Dave and Scott have always taken good care of us! I coach a high school mountain bike team and get my team bikes tuned annually at Authorized Bicycle Shop. They always do excellent, thorough work for a decent price. My husband and I purchased our mountain bikes from the shop as well. They are quality, well assembled bikes that have given us years of enjoyment. Of course, we make sure to get them tuned up annually at the shop, too. I have nothing but good things to say about this shop and the work they do. They are locally owned and seem to put a lot of pride in their work/products. Definitely worth checking them out for any bike needs you may have!

I’m just trying to get to school on time in an hour. Ray’s Bike Shop in Fairfeild denied me saying that they couldn’t change my tires until tomorrow. I had to drive 20 minutes to Vallejo to Authorized Bicycle Shop and Scott made my wheelchair a priority. It ONLY took him 10MINUTES to change my tires. Awesome customer service! Thank you! Sincerely, LYDOlife

New to the area… Google Bike Sop in Vallejo… these guys were right around the corner so I headed in. The older gentleman with the grey hair and beard didn’t great me when I walked in… which I’m big on… however when I said hello so did he and I gave him a 2nd chance! Good thing I did because he was helpful… knowledgeable…fast and efficient at repairing my son’s flat… and affordable!

I brought my bike in and explained that the breaking unit needed to be replaced and some other work including new cables, a new back tire, and gear adjustment. He insisted that only the break pads needed to be replaced and gave me a quote. To make a long story short the breaking unit needs to be replaced. I just picked it up and took it somewhere else

I’ve been going to this bike shop since I was a kid. Both my brother and sister got their first bikes from this shop. The staff is always knowledgable, professional, patient and friendly. They will gladly answer any and all of your questions.

I was having a problem with my gear shifters and derailed on my MB. They did a very nice job of listening to me, troubleshooting the issue an fixing it — the first time. Price was good, though he was busy when I walked into the shop he examined the bike and gave me a quote. Very good indeed. Intact, he cleaned up some other issues related to my gear shifters at the same time. I will definitely return my business to the Authorized Bicycle Shop. Thanks.

I brought in my front wheel to get it straightened the other day. Spokes were good and so were the stem when I brought it in. I left the store. I called back the same day to change my mind about just putting another rim on there cuz my old one might end up having the same wobbly problem. So I picked up the new wheel the same day and the guy tells me that the stem on the old wheel broke off and when I got home I see that one of the spokes broke off too. Was this so I can’t return the new one or what’s the deal? Also, of course they have to add the inner tube cost and they broke the stem. I guess that ‘s how they add extra cost if people are not aware. I guess I’m not going there again. If you have to go there or any bike shop, make sure you are aware of all your bike parts so you don’t end up getting charged more or end up buying a new bike.

Not only is this a good shop, the people there are honest :) I went there this one morning w/my bf to get his bike fixed and I sat on the bench inside. We were the first ones there when it opened. I had $ 20 with me and I dropped it there and I didn’t know til I left for SF. I went back the next morning to pick up the bike and I asked if they happened to find $ 20 yesterday morning. I was thinking he was going to say no but he opened his drawer and handed me $ 20 dollars! He said, yes I found it on the bench where you were sitting. I was so happy and thankful for his honesty!

OK, Let me start off by saying that this review is going to be a bit biased. I have been doing business with Authorized for several years and have never once thought their service or sales were lacking. I just took my twenty year old Diamondback Centurion in for a tune up and a few upgrades(clipless pedals and a new saddle) and was very pleased with the attention and helpfulness of the staff. While I was choosing a new saddle the salesperson and I has a nice discussion about the advances in bicycle technology in the last 20 years or so. He helped me choose a saddle with measurements close to my original Avenir saddle and was quite helpful over all. I will pick up my bike on Tuesday or Wednesday and look forward to riding it. If you are looking for a shop with a helpful, friendly, courteous and professional staff in the North Bay, look no farther than Aurthorized.

What a great shop! Small-town service and friendliness at its best. This bike shop really takes me back to when I lived in Sierra County(pop 5000) and all the businesses have to take excellent care of their patrons, because there’s no escaping them, or your reputation, in a small town. A clean, well-lighted, friendly place that oozes integrity. We stopped in during our current shopping expedition for a new road or mountain bike, and they couldn’t have been more helpful. They not only helped us try several bikes, they took a lot of time custom-adjusting each one so that we would have the best possible evaluation. We never felt pushed to make a purchase. On the contrary, their main concern seemed to be that we end up with the right bike for us. The salesman was a fountain of information and he managed to share his apparently vast expertise without talking down to us, or going all spandex-supremacist on us chubby middle-aged noobs. As we narrow in on our decision, their service and support have put them at the top of our list. If we don’t buy a bike here, it will only be because we ultimately pick something they don’t carry.

In spite of some good nearby mountain biking trails and the scenic Carquinez bridge path Vallejo isn’t a cycling town. In fact I’d call it bike-unfriendly. The only two-wheeled vehicles you’re likely to see here are seasonal Harleys. The affluent road bike crowd lives in Benicia and Vallejo doesn’t have the Oakland hipster fixed-gear contingent. Most of the buses don’t have bike racks and all but one of the bike lockers at the transit center were out of service last time I checked. So the fact that there’s a bike shop in town at all is amazing. In order for a shop to stay in business it has to serve the needs of its customers. AB has been in business for decades, clearly they know their customers. The selection of new bikes is pretty good considering the location but it isn’t Mike’s Bikes. If you’re looking for high-end or hard-to-find sport-specific bikes Vallejo is not the place to do it. Living in Vallejo it’s hard to hold that against them. If you have an old rigid mountain bike or hybrid, which is what people seem to ride in these parts, Scott and Dave are a great resource for value-oriented service. I’ve brought in a couple of old rigid steel mountain bikes, one covered with activist stickers, and an old stripped-down frame where I just needed the cranks and headset pulled. They’ve always been accommodating even with the ratty stuff I’ve brought in. They’ve never upsold parts or service I didn’t need, and have always recommended cost-effective solutions for my bike problems. Their parts aren’t as cheap as what I can get online, but that’s the same with any shop and part of what you pay for is a relationship with the shop and the techs. I haven’t purchased a new bike from them so can’t comment on that, I can only afford used bikes. If you’re a decent shade-tree mechanic and go in with specific questions or problems, they’re a great resource and will help you out no matter what condition your bike is in. Also bonus if you have a friendly dog, it’s a dog-friendly shop!

I stopped by to browse around for a bike to catch my eye. As well as to ask a question via my boyfriend but it wasn’t until 20−25min’s later I was asked if I needed help. It was not a busy day here. By the time I was getting ready to go I was finally approached. When I first came in there was only 1 other person, who was being helped. When I was getting ready to go, there was at least 4 different customers that came in. If I was a secret shopper reviewing this location. This wouldn’t be so good… Prepare to wait for assistance.

Considering it’s the only real bike shop in town you are basically forced to go here for any cycling needs. That said, it is still a great shop. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very attentive. They can help you out with pretty much anything you need, whether it’s repair, sales, or just general information.

I was in the process of refurbishing an old japanese 10-speed(mostly because the frame was my size, 18″ something i have found to be very, very rare and expensive) I think Scott was the one that helped me. He was very nice and informative. At first i was really skeptical to bring my bike to a mom-and-pop bike shop. I didn’t want any criticism for my bike’s condition from the bike mechanic but actually he was quite the opposite. Pretty cheap labor considering my problem needed special tools and trade skills. What’s also great about this place is that they install anything you buy from them for free, which sure beats buying bike-specific tools and bustin’ your ass trying to fix a problem that a professional can do in minutes. I will definitely be back for routine tune-ups

We went here a few times to get various things fixed on the bike I got from a friend. They were fast, friendly and reasonably priced. The two workers are very knowledgeable! The place has been here forever & that says something. We asked tons of questions and they didn’t mind. Will definitely keep my bike in top shape with this store!
