Oyster guy drops oysters on the floor, picks them up, and puts them right into buffet.

Really wasn’t that bad. I’ve been to worse buffets. Lots of selection and very affordable prices. Some things are better than others. It’s clean and the wait staff was efficient and friendly.

Got there for Saturday dinner buffet. The place is large with people filled and the dishes were refilled very quickly. We loved frog legs, shrimps, and other seafood. Beef was good. Our waiter was friendly and fast. The restroom was clean. We paid our check at the front since everyone was doing it.

Wrong phone number. Right number is 229−293−0642 A normal good selection you can find at any hibachi buffet. Some taste more salty than others, some doesn’t have enough salt. Overall, good was decent. Staff members were nice. Manager was not. No happy face. He was yelling and scolding a waiter when we walked in. Not a direct problem to our experience, but I wonder how people still work so nicely under his supervisor. Great attitude staff members here possess!

Meh. This place is for people who don’t care about the quality of their food, as long as there is an unlimited amount of it to stuff themselves sick with. I enjoy a good Chinese buffet from time to time, but this is not one of them. I pretty much have a cast iron stomach but actually felt sick toward the end of the meal. Service was indifferent. I won’t be back.

We came here based in the reviews… there was plenty of food, but most of it was old and dried out… probably fresh for lunch, but not dinner time, when we visited. We will pass next time.

At Chow Town you’re going to an Asian buffet. It’s pretty big and the seating is pretty open, although you usually will sit in the main room unless you have a party. The atmosphere is simple and the food is decent. I’ve been to a few Asian buffets and this unfortunately seems to be the best in its area. Pros: It’s a buffet bro. Hibachi Sushi(I don’t trust buffet sushi but if that’s your thing) Cons: Nothing too special Can get loud but that’s part of a buffet Limited selection IMO Biased cons: I’ve had a few bad run ins with the guy who charges you. Kinda tossed my debit card at me as opposed to handing in my outstretched hand. Maybe he had a bad day maybe he hates me. I still go there, I’m just weary that maybe something is being done to my food. Probably paranoia at best. As far as I can tell Chow Town does it’s job. It’s a buffet and you get with that what comes with it.

This place is designed for college students and some locals, the buffet items I’ve tasted have been decent however there are some items like the jello which have mysterious hard crusty pieces in them which threw the whole entire meal off. There is not not a very wide variety of foods to choose from all well. The décor inside is very dark and remind you of sitting in a cave if you’re not on one of the ends at a restaurant with windows. Over all if you are looking for quick cheap buffet meal this is the place to be otherwise go to another restaurant if possible.

Decent for the price. They have a large selection including sushi, Chinese food, some other more traditional American food and a hibachi cook. I have not tried the hibachi here so I do not know if the cook is any good. The Chinese food is a little to sweet for me in regards to the different sauces(honey chicken, sesame chicken). The sushi is ok but can be a little old depending on how late you go during the lunch period. But again for the price it’s very hard to beat this place. I will definitely go back for a cheap lunch that will fill you up.

So, we got in the car and drove around looking for a non-chain place to have dinner. We were coming up empty, so my husband« Unilocaled» the area, and came up with Chow Town. Despite pretty good reviews we had low expectations, but y’know — this place isn’t half bad. Clean(as others pointed out), plenty of variety, and pretty good food. Excellent hot and sour soup, better sushi than one finds in some other buffets, Mongolian grill, crab legs… I had no complaints. Even the dessert bar was good; my daughter and I enjoyed little pineapple treats in phyllo dough, that I’ve never seen elsewhere. This was indeed a better option than Red Lobster!

Happened upon this joint while we were in Georgia visiting family, and I must say… for your average run of the mill chinese buffet. it wasn’t half bad. First thing I noticed as we walked in was that, quite shockingly, it was impeccably clean. From the buffet stations, to the floor, to even the bathrooms… quite impressive. The space alone is HUGE with 2 large dining rooms… not surprising since its located near a college campus. Valdosta, Georgia is pretty small, and while I’m not yet acquainted with the more preferred dining establishments around the area, Chow Town Buffet turned out to be a pretty good find. Food: 6 main buffet stations, plus separate stations for sushi, hibachi, and dessert. Large selection, including raw oysters(which mom loved), plus a few standard american dishes(pizza, fried chicken, etc.)…OH and lets not forget the frogs legs. Which brings me to this: FROGSLEGS??? Hell NO. I mean, I could never EVER picture myself hanging out with friends and saying«Damn, I’m starving, I could TOTALLY tear up a plate of frogs legs right now!» I don’t care if it’s a delicacy or not, when I saw those frogs legs at the buffet, I almost lost my appetite just thinking about all those poor froggies out there rolling around in wheelchairs… shameful…ok now where was I… Oh yes, the food. Quality? Nothing spectacular. Hibachi(chicken, pork, and/or steak with ample mix-ins) was good, but not great, according to my stepfather, who went on to say that the sauce he picked out(garlic) was too salty. Mom loaded her plates up with seafood… some I recognized… most I didn’t. I don’t eat seafood, so it’s hard to tell which sushi is which and what fish is what, but I can say that she was very full when we left, and I heard no complaints during the meal… thank God. As for myself, I didn’t go for anything out of the ordinary. Sesame chicken, fried rice, eggrolls, chicken broccoli, won ton soup, etc. It was all average tasting, definitely not the worst I’ve had, so like I said before… not half bad. Service: Lightening quick with the drink refills, and clearing the dishes from the table each time we stood up. Hostess at the front(didn’t see a nametag) was super friendly as well. In Closing: $ 4.99 buffet price from monday through friday, which is great if you’re nearby, starving, and on a budget. I’m sure there are better places to eat in the vicinity, but I’ll catch up with those on future trips. Chow Town Buffet had a nice atmosphere, ok food, and polite staffmembers, and it’s hard to come across all 3 qualities in ANY buffet, let alone a chinese one. All in all, I’d say it was a pretty good experience!

Really decent buffet with good selection and efficient staff. Stopped for lunch and was surprised at the variety of classics, hibachi, sushi and seafood. The selection of sushi at lunch is limited to veggie/cream cheese rolls and imitation crab meat but drown it in enough soy sauce and wasabi and it’s all good. Load your plate up at the hibachi bar and hand it through the window if that’s what you’re after. The classic items are fine – some a little chewy, but overall good. For $ 6 + tax it’s hard to beat.

The buffet in Valdosta is awesome. We went there twice during our trip to and back from Florida. The food is fresh and tasty. There are enough choices for everybody(4 years old to 80 years old).

For a buffet, this place is pretty good. Lots of options, not just Americanized Chinese food and that funky plastic looking cheese pizza you always see. The sushi is pretty good too. They have ice cream and soft serve, but I advise staying clear of that. Kids are always over there sticking their fat fingers in the ice cream buckets. Overall, not bad.

This is my husband’s favorite place to go. There is a server there a tall male and everytime we have gone we have had him and he is the best! We had read on other review sites that the service was bad but he proved them wrong. The food makes this the best Asian food buffet in town. There are so many delicious varieties all cooked perfectly and not oversalted. Sometimes these places oversalt for«flavor» but not here. I am a big sushi fan but most of the sushi has cream cheese or avocado in it so I had to pick that out. The salad bar is fresh and everything is clean and organized. The dessert bar is obviously all store bought BUT it is much better than the other buffets that have just fruit and pudding. They have cakes, pies, cookies, brownies and ice cream! The mint chocolate chip reminds me of Baskin Robbins.

This has previously been Marco Polo and Hibachi Grill both of which were the absolute worst buffets in history. I was terrified to try this place but am so glad I did. It is now owned by the people who own the super successful New China Buffets which are all over mid Georgia. This one is very similar to their Macon location which we loved. The food is really decent for a buffet and the sushi is even really good and has a fairly large selection. The staff is for the most part extremely friendly and always make out while family feel welcome. They are really food with our toddler who loves to go and play with the waitresses. All in all I recommend this place.
