After my mother received the results from a «handyman» search on , she contacted Bryan Morgan of Morgan’s Construction around May 26, 2015. Soon after, Bryan came to her home to provide a free estimate for several small jobs(her specific examples are listed below). His estimate was within her price range and he seemed confident that all the work would be done quickly and to her satisfaction. However, all of the jobs were poorly executed and sloppy, and are still not completed(it is now July 28, 2015). The following is an account of her personal experience: 1) Interior painting: Bryan and his«team»(wife) did a horrible job painting; paint splatter was discovered all over the floors, countertops, on appliances(the stove, washer and dryer); to date I am still removing paint splatter. My closet doors do not close properly. In addition, Bryan and his wife needed reminding for several jobs including painting the kitchen baseboards and sink cabinets. 2) Exterior painting: Even though a paint sample was collected for matching, the trim in one area was painted the wrong color. 3) Tree trimming: for the most part, the tree trimming was acceptable, but a few specified branches were not trimmed as requested. Again illustrating Bryan’s failure to follow instructions and perform quality work. 4) Sliding glass door screen: Bryan did take the screen to someone to get repaired and installed it when the repair was completed. 5) Unclogging the bathtub drain: Bryan did successfully unclog the bathtub drain, but made a hole in the exterior wall in order to access the pipes and has not returned to repair the hole despite repeated phone calls and attempts to contact him. Also important to note: Bryan noticed a steady stream of water coming from the tub faucet after the drain was unclogged, but didn’t discuss repairing the leak until I mentioned it to him. He said he would need to make another hole in my exterior wall to repair this leak, but since he never returned, I consulted a professional plumber who directly refuted that comment and repaired the leak without incident. 6) Installation of window blinds: the blinds in the living room were damaged during installation– the top looks broken and they hang crooked; in one of the bedrooms the blinds are not flush with the window. He also damaged the blinds in the den requiring me to replace them. 7) Tile floor installation: after the tiles were laid and grouted, Bryan told me that the grout had to dry before sealing the floors, I now know this to be untrue; he said he would come back to finish the work. Flash-forward to 1 month late, Bryan has not returned and is dodging my phone calls. I turned to Home Advisor as a «trusted resource» to find someone that could complete jobs that, were I not a senior citizen with health problems, I would have done myself. Bryan was unprofessional(consistently late and needing constant reminding to do jobs agreed upon), did poor work(as evidenced by specific examples above) and left a job that I paid for UNFINISHED. His attempts to avoid me prove that he does not care about customer satisfaction. Based on this experience, I don’t expect to consult Home Advisor in the future and CAUTION anyone considering Morgan’s Construction for any type of handyman service.
