I was impressed when I watched Tavi play classical guitar for Guitar Salon International. I contacted him and for the past 6 months have been traveling 150 miles each week for lessons. At the start, Tavi patiently worked with me to reduce stress on my back and to develop a confident playing style. He has a friendly, caring but firm approach to teaching that has made his lessons pleasant and positive experiences. I am now easily playing beautiful music thanks to his guidance. He is not only a great classical guitarist, but a superb teacher. I highly recommend him to anyone who is serious about learning to play classical guitar.

As a classically trained former professional clarinetist who has studied with some of the great pedagogs of the instrument, I had high expectations for a classical guitar teacher: a great technician with wonderful musicality and a gift for communicating to his students how to achieve mastery of the instrument. I found Tavi on YouTube doing demos for Córdoba Guitars and saw everything I was looking for. I have been studying with Tavi for four months and could not be more pleased with my progress. I have made it through most of the Parkening Method Book I already. While not letting me slack (he has a deep sense of responsibility toward his students) he has a great sense of balance and keeps in mind his individual students’ priorities and time constraints, and I so appreciate that. Yet he pushes me forward and helps me to be as efficient as possible with my available practice time. I am looking forward to studying the great classical guitar repertoire with him, and I couldn’t enjoy my lessons more!

Tavi is an top notch guitarist who not only can play the guitar, but can teach how to play the guitar. I have only been under Tavi’s instruction for a handful of months, but I have already seen great growth in my guitar playing. Tavi has helped me learn to not just play the notes and get by with it, but to work hard practically with the practice time I have. I mean this when I say that to pass up a chance to studying guitar under Tavi would be passing up a fortune. Because Tavi is gold.

Tavi is a world class teacher. I was able to study under him throughout my college career and was impacted heavily. I could not be the player that I am today if it werent for him and his regimen. The biggest lesson that I came away with was not only a large repetoire of music but discipline. It is a quality that not only stuck with me through music but also throughout the rest of my life. I would highly reccomend him to anyone who is looking to become disciplined in all things and to be a better musician whether you are a beginner or a well rounded player.

It has been amazing to see how quickly someone can learn to play classical guitar with the right teacher! I continue to be amazed at how much my son has learned in the 6 months he’s taken lessons. He is playing songs that I never imagined he could play, and is challenged every week to improve upon what he’s practiced. Tavi has helped him work on not only playing notes, but making every song beautiful by teaching him various techniques for «coloring» the music through dynamics and tonality. Truly, an experienced and skilled teacher is invaluable to any budding musician! You will not be disappointed!

My son has been taking lessons with Tavi for only a few months, and I am so happy with his progress. I don’t have to fight with my son about practicing (like I did when he played piano) because he too is enjoying the progress he’s making. Tavi is patient, gentle, yet firm in his instruction. His expertise and passion as a classical guitarist is so evident in the way he teaches.

If anyone out there is willing to be an excellent guitarist, this is the place to get your lessons. Tavi Jinariu is one of the most versatile guitarista i know. As a guitarist myself, my guitar life has literally changed through this man.
