Pricey but excellent java, and the breakfasts and lunch time sandwiches are made from scratch and expertly so. Very nice place for a repast in Downtown Valdosta at the corner of North Patterson St. & Central Ave.

By far my favorite coffee shop in Valdosta! Grassroots is conveniently located in downtown Valdosta and offers many options that other coffee shops don’t have. My favorite aspect here is the option of pour-over or French press coffee. The staff is also very friendly and the location is very cool with local art scattered along the walls. I’m personally not a fan of their lunch sandwiches but their breakfast is spot on with my favorite sandwich being the breakfast BLT. If you want a good cup of coffee/a good breakfast/a comfortable place to work, Grassroots is the place to be.

A pretty cool coffee shop with good coffee plus iced tea, pastries in the morning, a very friendly and helpful staff, and a space that can only be described as gianomous. I expect the latter is the silver-lining benefit of downtown retail space being rather inexpensive right now, but in any event it’s certainly quite welcome. There’s some outside seating, apparently wifi(which you’d expect and other patrons appeared to be in use of but I didn’t use myself so can’t be certain). The prime location just across from the courthouse square is certainly a bonus, too. Also, they have artwork(some pretty impressive examples when I was there, at that) on the walls and feature local live music on some nights.

Delicious coffee, wonderful lunches(only after 10 am). I don’t think it’s as cozy as their Thomasville location, but it’s the best Valdosta has to offer.

Came here with my boyfriend visiting from Florida at the Valdosta Wakeskate compound and had the best veggie sandwich of my entire life. I went here every day the whole weekend for the same sandwich. Great atmosphere, great food, great price, and the coffee is super good too(with free refills). The best.

Great food, the sandwiches are hand made and always fresh and tasty. Wide selection of coffee and other drinks, and the staff is friendly and service oriented. My favorite stop downtown.

Best coffee shop in Valdosta by far! Good coffee, good people, good food. If you’re looking for the optimal coffee experience, indulge the in a Chemex pour of one of their medium blends. It’s definitely the best way to truly taste your coffee(recommend: Honduras, Tanzania peaberry).

I really enjoy this Café. It is a new name in town that replaces the previous café that was in the same spot. The menu has unique items that you won’t find out either Ellianos nor Starbucks. The mood inside is very relaxed and allows for a customer to sit and unwind for a bit to converse with friends or to hold a meeting or to study. The baristas are very friendly in have no problem offering suggestions if you have a question. While the service may not be the speed of Starbucks they do make up for it in customer service. If you are in downtown Valdosta definitely give this place a try!

The Greek salad was very good. The laid back atmosphere and location makes this an ideal lunch time location for downtown Valdosta employees. I highly recommend their breakfast too.

I’ve been trying to think of an excuse to drive downtown so I can visit this place for the first time, and today was the day. The staff is extremely friendly and the coffee is amazing. I had a chai latte and my boyfriend had a café mocha. I even said out loud that this was one of the best chai lattes that I have had, and he said his drink was delicious. I love the layout of the place. It feels very spacious while homey. The exposed brick wall with local artwork really grasps downtown Valdosta’s vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Fabulous coffee served by knowledgeable and attentive barristas. We had lattes that we wanted served at a specific temperature and it was done perfectly. The only down side is the music is a little too loud to facilitate easy conversation without needing to repeat yourself a lot.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Grassroots Café. The atmosphere is upbeat but relaxing, and they serve a fantastic dirty chai! I also appreciate the fresh chicken salad on a bed of very fresh mixed lettuce. Thanks for making a great space for people to chill out.

Went for a friend’s book release party. Great ambiance, and their Chai Tea Latte is delicious! Would definitely go again. Kind of hard to find since it’s located downtown, so not many people know about it, but I’m going to spread the word.

We have family in Thomasville and LOVED going to Grassroots there! We got stationed in Valdosta and were ecstatic to see Grassroots opening up here! This is a much much MUCH needed coffee shop here! I hope it brings more and new exciting things to downtown Valdosta. Anyway, we went opening day and had a blast. I ordered a Vanilla hot tea and my husband ordered a thin mint frappé and an everything bagel with their house garlic cream cheese. OMGLOB delicious! The vibe of this place is awesome! There is plenty of seating indoor and out. Love you guys and you will definitely be seeing more of us!

You know you’re in for a nice coffee shop when the first thing you see is a Chemex. Grassroots easily has the best coffee in Valdosta — not a hard thing to do, given the competition is only Starbucks and Ellianos, but still — it’s great stuff! We’ve needed this for the past four years I’ve been in town. I do wish they were open on Sundays. Oh, the South.
