This place was amazing. My husband and I walked up to the door and he said he knew as soon as he saw the deer antler door handles that it was going to be a good experience. He’s an avid hunter and I love the rustic look, so it was definitely right up our alley. Food wise, we only got an appetizer since we had already ate dinner, but the chicken quesadillas are amazing and filling; even the waitress told us she could barely finish a half order alone. We originally went for fries, but they got hit hard on a Friday night and ran out and don’t get their truck until Monday. Anyway, the quesadillas have a great smoky flavor and come with pico, salsa, and sour cream. The appetizers are a little on the pricey side, but the main courses are about the same as Texas Roadhouse, and the menu has fun phrasing relating to hunting and redneckery. The draft beer prices are unbeatable. They must make a lot of money from food, because they only charge $ 4 for a 34 ounce, $ 2.75 for a 20 ounce, and $ 1.75 for a 12 ounce. Not sure about mixed drinks, but it seemed like they had a fairly limited selection of liquor. Still, this is a great place to relax and unwind.

I started off with their signature Chili it was delicious with a twist you can add a dab of sour cream it was delicious. Then I had the 12 oz Ribeye very good steak a little over cooked for me but it was still juicy and great flavor. My sides were buttered noodles and onion rings. Great sweet tea and a neat rustic atmosphere.

I received a message from the owner, who offered to make things right. I had an unexpected trip and wound up here for the night, so I went over and ordered the exact same thing as last time, without revealing that I’d been there before. This time it was spot on. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, the veggies were just what I wanted, and the service was pleasant. I get to Wheeling once every few weeks and you can bet I’ll be back for some fine eats.

I’m a truck driver and a foodie and it’s hard to find totally kick ass food like this in an area where it’s close to truck parking. People like me are usually relegated to the fast food, Denny’s, and motel«continental» breakfasts of this world. Not only is the food and service but the ribs are hands down the best I ever had. The portions are Huge, literally a sweet potato the size of my head. The Onion Rings had a nice crisp thin coat of batter that was just perfect! Last time I was here I had the wings and they were great too. All I have to say is the food totally ROCKS. If I had Anthony Bourdain or Guy Feiri riding shotgun in my truck, I would totally take them here. Aside from the great food, I was well taken by everyone including my server Janna. Also the atmosphere is totally Country without trying to pretend to be like other chain steakhouses that we may know of. I feel like a cowboy when I walk in here. So I enthusiastically implore all travelers and locals alike going by Dallas Pike to eat here. Skip the chain tourist traps on exit 10 and treat your self to Ruttenbucks!

Ruttenbucks is located near a truck stop, and there is no sign on the interstate to indicate that it exists. After hearing about Ruttenbucks from a friend, I decided to surprise my husband with a new place to eat. After getting off on the exit, he started to worry that I was taking him to the truck stop for dinner. Upon pulling into the parking lot, he still looked skeptical and said, «For the record, this is YOUR idea…» However, once we walked into the restaurant, he relaxed when he saw it was a nice country restaurant. We grabbed a bucket of peanuts at the door, and were promptly seated. He ordered a tea, which came in a mason jar glass, and a Beef Melt. I ordered the Po-Noodle Bowl. Both were delicious, and more than we could eat! We ended up with leftovers for lunch the next day. Next time we have family in town, we will be eating here for dinner.

Truck parking across the street. Friendly staff, country atmosphere, loud, prices are average, food came out fast. I had the sketti and my hubby had meat loaf, food was hot but not very good. Won’t be back. Thats all I can say.

I love this place for home cooking! Everything is homemade. I have been here 3 times now and have yet to be disappointed. I am originally from WV but currently reside in California. This has become one of those go to places for me when I come back for visits. I love their hot open faced roast beef sandwiches– my favorite is the one topped with grilled onions, cheese, and gravy. The sides are excellent– I have had the fries(homemade– yummy!), the mashed potatoes(homemade and fanatastic), and the green beans(flavored with bacon– awesome!). I also want to add that while I did not try the ribs, I have had multiple friends and family order their ribs and rave about them. Their ribs are apparantly what they are known for, but I highly recommend the roast beef sandwich.
