Sutter Solano Medical Center

If I could give ZERO stars I would. This is literally the worst hospital I have ever been to. I work in health care so I understand people are busy and we are dealing with humans, HOWEVER. I was disgusted with the lack of professionalism, and the horrible patient care do NOT send your loved one here.

Where to start… I have been to many hospitals in this country and four others. The only one worse than this one was literally in a third world country.
Two different nurses didn’t give my medicine to me right. One I am pretty sure took it for herself, she said she dropped it into the sharps container but there was no sound and I had already told her I wasn’t ready for it.
The other left it on the computer and it just sat there until I left. On a separate occasion I called for pain medication ½ hour after they said they would bring it and an hour and a half later I finally got some. I was post op and had to spend the night, they gave my husband a metal conference room chair to sit in all night! They couldn’t even be bothered to get a cot. We had 4 people say they would. I finally had him climb in bed with me. When I got sick from the other medications the nurse didn’t help at all. My husband took care of everything I needed because the nurses could never be found. There was a huge commotion several times because of other patients not doing what you would expect normal humans to act like. The boards are not undated and so my doctor didn’t know where I was and went into the wrong room. The had me down as postpartum and I was there for surgery. They had several weeks notice that I was having surgery but we were put in a closet size room that the bed and the nurse had a hard time in at the same time. The bathrooms are all shared and dirty. The charge nurse helped when they could. The nurse that took out my I v said it was in wrong and might have broken off.
The charge nurses and my doctor were amazing but those are the only good things!

Waited 4 hours to be seen in the ER for extreme pain due to a cesarean 2 weeks ago. Waited another 3 hours for them to tell me — while I was breast feeding — that I needed to start giving my daughter formula because they were going to do a CT scan and I can’t breastfeed for 24 hours. The doctor literally told me that I need to «get over» wanting to stick to breast feeding. Then there’s the joke of a security team they have. All they do is sit in the waiting room eating and watching TV. Then they harass my boyfriend about where he can and cannot smoke because they’re on a power trip. I’ll be switching to Kaiser even if it costs me an arm and a leg. At least I’ll be treated and not forgotten about for 3 hours.

Okay I had to take a day or two before I wrote this, needed to check my online Sutter account because apparently a summary of my visit was there and I needed to read. Okay went to Sutter this past Friday, day after Thanksgiving. I passed out twice that morning before I got to hospital, apparently from dehydration (my family and I diagnosis). They took me right back that garnered one star because my lips were apparently still white. I gave my story and Oh we need urine, I’m half naked and now they want urine… whatever get to this restroom with a toilet only.. I’m like wtf. so I’m fanagling holding my blanket (Yeah I had one to cover my exposed back). I put down 5 toilet seat covers (thinking of that article you can’t get catch shyt from a toilet, right) back to room to get IV, okay one poked vein blocked, not her fault, 2^nd poke Okay that worked and I have a pretty bruise to prove it! Apparently not her fault either, my cousin said I could just bruise easily.
So I’m gonna be there 3 hours I told my son’s to come back… within that time I had to pee… That toilet only restroom had guest since I last visited pissy tissue on toilet found a bigger restroom not bad (I guess no problem walking pass people waiting on gurneys sitting outside no where to put them) Okay so doc ordered a Ekg… I’m like Okay male nurse putting stickers around my heart, Oh yeah and my raw Boobage. … so that’s kool.
You know that feeling like I’m better, you start hovering, someone noticed and that Doc who I saw at first, said all your test and blood work are good and we are releasing you. First of I was never diagnosed and that trip to ER cost me $ 200. I was giving some paperwork I could print off Internet. Oh yeah 2^nd star was for that nurse who did my IV, she was a sweet lady.
I’m from Bay and I think I will go to Alta Bates in Berkeley or find another place to get service. I think getting a diagnosis is part of the hospital visit period.

I have a good friend who had to come to the Emergency Department last week… and when I arrived to see him, was told that he was not there. I knew better, as he had phoned me a few hours earlier… and I knew he had not returned home. Ms. Karen Mendoza, a patient care coordinator, took the time to call various departments, and then found him. She went above and beyond what too often would have been a, «sorry that’s not my job» moment. It is refreshing to encounter someone who truly gives «exceptional customer care.» Thank you Karen…

Okay I like Sutter hospital so much too I drove past 3 Kaiser’s to make it to the one here in Vallejo but I am disgusted with the help everyone forgets about you they don’t know how to give a proper IV and everyone is just rude very rude you want to go to the better hospital that is the best go to Sutter in Santa Rosa California stay away from this one you have been warned

Went there twice this month. The staff I encountered with were very friendly, helpful and comforting. I was informed at every step and the docs were experienced. I drove an extra 30 mins to get to the emergency department of Sutter Solano because I was sure that I’d get the best medical treatment.

I’m basing my visit strictly on the ER admission along with the ER room… the first thing you smell when u walk into the ER room to register is pungent urine. it’s f– ing disgusting! Despite my condition i actually wanted to laugh when I saw a little boy walk in with his mom and he kept his nose pinched the whole time while in the ER lobby waiting room– then finally when the triage nurse comes to register me… I notice she types with one finger per hand– there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with her hand but really??? You hire a person who only types with TWO FINGERS to be the person to do the registering in the ER? are u serious? to me it’s a stall tactic a joke on the patients. let’s just make it more longer for the patients to register in a urine pungent disgusting smelling lobby while this chicky types with 2 fingers, or VERY POOR MANAGEMENT. When I finally get to my ER room. what do i smell? urine again as if Vern the drunko pissed all over the wall! They end up placing 2 ivs 1 in each arm my left arm needs to be elivated… what do they give me a soiled pillow with blood stains which is NOT MY BLOOD… THIS PLACE IS, unprofessional, un sanitary, just plane worse than sf city community hosiptal… I had a bathroom in my room last person who used it pissed all over the seat and left their used toilet paper on it. my nurse at the time informed the janitor o f the mess… but WHY DID I take the janitor damn near 2 hours just to wipe that sh! t down? This place is totaly un sanitary unprofessional under staf, and seriously needs the california health board commision to check it out… you come to hosiptal to seek help and care… this place is filthy has slow asss people who works here, even the ER nurse who first checked me in and took my vitals made it VERY VERBAL that she didn’t even want to listen or has not been listening to the DR. S admission advise… Really? Why are you people even workin f here then? Where is the respect, code, and professionalism at??? My nurse earlier even got into it with her upper management complainig that there is no organization and she was gonna write it up … mind u this heated conversation was done in front of me while i’m feeling sick and having serious medical issues… again this place is really unprofessional i do not feel my health issue was really taken serious my ass hurts from laying on this 1970 piece of cot that won’t stay up, and they wonder why i’m being a B??? it’s been damn near 14 hours since i’ve been waiting to be placed in icu… again my ass hurts laying on this fake ass piece of bed– this place is filthy, unsanitary. and there are only sadly a handful of nurses or doctors who probably really care. this place serious needs to be audited– SERIOUSLY IT IS fowl, unsanitary, and the overall moral of the workers. is TERRIBLE. Things i’ve seen for this just being my first time here… MAKE ME WONDER IF I’M IN GOOD HANDS. and if these people really do care or take pride in what they do… this entire incident happened on Sunday August 28^th at 12noon At Sutter ER. IT WAS THEEEE WORSE EXPERIENCED I’VE EVER HAD AT ANY HOSPITAL… unfortunately.

Just had surgery at Sutter Solano hospital in Vallejo, and could not of had a better experience.
Administration was so quick and easy, they had phoned me the day before to preregister me so when we arrived everything was set. The nurses in preop were fabulous, all my needs were taken care of and they were very accommodating. My surgery was delayed due to the surgery before mine running longer than scheduled, but I was comfortable and there’s really nothing anyone can do about this kind of delay. I had to spend one night there. I had a private room with a private bathroom and a very comfy bed. The nurses were very friendly and helpful and would check in with me periodically, enough but not too much. I was there long enough to receive one breakfast and one lunch and I’ve got to say the food was great. Especially the breakfast, which unfortunately I was only able to eat a couple bites of but what I ate was very tasty.
I really do not understand all the bad reviews here. The facility was extremely clean, the staff helpful, the room very nice and the food excellent. I would not hesitate at all to have surgery here again.

Nursing staff at this hospital is appalling! Not everyone but 4 out of the 5 that I have encountered while my family member was here seemed like we were bothering them when we needed their assistance. One nurse ripped out my family members IV then pulled out the drain from the surgery site and had the audacity to be mad at the patient for making her clean up blood. She even yelled at the patient not to touch her. I am very disappointed with the nursing level at the hospital.

Dr. Jeffrey Eugene Frazer is one of the rudest doctors I have ever met! I have been going to Sutter Solano since I was a child and he is the first doctor who had a bad attitude. First words that came out of his mouth to me was, you should be going to your primary and «what you couldn’t wait until the morning?» No jerk I can’t why else would I be here? And no I don’t if I did do you really think I would be here? He had a very condescending tone more concerned about trying to get me out of there to another doctor then actually treating me. What do they pay you for? Then he forced medication on me even after I told him I wasn’t comfortable with that particular medication, then he tried to justify it. If you can’t listen to your patients get another day job! From now on I’ll just go to Kaiser down the street.

I have been here three times, two ER visits and the birth of my son. Every time I come here I have had nothing but positive experiences. I do not know why anyone expecting a baby in Crockett/​Hercules would ever drive to Walnut Creek, when they can skip over the bridge and receive excellent care.

When delivering my son August 2012, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Walking up and down the hall after our check in, the nurses smiled at my husband and I as though they never seen a couple deliver before. Instead of a run of the mill kind of attitude, they were genuinely excited for us.
When labor escalated the nurses were so helpful. They often went way out of their way to get me what I needed, or rather, begged for since it was my first baby and I was so scared. Except food of course, ice chips only. I could have totally been upset at them, but the rule came across as a case of tough love.
The staff followed my birth plan to a tee, but also made it clear when they would have to diverge if a certain medical emergency were to take place. The epidural team was firm, but understanding. There was one moment, in the hardest part of my delivery, my nurse told me she had to get the doctor, leaving me alone with my husband. No offense to my husband who had been preparing for the day for months, I was really scared to be left alone without medical staff, even for a second. She tried to explain, she needed to get the doctor and she’d be right back. When I made it clear how afraid I was, she stayed by my side. Fortunately a second nurse came in and was able to page the doctor. After that experience, there is no way I would ever deliver in another hospital again. I think if she ran out the door for a minute I would have had a total panic attack and she knew that.
Another good thing to know is their hospital tour and class preparing for the delivery is pretty helpful for those who are new at it.
WONDERFUL ER STAFF!
When going to the ER for a herniated disc, I was in a lot of pain, almost as bad as labor, but this pain unlike labor, was totally unmanageable. Breathing only made it worse. The staff and Doctor did an excellent job in tending to my needs and got me to a bed immediately. The doctor was a good listener and consider everything I said and answered my questions. It was very relieving to go from horrible pain without understanding the cause to learning about what was happening and how long it would last. The doctor made it clear what challenges my husband and I should expect in the next few weeks, making recovery manageable.
I had a couple of muscle spasms while waiting which the nurse attended to fairy quickly. After a rest and waiting for the doctor to return with a prescription, I realized even in the worst case scenario, I feel really safe and comfortable at Sutter Solano.

CAT male technician working on 5÷28÷14 at about 3 P.M. is a brute no common sense worker. Went into emergency that day in the morning, everyone else working there were decent, specially the lady nurse who was very pleasant. Would we come back? NO, NO, NO! $ 14,000 for 8 hours? Glad I have insurance, still they piled on what every bit cost they could. This time used local hospital trying to help the local business backfired. Planned better for future and next time will instead drive out to Berkeley.

We live at hospitals due to my youngest daughters condition. This is the worst hospital we have ever stepped foot in. The nurses were horrible. Push a call bottom and 2 hours later you will get attitude about being short staffed when in fact they were playing on their phone. They were doing construction in the room next door to my husbands. They came into his room and did drilling less then 8 hours after major surgery. One nurse was picking his ear before attempting to handle my husbands IV. Another nurse accused me of «confronting her» when I asked to speak with a doctor because my husband was in pain. Then the doctor corrected her about her language in front of us. It was a sad circus. Sutter Marin is amazing, UCSF amazing, even queen of the valley who I don’t love is amazing compared to Sutter Vallejo. I am in the process of filling a formal complaint. Please think twice before being admitted here.

$ 1,850 bill for 2 hour wait and 800mg of acetemenophen. Your experience may vary.

My wife received great service and care from the sutter solano staff, they were professional and kind, and knew exactly what to do when my wife’s childbirth began to get complicated, and they delivered a healthy little girl and we are forever grateful.

When my mom was diagnosed with Diffuse Type B Lymphoma my sisters and I wanted to get as many second opinions on treatment as possible. We emailed the Sutter Vallejo Cancer Center out situation and asked their opinion on it as they’re «specialists.»
My mom ended up dying a month ago. It’s been 2 months and I’m still waiting for Sutter to return my email. I hope they don’t treat their cancer patients like they’ve treated my sisters and I or they’re all doomed…

The employees are pretty nice and friendly, and majority of the staff I’ve encountered are very attentive to their patients. I gotta love their ICU staff, one of my faves is the night crew nurse that I met, Erik. He’s funny and just like everyone, very attentive to my grandma! I gave birth to my very precious daughter, and I didn’t really have any problems during my stay.

I had one of my surgeries here a few years ago and I recently (well a couple of months ago now) had to stay here for 3 days for treatment. From my experience with this place, the people from the scheduling department pretty much suck, but that’s a whole other issue that I don’t want to get into.
When I had my first surgery here a few years back, the nurses in pre– & post-​op area were AMAZING! They were very friendly, helpful, and very attentive to my needs/​concerns.
I had my first hospital stay ever a couple of months ago. I was seen by two of the hospital’s doctors there. The first one was on a Friday when I was admitted. It took a little while to be seen by him, probably because me being admitted into the hospital was done on very short notice. Besides the wait, which is also understandable since he’s dealing with many other patients, he was very professional and did his best fitting the pieces of information I gave him, concerning my ailment, together to make the proper decisions on treatment. I had the other doctor for the other 2 days that I stayed there. He seemed much more approachable than the first doctor. I had to go down to the radiology department a couple of times to have a few tests done and they were very friendly, helpful, and funny. The lab people that came in my room practically every morning and sometimes a few times a day were pretty cool too. The nurses had this time around were cool too.
Overall, for every time I’ve been here I’ve been very pleased with the service and the staff here, well besides the people from scheduling.
