We came in for an early dinner Saturday night. The place only had one other family there. We almost walked out thinking that it was closing for some reason. But we were greeted and seated right away. The staff were really nice and we had high hopes because this place is usually packed. The Bang Bang shrimp lived up to it’s expectations. It was the rest of the food that brought the rating down. My husband had the crab cakes and steak. He asked for the steak to be medium but it came out well done. I told him to tell the server but my husband is not one to say anything and he was extremely hungry so he just ate it. The potatoes au gratin that accompanied it were dry as well and his crab cakes were burnt in some areas. I had the fish and chips which honestly I could’ve gotten at Carl’s Jr. The fish may have been fresh like they claim, but the batter was just heavy and greasy and the fries I’ve had better at In N Out. Don’t know if I’ll be back.

We came in several months ago for our first visit, but I forgot to write a review then so this one is very late, and therefore will be limited based on my limited memory. I do remember that when I walked in for the first time, I was impressed. The décor is much nicer than it appears from the outside. It has a very cool, trendy ambience, which is not what I imagined from how it looks outside. The drink and entrée prices were both very reasonable. I had a Manhattan, which I was happy with, and my wife ordered some drink(I forget which) but she was happy with it too. We started with the bang bang shrimp appetizer($ 6), which we were basically told was a MUSTTRY by a family member. It is a must try, so I will pass that recommendation on here as well. For my entrée, I ordered a special which included lobster tail, but it was only priced at $ 17.90. It included 3 courses so I was blown away by the price. And the lobster was a decent size, unlike at a place like Red Lobster where you look at your plate when it’s delivered and think, «Where is my lobster?» I recall they have different specials based on the day of the week. The food was all good and with 3 entrees(including 1 kids meal), an appetizer and 3 or so alcoholic drinks, the bill only came out to approximately $ 75. I was very happy with our experience here and will definitely return. I recommend you do the same. You’ll be happy you did.

Dined for the first time last Wednesday. Pleasant ambiance upon walking in. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I met friends here, and one is becoming a regular. On her suggestion I ordered an Ultimate Infused Dirty Martini, Ketel One Citroen vodka infused with olives for 3 full days. Serviced icy cold in a frozen martini glass with bleu cheese stuffed olives. Filled so high, each glass had a meniscus at the top. Excellent choice! They also bring bread to the table(I’m told sometimes you have to request), with a seasoned olive oil dipping sauce. The bread is perfection fresh from the oven, and the sauce is similar to a chimichurri. if they would bring it out in a shot glass, I’d happily partake! That and their house salad, and I could be very happy for dinner. except that there’s more. One friend ordered the Wedge Salad, and Grilled Rainbow Trout with a signature sauce, and their au gratin potatoes which are diced in tiny cubes. Our other diner had the Grilled Lamb Chops, ordered medium rare. When they arrived more medium well than medium rare, the server pleasantly took the plate and brought out a fresh one, with chops cooked to perfection! I ordered their House Salad which arrived on a well chilled plate, and their Fish & Chips with the fries cooked Belgian style — cooked extra well. The fish was moist and tender with a light, crispy coating and the fries were just right! Good enough that my dining pals were happily snagging them off of my plate. All meals were delicious. no complaints! We were too full from the two breads, drinks and dinner to order dessert. Next time, we will save room! For the budget conscious who would like to come here more often, they have a «Hooked on Tuesday» special where starting at $ 14.90, you get your choice of salads, an entrée and dessert. For the quality and service, I’d say that’s a good deal! Mondays in June are Martini Monday. We will definitely be back — with more friends! (how did the location in Northridge fail?)

Came here during the week for a business lunch for 4 at noon. The place was not full and we were seated right away. The parking lot had valet parking if you want or like me walked a bit from parking down the hill near Sears Auto repair. Server Chelsea was a joy to be served by. Great smile and she knew the lunch menu! Ordered calamari which was perfect not too bready or oily. I had the fish and chips which came out perfect! Lightly breaded and the fish was moist! Perfect fries too. We also ordered the fish sandwich which came out perfect also. Also ordered the Cobb salad which was also great. One negative was the Arnold Palmer that tasted like dish water. No lemonade to taste! Must have been the bartender who did not know the drink. This was our 2nd time here for business which was a whole lot better than our 1st experience 3 months ago! Glad this time was 5 stars due to a large part to Chelsea!!! We will be back for more business lunches!

We had the most horrible server. Wish I could have caught his name. It’s a long story but we went to Sunday brunch asking about the gluten free menu and our server informed us that the filet minon is part of the 19.90 brunch. Of course he lied, it was not. Such horrible service. And if you’re trying to get a gluten free meal, in which case I was, expect them to know Absolutely NOTHING about gluten free. Absolute worst service I have ever had. Hope that half ass miserable server that served us gets put in his place and gets fired for his miserable service!!!

My husband and I went a bonefish grill recently to try their 2 for $ 50 special, specifically their soft shell crab. I love soft shell. It was more like a crab cake in a shell that is braised in butter. I was slightly disappointed and told our server this wasn’t what I had expected. Don’t get me wrong — it was delicious. She mentioned it to the managing partner, Della. When she brought the bill, she said Della had told her to take 15% of the bill. Della came over and we talked about the dish. She said they were reluctant to put it on the menu because many Californians don’t know soft shell crab. This is the BEST customer service! Well definitely be back!

We have been here for several brunches and have had nothing but the best experience. The food and drinks are too shelf and are excited to spend more sunday brunches here.

This place is super busy. Make sure you have a reservation or you’ll be waiting more than 20 minutes. The atmosphere casual and nice. The staff are nice and friendly. For appetizers we got the Bang Bang house special and Wagyu beef potstickers. Both fantastic. Main course Ahi Seared Steak with Jasmine rice and spinach. My wife had it medium rare. I prefer rare. Sea Scallops and Shrimp with potato au gratin and Cole slaw. Everything on my plate was absolutely delicious. One thing about eating seafood, you still have room for dessert. So I decided to get my favorite, crème brûlée. Want to give props to our most excellent waitress Ivanne(Eve) who made our dining experience a great pleasure.

I’m having their Pecan Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout, Steamed Broccoli, French Fries, and their Jen’s Jamaican Coconut Pie for dessert! This is my first time here! The ambiance is nice and refreshing.

We have tried this place off an on since they opened last year. It’s been hit or miss, but mostly miss. I really looked forward to having a Bonefish Grill in the neighborhood as I frequent them on the east coast and they are excellent. Not the case with this one, and tonight’s experience was probably the last attempt. Keep in mind the server kept passing by the table and saying, «How are you enjoying your ‘excellent’ dining experience.» It was far from that and her repeated statement only made it more vivid that she was completely tuned out of reality. The first bad sign. Tiny glasses of water with no ice that were only refilled after continuously searching for the server. Bread did not arrive at the table until we requested it. My wife’s entrée was undercooked and had to be returned to the kitchen. By the time it was returned I had already finished mine. So she watched me eat and then I watched her. Not an excellent dining experience at all. No offer to remove my wife’s entrée from the bill. No offer of free dessert. Nothing but I’m sorry from the manager and poor service for the whole«wasted our time» experience. Probably will not return unless I’m really bored or looking for a last resort.

Don’t believe the hype. Great presentation but the kitchen delivers a sub par entrée. The food doesn’t match the potential. The lineup of restaurants in the immediate area are far more appetizing then the food delivered at Bonefish. My meal was bacon wrapped scallops… boring. They threw together some lettuce and diced mangos but the appearance was far from appealing. Then I had the lobster stuffed shrimp. What a disappointment. The food was just bad. Quality was so bad and what is worse is managerial reaction. The manager at my request came to discuss my disappointment. Her first remark, «what is the small problem we are having.» Small??? My meal is cold and lacks any taste. Pretty big issue since I’m paying in excess of $ 25 for this. Providing me a coupon of bang bang shrimp isn’t going to help. I think this place has a good name but doesn’t have a kitchen to back it up. But that’s ok, the choices in the area are strong and getting stronger. I’ll be down the street, across the street, or around the way but not going back here.

I still come here often with my sister and a friend. The new drinks that were added to menu are great! The bang bang shrimp is a must! Matt and Anthony are the best! Get seated with one of them. Matt is knowledgeable of the menu(food and drinks), he’ll also recommend some of his faves. He’s friendly and checks up on you regularly.

I put 4 stars because it a little bit over priced, but trust me when I said it’s one of the best fish I ever eat in my life. Excellent cook, flavor and sauces for the fish. ITS A MUSTTRY!!!

I thought I had reviewed Bonefish Grill since we stopped by here after our return flight from Vegas on 3÷13÷16, even before making our way home first. Bonefish Grill was new to me, I wasn’t even aware that they had recently opened here but Jackie was. My wife had noticed their opening several months prior and really wanted to try them. Things started off well, after a short wait we were shown our table and given a very nice appetizer of warm bread and olive oil mixture to dip it in. Our server Matthew, seemed friendly and knowledgeable enough. My wife ordered the Rainbow Trout, requesting the sauce on the side, with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and French Green Beans. I ordered the Tempura Style Fish & Chips. Our orders took some 15 – 20 minutes but being that everything is cooked to order, no problem. Upon our foods arrival, my wife noticed that the sauce for her trout was not on the side but covering her fish, she always orders«on the side», even for dressings on a salad. Our server cordially apologized and came back with another plate as she had ordered. My fish & chips were very good, with the fish fried in tempura. Very crispy and flaky. The fries were tasty as well. I also appreciate the generous amount of tartar sauce provided with my order. These pieces of fish were humongous, just like at Seasalt Grill, though Seasalt was stingy on the tartar sauce. Jackie’s major complaint was with the mashed potatoes, too much garlic. The combination of her huge piece of trout only half eaten, and her mashed potatoes barely touched, caused our server on his return visit to our table, to falsely assume with the words«so I see you didn’t really care for your meal at all». To which Jackie replied; «only the mashed potatoes, too much garlic but I enjoyed everything else and would like to take the rest home». The final mix-up came with the dessert order. Jackie wanted to try the Macadamia Nut Brownie which the menu states comes with; raspberry sauce, vanilla ice cream, etc. After receiving the dessert, which I told her I only wanted to sample a portion of, I drizzled a bit of the raspberry sauce over a small portion and tasted it. More like a syrup you’d get at IHOP. We also both noticed that there was a rather thin topping of whip cream on top but no ice cream. Bringing this to the servers attention, he again apologizes with«oh, they didn’t put any ice cream on it? That’s happened several times lately. Sometimes they just aren’t thinking back there». So if this had been going on before, why didn’t the server notice the mistake and correct it before placing it on our table? He did bring us a small carton of ice cream, as we decided to take the rest to go. My wife used the much preferred Breyer’s Vanilla Ice Cream we had at home.

First and last time I ever eat at this place. I have no idea why I expected it to be decent but everything we tasted and ate was frozen, high in sodium and just the furthest thing from fresh fish I have ever seen. The mahi mahi was gross. The crab meat on top of the mahi was gross and fishy tasting. The«sashimi» was pan seared frozen tuna… GROSS. Everything was gross. So gross. I am grossed out just talking about it

Unilocal100CHALLENGEREVIEW2016 — 17⁄100 Wow! Best service ever. Sandra A. was our waitress and she has been by far the best one we’ve had. Friendly, attentive, and most of all she made us laugh. Kudos Bonefish Grill for having such an awesome employee. We went to the restaurant for my father– in — law’s birthday dinner. Since this was close to my husband’s work, we decided why not. Appetizer: Bang Bang Shrimp — It was so good my sister in law ordered it for her main. I can actually go for some right now. Main Course: Blackened baja fish tacos– Very good. Our waitress gave me a side of the bang bang sauce and it made the tacos even better. Ahi Tuna Steak– Delicious, but it is somewhat raw so if you’re not into it. This would not be a good choice.

Bone Heads Fish Grill! This is our second time here, I wanted to wait to write this review. Now I know why I waited… I would have given them 5 stars the first time, but after tonight numerous blunders, I’m not sure I’ll even be coming back. * Bang bang shrimp appetizer, very tasty 5 * Salmon, undercooked 2 * Ahi tuna seared, lacked flavor not seasoned 2 * Side of fries way too salty 2(over seasoned) * Blackened fish tacos, really good 5 * Fontina pork chop, great 5 * Filet mignon, practically came out cold(sent back) the replacement was a sirloin instead of a cut of filet mignon 1(they screwed up and cooked the wrong cut) * We had cheesecake and the coconut pie both excellent 5 **Just for the record the sirloin lacked flavor and wasn’t seasoned, also it was Luke warm… didn’t want to wait for another steak. So if you like to fill up on appetizers and deserts, I highly recommend Bone Fish Grill. Sure they apologized and took off the steak charge. But, if I was the manager I would have gone overboard and offered a discount on top to make sure I have repeat clients. Just keepin’ it real my «tall friend» The Real Foodie

A bone to pick at Bonefish Grill. On a Sunday night, the restaurant was dead with only a handful of tables. We ordered an appetizer to share and some entrees, none of which were extraordinary enough to mention. The worst part of it all was the service we received from Tyler. He had mentioned that there was a fresh batch of bread in the making and would bring it out, but it never came. He also forgot to put in our extra lobster tail order. But what really made me upset was when we ordered an extra entrée to take home for my aunt. The order came out in a box and lid like it was leftovers. We had to ask another server to get a bag and utensils for it. This was my last meal with my family before I moved and I’m sad we decided to go here. I guess I’ll need to make a trip back home soon to make up for the disappointment.

I’m torn because I’ve eaten here 2x and have had a mixed bag of experiences. However, the manager«tried» to make it right so I’ll give BoneFish a 3rd try and update my review. My first experience was a few days after they opened. I came early with a friend and we both had 10.00 off coupons. We asked the server if we could both use them and she said«I don’t see why not». The server offered us «artisan(however she pronounced it like the city Artesia) bread and a soy/olive oil blend of dipping oil. LOL. She said«I have to say Soy in case someone is allergic. As soon as I heard«soy oil». I passed and asked for real butter. I ordered the snapper special. It had some sauteed shrimp on top. I asked for no tomatoes. The dish came full of tomatoes, in a shallow bowl. I picked the tomatoes off and it was fine. The fish was cooked well and it was a nice portion. My friend ordered fish and chips and she did not enjoy it. At the end of the meal, we presented our coupons and were told«sorry, you both can’t use them». Excuse me, you already told us we could. We had a little back and forth and finally we were able to use them. The manager presented herself, apologized and gave us a couple coupons for bang bang shrimp. Next visit, it was my 2nd wedding anniversary and we came with 3 other friends. I told the hostess it was our anniversary. The server was nervous and awkward and lost our order so he had to come back and ask for it again. I ordered the same fish and it was terrible. There was a huge bloodline in the fish and I dont even think I was served snapper, it tasted more like mahi mahi. My wife did enjoy her burger and our other friends enjoyed their meals. At the end of our meal, no mention of our«anniversary» so I mentioned it again. The manager came over with 2 boxes of chocolates and said«I hear someone is celebrating a birthday». He presented a box of chocolate to my wife and myself. I said«its our anniversary, not birthdays». Then, when we got up to leave, the server walked up to our friends and wished them a happy anniversary. LOL. It was funny, but it wasnt. I did leave a comment on the Bonefish grill website and was contacted by the manager and sent a gift card to make up for the lack of service and bad fish. So, I’ll give them one more try before I give up on them altogether.

3 Stars for the location, design, and ambiance. 1 Star for the background noise. Extremely loud. 3 stars for the food, average for a seafood place. 2 stars for the service, very slow and unorganized. 2 stars average for this restaurant.
