Very disappointed in my recent experience here. I’ve been a patron of Hot Dog on a Stick(shamefully) since I was about 10. I’m a big fan of the cheese on a stick, so I got in line and placed an order for two. I was told, after ordering, that the cheese«has a tendency to explode.» Ignoring my wariness, I waited for my molten cheese sticks. Fifteen minutes later(which is an absurd wait time considering only 3 people were in line), I began observing the fry station and noticed that they were frying cheeses over and over. Every one they pulled out was exploding. Eventually, they gave me a tray with two blown up cheese sticks. I looked at it and asked them if this was normal. The response I received was, «Yes, this happens all the time. It’s totally normal.» Now, in about fifteen years of patronizing this stand(at other locations, mind you), I have never had an exploded cheese. I told them their oil was probably too hot, and left with my broken cheese sticks. Of course, immediately upon biting into one I discovered that it just tasted like pure oil. Proceeded to throw blown up cheese away, and won’t be going back. Certainly not the end of the world, but if you’re going to charge that much for cheese and batter, it should probably come out perfect. Lemonade as good as ever.

Not the Hot Dog On a Stick of the old days but okay for that craving while in the mall. It’s pretty pricy for the low quality dogs but then you’re in the mall.

Perfect for a quick and easy meal for the little ones! Thanks Jessi for great service, and dealing with the screaming kids!

Came here on national cheese day and they’re suppose to give outfree cheesesticks ;one per person. Well apparently management here don’t know crap about their franchise promos. One girl working all by herself and all confused. The mozzarella cheesesticks we got weren’t cooked all the way– cheese didn’t even melt and the batter wasn’t even cooked. Unbelievable and I will never return to this particular location. Their sticks are mostly cooked half as$ed.

My son’s favorite. Likes the cheese stick. The review is mostly about the staff. Great young man helped me today and was very friendly. Was multi tasking and still did a great job.

It’s the Wednesday before Christmas and they have one guy working. Really??? I heard there was a second guy in the back but he is nowhere to be seen. The guy is taking and order, making it, waiting til it completes and then takes the next. Omg, if my son didn’t want this specifically I would be gone. My wife has finished shopping and we are still in line. Food is always a 2 here, but services knocks you down to a 1 star. Slowest fast food ever. Management needs to get on the ball.

She who must be obeyed(the wife) was thirsty for their tasty lemonade. There was a person waiting in line in front of her shouting for an employee to appear and come take orders. After several minutes of standing around, she left empty handed… at least she returned with my $ ;) If they are only going to have one or two employees working, the least they can do is put one of those«be back in ___minutes» signs the kiosks use. I would say poor costumer service but I guess I can’t rate the service if there was none to begin with! Get it together.

I have been to this location on more than one occasion in which they do not have the sugar free lemonade. It is very frustrating to wait in a line that take 5+ minutes just to be told they don’t have it. 3 weeks ago I waited 20 minutes in short line of only 4 people because one employee was cooking and cashiering, while the second employee restocked items that could have waited. It was so bad the one person in front of me left after 5 minutes as well as people that lined up behind me. Poor customer service!!! This is the only location near me … Sadly!

I only get a craving for corn dogs like once or twice a year. But the only reason I like to eat here is for their Lite Lemonade. It’s refreshing, tart and I love that it’s sugar free.

This is the go to stop for my son when we go the mall. However, why I am actually taking the time to write this review has to do with the service we receive, particularly from Dustin. My son has high functioning autism, making certain actions that we take for granted, slightly more difficult. Being that he is almost a teenager, I’ve really been trying to get him into the habit of ordering his own food, doing his own transactions, etc… I usually step to the side, in case he needs my assistance… Long story short, Dustin treats my son like a human being and no different. He shows patience, that you usually wouldn’t see at a fast food place(My son has to spell out every part of his order). A lot of people take that for granted. Me, I appreciate every second my son feels like he’s not being treated any differently. Thank you!

I have been a huge fan of HDOAS for years and love there Lemonade so when I saw that you can order online and pick up in store I was so excited. I ordered 1 gallon of original lemonade for our camping trip from the Valencia Ca store. As I was ordering online there was a $ 1 coupon from there website because I was ordering online. Saving a $ 1 and getting the best lemonade ever, SCORE. So I go in to pick it up on Friday morning June 26, 2015 at 11 am and the lady gives me the total and it’s $ 1 more then what my receipt says. So I let her know and all she says is” well the online ordering is new so they must be working there kinks out”. I have a receipt for the total and that is what I should pay but NOPE. So anyway I paid the $ 1 extra and she gives me the lemonade and ask her where is the cups, she says you do not get cups. I tell her yes I do and it’s on the website when ordering 1 Gallon of Lemonade you get the 4 cute HDOAS cups to go with it. She asks me to see my receipt so I let her even though it does not show about the cups. She relents and gives me the 4 cups. Look I know that the online ordering is new but can you at least train your employee’s on what the customer is suppose to receive with there order. What is the point in ordering online and not getting what you paid for.

Typical HDOAS. The corndogs I ordered for my boys were cooked well and crispy. It is kind of expensive for corn dogs, but when you are in a mall food court you don’t have any other option really for corn dogs. The fries aren’t anything really special. The lemonade is pretty good… a little watered down. The employees were very friendly and got our orded out to us very quickly.

Wow – they didn’t really need to improve(they’ve sorta got a corner on the corn dog market), but what an improvement with the Nathan’s hot dogs! Now you have a choice between turkey dogs and the all-beef Nathan’s for 50 cents extra. So worth it! The beef dogs are much larger and tastier! The new flavor of Blue Raspberry Lemonade was something special. I have to say, they have really earner their four stars!

The food is just okay nothing fancy but from time to time my son wants a corndog so we come here. The food is over priced for what it is and the fries are nothing to write home about. The food here is just your typical mall food court food.

Whoever doesnt find joy in foods on a stick is dead inside… DEAD I SAY! Hot dog on a stick has always been the next best thing to things impaled by a stick besides visiting the county fairs. Their batter is sweet but not overpowering so it makes for an almost perfect corn dog! Crispy on the outside… soft & warm on the inside(using those kinds of descriptiver words together sounds dirty lol) My favorite is cheese on a stick. their american cheese on a stick is yummmm but im a big fan of pepperjack so PEPPERJACKMEUPEMPLOYEESINTHEWEIRDHATS… side bar… seriously tho… who the crap is evil enough to make these poor girls wear these penis shaped hats… terrible! anyways…back to food… the cheese on a stick is basically a block of cheese… shoved onto a stick. dipped in their delicious batter & fried to a crispy golden brown and TADAHHHH grilled cheese on a stick. It doesnt get any better than that!!!

Since I try to stay out of malls for the health and safety of my wallet… I only eat Hot Dog on a Stick at the LA County Fair. I happend to be in the mall(only because I was waiting for my nephew to finish up at the nearby courthouse) when the soon to be an 8th grade son called for sustanence! I opted for this place since we only have it once a year. I had never noticed that the dogs are made of turkey — which is great for the health concious but messed up for a true blue carnivore. I got 2 dogs on a stick and a pepperjack cheese on a stick for myself just to try it out. Its like a spicy grilled cheese. Also got a large lemonade and a large cherry lemonade. At the fair you are limited to lime-lemon or strawberry which I am allergic to. The young man helping me was nice, fast and helpful… sometimes you do save when you make it a combo. They batter as you order it so it was fresh and hot and the soon to be 8th grader was satisfied(if only for an hour or so). If I have to come back to the mall, this will be the place for a quick easy snack. Lemonade is still the best!

If you have never had it, they serve corn dogs, hot dogs, battered cheese in a stick, and great fresh squeezed lemonade. It is always the mall food of choice for me, but they get only three stars because of the prices. A hot dog on a stick, fries and a large lemonade for $ 9? Too much. Normally I wouldn’t bother writhing a review about a place like this, but I was pretty bummed when I stopped in on a Tuesday night after seeing a movie at the mall, and they had stopped their ‘dollar corn dog Tuesday’ promotion. I had been looking at this for over a year, and was thinking when will I ever be here on a Tuesday? When that day finally came, they stopped the deal. I am sure you can understand my disappointment… Damn you Hot Dog on a Stick!
