized their defensiveness was due to this not being the first time they were challenged for such practice. They did not care how I felt… as long as they could make a hefty profit… one way or another… no need to pretend you do not speak English well… that is just an excuse for bad practice… When you order after 8 p.m. the web site should be listing the evening menu… I never found an evening menu on the site after I went back to check. It did say«lunch» in small letters on the top… my problem for not reading the small print and questioning them I guess… However, why not give me a total amount when I ordered? Deceptive… and I believe they knew that… They called me back after I ordered to ask me if I was in Vail… they had to make sure they did not cook it up if I was at the«other» restaurant and I never showed at their’s… That would be a waste their time… but why did they not communicate the possibility of my reading the wrong site? Or that there were changes on their web site and their different prices? My guess is they were aware of the deception… I bet this did not just happen to me. I am very upset and dissatisfied. Over $ 40 for one 6 shrimp dish and two small vegetable dishes, and rice. Lots of rice!!! Unbelievable!!! I will never order from there again, and never go there… the food is definitely not worth another try. Extremely over priced. Not authentic. Very dishonest marketing. And extremely bad service and/or explanation for the deceit I experienced. Many better places to eat in the Valley.

This restaurant is the best Chinese food I have eaten in years. Based only on comparisons to other Chinese restaurants, I give it 5 stars for food! I would likely give it 3.5 in comparison to the vail restaurant sweet basil. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps, wonton soup, pork dumplings, and moo shu shrimp and had food for multiple meals! Delicious!

Food was not that great for the price. Chicken seems like yesterday’s left overs reheated… I know it’s Monday… But then maybe Monday should be discount day! Wish I had better stuff to say… Lots of Japanese places close, bummer!

This place is very sneaky. They charged us 18% automatic gratuity for 5 people. The waiter never told us until it was time to pay. They never came to check on us or refill our water. This is an Americanized Chinese food. They have all your typical Chinese-American food, Kungpao chicken, beef with brocoli, sweet and sour shrimp, etc. The price is reasonable compared to eating inside the resort.

Passed by this place on our way to the springs, May is a pleasant surprise. They have some of the best Tom Yum soup I had… specially good because I was dying for a restaurant that is not pretentious like the ones in Vail village.

We always come here when skiing in Vail. The price is really good for Vail, the food is decent and there’s parking. You don’t have to wait. Take out is easy too.

Decent atmosphere and food, but horrible service. The servers cater to you initially. However after you place an order, they seem to disappear from site. It’s nice to have the server check on you after you receive your food in regards to the food quality or if you need anything else. I had to get up to go to the bar just to get my water refilled. I’m a very patient person but the May Palace employees have me question that thought. Also, I believe the price is high compared to what you actually get.

Decent Chinese lunch stop, literally across the street from Vail ski slopes. We had their beef chow fun(rice noodles) and triple mix(shrimp, beef, and chicken) noodles. They also gave us a complimentary soup and green bean dessert.

Was here every day during my visit to vail. what else you can ask for if you can find nice traditional beef noodle in such a small town.

Get the eggplant with garlic sauce, it is great. Fried rice is good too. Decent prices for booze considering it’s Vail. Wine for $ 5 a glass.

The ‘dragon lounge’ is the bar kinda set off from the restaurant. One of the best happy hours in the valley. By far. Great deals on food and drink everyday. Bartenders are friendly and know what’s up. U can order food from whole menu as well. The bar is always full of locals who go in year round. Definately a place not to be missed out on

They have a pretty good fried rice with shrimp. I can’t really remember much about the restaurant itself but it’s a decent Chinese restaurant. It may be a bit on the pricey side, which is typical for this area.

I had forgotten how good the food is here. They feature lots of pineapple and mango in their dishes to add a nice twist to the sauces.

May Palace was listed in the restaurant guide left in the condo I was staying at while skiing at Vail earlier this week. I saw some veg options and was excited to check it out. It was very conveniently located from East Vail, about a 10 – 15 minute drive. I found the service somewhat lacking, our server was rather scatterbrained and I got my meal several minutes after everyone else with me(three other people) had been staring at their food for a while. As for the food itself, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the sesame tofu but it was somewhat tasty and at least quite filling. I was glad that Jeff ordered some broccoli with garlic sauce to give the meal more variety than just syrupy coated tofu would offer. Note to vegans: don’t order the hot Thai tea. It looked really weird and when I asked the server if it had dairy she said it came from a pre-made packet. I returned it, not wanting to take the chance. I know that iced Thai tea generally comes with cream, but I’ve never seen a hot Thai tea that wasn’t transparent, until now!

After a long day on the slopes, May Palace take-out helped restore some warmth to my chilly bones. My boyfriend and I split a beef chow fun and a Bangkok chicken, both of which were pretty tasty and well-prepared. Sure, it’s not Chinatown, but they neither under– nor over-cooked the chow fun noodles(which, if you’re an afficionado like me, you understand how important this is), and the beef tasted like actual! beef! Boyfriend thought the chicken was a little on the sweet side, but I just tempered it with a sprinkling of soy sauce. We devoured every bite. As others have mentioned, it is pretty expensive($ 30 for the two dishes), but the mark-up doesn’t appear to be more than that anywhere else in this isolated valley. The portion sizes were decent, but not what one would call generous. From what I could tell of the dining room from the entrance hall, it is comfortably upscale-Chinese, and dim. One final note — we called ahead and requested that the food be ready at a specific time so we could catch the bus immediately after picking it up, and they did not disappoint — the bag was ready to go but the food was still hot when we got it home. I definitely recommend it.

Pretty decent/average Chinese food. Not a restaurant I find myself absolutely craving or dying to have, but any time I really just want takeout Chinese to bring home, it has been just fine. We usually get the general tso and fried rice with crab rangoon. Definitely a bit overpriced for the quality of the food, but what can you expect in the Vail Valley. –If you are looking for outstanding Asian food in the Vail Valley though, you should go to Asian Spice Bistro in Edwards. It’s only 12 miles away, and the food there is to die for! After discovering Asian Spice Bistro, I probably won’t ever be back to May Palace again.
