Eating a Daylight Donut is kinda like eating the grocery store brand food. It’s fine, it’ll do for the sugar rush, but you know that Krispy Kreme is gonna taste better. Fortunately for Valdosta — Daylight Donut exists to bring the lower end of donut franchising home. This particular location, on Bemiss Road, is a bit of an odd item. It’s not listed on Daylight’s website as a real«franchise» location and, in fact, they don’t even make the products here. This location appears to exist as nothing more than an extended sales arm of the other location on Inner Perimeter road. As such, it’s sometimes hit and miss. You get to avoid the horrible parking situation at the in-town location — you get to avoid the crowds that swarm that location as well. You also get to avoid freshly made hot food. Sometimes they’re also out of product. On my most recent donut-run I got there and asked for the sausage-pastry wraps. The lady behind the cash register shrugged and said, «I didn’t get any today. They brought the donuts but no sausage. Not sure why.» I’m pretty sure this location exists soley as a way to tempt people driving to Moody AFB in the morning to pick up a dozen for the squad office.
