Had diner there 2 nights ago. Party of 10 with kids. We were seated right away and were offered drinks. Our waiter asked me if I wanted prime rib so he could save one because they run out fast. Best decision made. It was amazing! The rest of the party ordered filet mignon, ribs and steak teriyaki. Everyone was really happy with their plates. For dessert we has the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream which was delicious! Our waiter was really courteous and nice to the kids. Will definitely go back on my next visit to Vail. Congratulations to the staff.

Spectacular service, great meat. Have been going every year for the past 10 years and it never disappoints. Definitely a staple for my family and friends.

A group of 15 of us went to Russell’s two weeks ago for my bachelorette party. The manager, Michael(?) was incredibly accommodating and went out of his way to make sure it was an unforgettable experience. The service was impeccable, much care was taken to ensuring that we were taken care of and that we were satisfied. On top of the great service was the impressive food! The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, was full of flavor, and you can tell that their meat is good quality. The sides were delicious! I loved the mashed potatoes(SOGOOD). There were a lot of places in Vail that had contracts or prix fixe menus for such a large group, but Russell’s allowed us to do what we wanted. We needed the ability to have more than 3 choices based on varying dietary constraints. I would highly recommend going for dinner! It is definitely on my list of amazing spots to visit in Vail and I would absolutely go back. It’d be a great place for a date night too :)

Trout was overlooked, dry. Wait staff let water glasses go empty. Wine order was a long time arriving. $ 150.00 for 2 people??? Not exactly an outstanding culinary experience.

Amazing dinner! Great service. We both had the surf and turf and were so glad we picked here. The filet was on point! Awesome deals during off season(we went this past week).

Really wonderful restaurant with A+ service thanks to Ken. The surf and turf is totally worth it and amazing and can probably be shared between 2 people. The king crab legs were especially great. Great escargot, sausage appetizer, and tuna sashimi. My husband really liked his ribs and the potato gratin each entrée comes with is pretty great. No complaints. Not the greatest meal of my life but very solid, great food.

We had a great meal here last night together with some friends of ours. We absolutely loved our food — the wiener schnitzel was fantastic, New York strip perfectly cooked and so tasty and the baby back ribs were excellent. Great warm bread and Caesar salad too. All provided with wonderful and gracious service. Nice atmosphere too.

First time customer, in Vail for a business dinner… great service, I had an outstanding filet — cooked to perfection and thankfully not doused with a sauce that masks the flavor! Side dishes of green beans and potato gratin were just ok. The hot bread was very good and we had fantastic tuna sashimi as an appetizer. The wine list looked good although we didn’t order alcohol(strict business meeting rule). I didn’t try the crab legs but others did and enjoyed them although they were quite pricey(to us Pacific and Atlantic beach based residents) but I assume it’s because we were no where near an ocean ;)

So this is honestly one of the best filets in Vail without a doubt. And it is definitively the best If you are a filet and bernaise lover this is your place. I would even say it is better than the Chophouse and Elway’s. The other player are good and not A++, but the steaks are spot on awesome. I would pass on the chicken though, over cooked. The potatoes are to die for and the bread and butter are fantastic. Also try to call ahead and get a seat next to the creek.

Kent was our waiter(like Clark Kent, as he put it)… Outstanding service. Great appetizers(minestrone was the soup of the day), the Cesar was great. We all went with the steak Diane and were nothing but impressed. I don’t frequently give 5⁄5 as I don’t have the appetite, patience, or mercy but they exceeded expectations on all levels.

Poor customer service, our food was barely warm, my boyfriend got sick off the chicken. Beware. They have deleted my review twice now!

Decent steak place. Definitely good enough if you are tired and hungry after a day on the slopes. Our kids shared the ribs which they devoured in short order. I had the blackened rib eye. It was good but I wasn’t overwhelmed with the blackened flavor, it might have been better just grilled which good steaks usually are. They were packed up pretty quick, so make sure to have reservations.

Russell’s is right next to the covered bridge in Vail. The service was good, and they accommodated us even during the Championship week. Wine prices weren’t too bad, but the selection was tight. The food was good and presentation was excellent. We would return.

My wife and I are visiting from Fort Lauderdale Florida and looking for a nice steak dinner. We wondered around and randomly stumbled across this place. Even though some of the Unilocal reviews are poor we are big on creating our own opinion and giving places a shot… this place was some of the most amazing food I have had in a long time. My wife had the king crab and 8oz filet and I had the prime rib. Nothing skipped a beat(ie: service, appetizers, drinks, etc.)…the manager Michael Scola even took the time to ask is how everything was… the prices were a bit high but let’s be real nothing in Vail is cheap. If you are looking for a great sit down steak dinner this is the place. Bottle of wine, salad, tuna app and two steak dinners with king crab, $ 200…We will be back… Thanks Russels!

My family has been coming to Russell’s for as long as I can remember, and it feels like no trip to Vail is complete without their potatoes au gratin. I almost always order the steak teriyaki, and I’ll start with the French onion soup if I’m really hungry — both are excellent. And we *always* order the potatoes au gratin — two orders if we’re with a big group. The potatoes au gratin are easily the best side dish in the Vail Valley! The only thing I don’t like about Russell’s is that it can be tough to get a reservation at a desirable time and we almost always have to wait for our table even though we have reservations(but it’s rarely more than 10 minutes).

Two of our four diners ordered the T Bone steak as our entrée. The T Bone steak was a disappointment — the filet portion was a «B» but the New York potion of the steak really Flunked with a «D» at best.
