Host was rude. 4 of us came into a totally empty place at 11:45. One in our party was on crutches and we were waiting for 2 moe. Host refused to seat us, other than a high bar stool, for the person on crutches. The place remained empty and we tried again with no luck . Supposedly, this was restaurant policy. They need to change their policy. It’s not a Saturday night.

So this place is perfect to sit on the patio and have a drink and appetizer. Personally I prefer the mix of casual and fancy in a happy hour style dining on the patio. The location, atmosphere, and patio view onto the ski area is great! The pricing is a little bit steep, but doable. I love their grilled elk quesadilla with a nice glass of wine. They used to have a Burrata cheese appetizer that is no longer on their menu. I go to Vail annually and found it off their menu this year. A good changing menu can be good too. Helps you expand your choices! I also enjoy their salads. Their service is good and I will be back!

Had breakfast here, quite honestly only because the wait at The Little Diner was close to an hour. Very nice ambiance with amazing view looking at mountain. Breakfast was just ok. I had ordered an omelet with cheese and other things. They forgot the cheese and after waiting quite a while for our breakfast in the first place, I wasn’t about to wait for a new one. Go to The Little Diner. Worth the wait!!!

My husband and I went to the Tavern 3 times while staying in Vail. Two times after snowboarding all day and one time for dinner. We enjoyed it every time. Great staff and bartenders. The food was great as well and reasonably priced. We’ll be back next year for sure.

I stay in Lions Head Village about 3 – 4 weeks per year so I eat out a lot between here and Vail Village. The Tavern has always been a good lunch spot and occasion dinner if we’re feeling something more casual with some good go to menu items. Recently they cut their menu by about 60% and there are barely any entrees to order now. All of my group had trouble finding something to order, but we ate and paid and decided it was our last time at the Tavern. I’ve eaten here probably 20 – 30 times in the last 5 years and I’m not sure why they changed things so much. I would head to Vail village to find better restaurants. Lions Head seems to be dwindling with options and quality these days, it’s too bad.

I only tried their appetizer and dessert so I couldn’t say much here. Great place to hang out with your friends. I believe they have live music I just don’t know when they play. The menu is simple and short not much to choose from. I tried their garlic fries and something coffee or cappuccino pudding I forgot what it was but it was good. The service was ok could’ve been worse. They have many waiters and yet we waited long time to get our check or even the drink that we ordered.

8PM, Thursday. Superior service. Ali is a spectacular waitperson! Great atmosphere. Cool décor. Two bars. Cell phone charging station. Wifi. Large TVs. Live musician. The bacon Bloody Mary was very good. The bacon is candy-coated. Two pimento-stuffed olives. One slice of lemon and lime. The Caesar salad was excellent. The cheese was shredded instead of sliced. The small crostini was excellent. The fries are frozen. The Barbeque and Hot wings are excellent. They were winglets, not drummies. The bone-in pork chop is excellent. The cut was excellent with minimal fat. The seasoning could be kicked up a notch. The apples and beets side was okay. The au gratin potatoes were okay. The pretzel rolls were excellent. Except for the 99¢ wings, it’s a little expensive, but fun!

We enjoyed the live music and good atmosphere. Food was better than we expected and it was all reasonably priced for Vail. I recommend the Tavern burger cooked medium with sweet potato fries. Will probably come back.

This has great food and bartenders but the hostess Nolan has got to be the biggest jerk off in the entire village. We come here at least once a week and this guy ALWAYS has an attitude, like he’s running a prison or something. Get rid of this guy, ruins the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. Also the waiter Wheeler is a schmuck as well, who is hiring these people?

We enjoyed arpre here the 2 days we were on the mountain. Great location, good drinks, great food, good service(with exception of the fact there’s no service on the patio, thus the 4 stars).

I really like this place. The food is good and it is cheap for Vail standards, not to mention is is right by Lions Head and the view is fantastic. Try the bbq grilled chicken blt, it’s divine!

Don’t eat here! My in-laws are local with a home in vail. We come out to vail several times a year. This has been a staple for my family for the last few years but this year something completely different happened. We got seated at 1 and didn’t leave till close to 3. It took and hour and a half to be served our lunch. When it was finally brought out to us my father In Laws chili was cold. The server, Daniel, was great and looked flustered with the kitchen running behind. He comped one glass of wine for my in-laws and my beer which I wasn’t able to drink. My two year old hadn’t eaten because the edamame took 1.5 hrs to get to the table. So we had to leave.

This place is beyond ridiculous. They’re located in Vail, Colorado, a very prestigious resort, and they manage to ruin my night. I come with my colleagues and expect a good meal, however they deny me of the only thing I request, chicken wings. How in the world do they not have chicken wings. I’m disgusted this place is still in business. I highly advise for others not to visit in the future.

Their pasta I had was good. I believe I have the baked ziti with veal meatballs. I had no issues with anything. The service was quick, our waitress was Olivia and she was very pleasant. She went above & beyond to get information for me regarding the gondola! I appreciated her service. I would come back.

My wife and her parents and I decided to have breakfast here before enjoying all that Vail had to offer. I wasn’t expecting much because most food establishments in mountain towns don’t go the extra mile to provide quality food and service… especially during the off season. From the get go, the staff was awesome. Our waitress was exceptional and provided excellent recommendations. It’s not often that you get four people to say great things about their meals. I highly recommend the Rancheros Benedict!

We got caught up in the Little Diner hype and couldn’t wait for 45 minutes to sit on bar stools for breakfast. So we wandered around and found the Tavern while we were waiting for them to call us for our seat. Tavern is what you want when you can sit outside. You want a view. You want no hassle service. You want decent food. Ordered — waffles, pancakes, elk sausage, bacon, orange juice, coffee. All of it was good and it would continue to be a destination for breakfast. It’s very easy to ruin breakfast basics. I don’t understand but I’ve experience it many times.

Sunday morning… Pretty poor for Vail. Staying at the Arrabelle with exception service and we went to the Tavern on the Square at the base of Eagle Bahn Gondala. Service is slow… Food comes after 30 minutes and cold, no silverware, napkins or condiments. I had to ask 3 different servers in 3 separate occasions before everything showed up for our very cold breakfast. I am in the hospitality business and I would terminate staff if they do not have their eye on the customer experience… Thank you for the exception experience! NOT!

Great, reasonably-priced lunch and dinner in Vail. With patio seating overlooking the Creek, this is a perfect spot to capture a taste of Vail without overspending. Thai spring rolls were delicious, fully loaded sandwich is highly recommended. Ask for outdoor seating — worth the wait!

Went here for the breakfast buffet. $ 24 for a buffet that’s comparable to a free continental breakfast at a Marriott. The only thing that was really great about it was the omelet station. I probably won’t go back, but it’s nice that it’s located in the heart of Lionshead Village, directly across the ice rink. I had to pay extra for espresso.
