The best mexican food restaurant in Vallejo in my opinion. The food is great, the customer service is excellent and the prices are fair. Very hard to beat. I’ve been eating here for about 15 years.

This is old world authentic food. Fresh, simple, and delicious. The owner saw me putting habenero sauce on my enchiladas and brought out a Serrano salsa that was fairly hot and very tasty.

Found this place via Unilocal was in town for working & looking for a place for lunch. I had the chicken tostada. It was delicious. You get free salsa & chips at dine ins. The salsa is fresh and very good more like a pico de gallo. I will return & would recommend

Great Tamales and Chille Relleno. Good Prices. Sweetheart couple needs an interior designer. Lots of gems hidden in Vallejo.

Family friendly service, incredibly fresh produce, and high quality well cooked meats in every dish. The salsa verde pork burrito is so good. Don’t let the sleepy outer appearance fool you, there is a truly delicious and deserving meal inside. Did I mention how delicious the tamales are? This place is wonderful and not patronized as I believe it should be. The service is great, Jose is a gem. Did I mention that it’s super cheap?

Great lunch specials, clean, good salsa, and service. Have gone here three times and I’m really impressed. The food is pretty good but the service really stand outs. I think the owner is really from El Salvador, not Mexico. They still make great Mexican food. They close pretty early, so that pretty much makes this a lunch only spot. Check it out. Cash only.

For years, I have believed that good Mexican didn’t exist in Vallejo. El Nopal has proved me wrong. Good food, good service, and good prices. You can’t beat that!

Want to taste home made authentic tasty Mexican food in a clean, quiet convenient location in Vallejo ? Check this out: A hidden jewel: ELNOPAL !! Great owners, friendly, personable and nice. Extremely affordable, fair prices for all items !! Lunch Specials are all very good… especially their CHILERILLENO ! Ask for extras of what you need and most cases it’s incorporated into your order. Have you tried their Mango-Raspberry-Avacado Dressing for Salads? It’s out of this world… I have ordered them for 7 to 8 Potluck parties in Beerkeley, San Francisco and Marin = EVERYONELOVEDIT. Try El Nopal in vallejo downtown = you will be pleasantly surprised. Thank you.

I’m Mexican so it’s hard for me to eat at a Mexican restaurant without comparing the food to «real» made-with-love Mexican like my family prepares. The rice at el Nopal is as good as my grandma’s, and that’s saying a lot! The only drawback is their hours. They aren’t online, so call to make sure they will be open before you drive downtown. Everything else is excellent.

I’ve been there 5– 10 times the food is good. The owners are very friendly ~they deserve 5 stars! My bf loves their beef Colorado… the chicken is a little bland, but their rice and beans beats all others! make sure you call before you go to see if their open– that’s the only thing.
