Fritz s is a regular place for our family. It is always great. We always love it. 100% of the time

First time here — in town visiting grandkids. Only ice cream dishes served — no sandwiches, etc. Limited flavor selection: choc, vanilla, and rotating flavor of the day. Good selection of toppings and mixins. Prices comparable to other stores. No inside dining; outdoor patio tables only. Good choice if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t drive more than 10 min.

I have found myself coming by here way too often over the years here in Valley Park, but I honestly would come by no matter where I lived. You can get an amazing variety of delicious concretes and just about anything else and, yes, I am one of the brave few who feels this place excels Drew’s.

delicious ice cream. Always getting requests from the kids to visit this place. Order small as it’s a lot of sweets.

Always crowded for a reason… their custard is fresh and tastes great! I got the black cherry swirled in a cup and it was smooth with chunky fresh pieces of black cherries. Will return again in the future! Prices not bad and affordable.

We love Fritz’s! They are excellent at making delicious desserts, and the lines usually go quickly, despite how many people are waiting on busy nights. However, it’s a little pricey to get several items so we tend to get a large concrete and share. Occasionally they accidentally charge us for an extra topping when we get the flavor of the day and they don’t always give a receipt, so be cautious of that, but it’s only a few cents more and it’s worth it either way.

Excellent place to take the family for some concrete. Sorry St. Louis but much better than Ted Drewes.

Fritz’s has an extensive menu. They offer a variety of treats that includes sundaes, concretes, malts, shakes, floats, cones, and cups. Their website provides descriptions of some of their featured sundaes and concretes, but when you arrive, you’ll be greeted by menus galore that list even more options. Of course, you can always pick your own toppings to create your own custom sundae or concrete. As their website says, «at Fritz’s, it’s not just vanilla.» They have chocolate, vanilla, 95% fat-free vanilla, AND a flavor of the day. Examples of flavors of the day include red velvet cake, strawberry, brownie batter, and pistachio nut. You can check their website to view the flavor calendar each month. They also have a no-sugar-added vanilla custard, but the menu leads me to believe that it is available only as a custard cup, Jr. Sundae, Jr. Feature, or quart. On my last visit, I must have lost my mind. I almost always get a concrete with peanut butter, but this time, I ordered the Caramel Crunch concrete(pecans, caramel, and hard chocolate shell). I don’t know what I was thinking, but it was fantastic. I don’t go to Fritz’s very often because none of their locations are particularly close to me. It’s not my favorite custard place, but it’s pretty darn good. I’ve enjoyed it each time I’ve been to this location. One thing I really love are their roasted pecans. I go absolutely crazy over roasted pecans, and Fritz’s are great. I believe they sell them seasonally in four-ounce, half-pound and one-pound sizes, but they do not need to come home with me. They’d be gone before I left the parking lot. Fritz’s is open during spring, summer, and autumn. The last day of the 2014 season is November 23. So, if reading this has made you want custard as much as writing this has made me want custard, hurry!

Very nice and fun! Great custard with plenty of toppings! Be sure and let them know about food allergies! They will help! We go there with peanut and tree nuts food allergies and have never had a problem!

This is our go-to custard place. There are a ridiculous number of options to choose from. My favorite, however, is yellow cake batter!

I love the frozen custard at Fritz’s. This is definitely our go to spot when we’re craving an ice cream treat. I love their turtle Sundae and they have tons of options for concrete flavors. They even give away free baby cones for the little ones. If you want a guilt free option, try there light custard. 95% less fat, no guilt, and all the flavor.

Haven’t gone as often as I’d like, but it’s been good every time. Black cherry concrete is one of my favorites.

This is, personally, the best place for me to get a St Louis treat. Our family loves it. Our dogs love it! Even when there is a line it moves very fast. I have no idea how the folks working in the back keep all the orders straight but they do. About the only down side is on a nice evening there aren’t enough seats to go around. On the plus side, we have offered open seats at our tables to folks and met some neat people and others have offered open seats to us. There doesn’t seem to be a bad vibe around the place at all.

Fritz’s is pretty good stuff. They have a huge menu, with tons of options(toppings, flavors, sauces, etc). They offer a REALLY good lite custard that is 95% fat free, if you’re watching your waistline. You can’t even tell that it’s a lighter offering. They offer a free cone for very little kids, but it’s really small & not enough for my two year old. I was torn between 3&4 stars writing this because we just went & they served the most disgusting blueberries on my custard. They were either dehydrated or poorly frozen or something. It was an awful travesty & right in the middle of fresh blueberry season! Their fruit isn’t fresh as far as I can tell. If you like custard & fruit, you’ll want to take note of that. I probably would have gone with 3 stars based on the lack of fresh fruit, but my toddler & husband both think it’s great, so I’ll cut Fritz’s some slack this time :)

Just wanted to write an update on my experience with ordering a frozen custard pie! My dad LOVES Reese’s anything. So I wanted to surprise him on father’s day with a chocolate peanut butter frozen custard pie! I had never done this before so I was a huge n00b. I called around noon and confirmed if they really did the pies and they said yes but it would take a couple hours to make, which was perfect because I thought it would take at least a day(I don’t know how they make those things!). Anyway, so I was like can I order a chocolate peanut butter one? And they were like«You can make it however you’d like!» How awesome?! So I don’t even really remember what exactly I got. I think chocolate custard filling with Oreo crust and peanut butter topping and Reese’s pieces sprinkled on top! They had it ready for me on time and it was delicious and so cute! Oh and only $ 14! A good change of pace from a cake or something on a birthday or special occasion!

Now that we live in West County, we no longer make our weekly venture out to Ted Drewes(which was less than 5 minutes from our old house). Thankfully, Fritz’s is less than 5 minutes from our new house, so our frozen custard cravings are still satisfied! I personally don’t have a preference for one over the other, but the hubby says he still prefers Ted Drewes. Lots of flavors and options to choose from… bonus includes free doggie cones, which our dogs very much appreciate. :)

Update: Guy on phone: Hello, thank you for calling Fritz’s Frozen Custard, how can I help you? Me: Hi, do you have anything without dairy, I have a little girl who is allergic to milk. Guy on phone: Sure do, we make slushies. Me: Wonderful, we’ll be there in a little bit. Guy on Phone: great, we’ll see you then. 45 minutes later… Me at counter: Hi, what flavor slushies do you have? Girl at counter: Sorry, our machine is broken today. To my 3yo daughter… I’m a suckie father. Thanks Fritz’s for making me look like a dick.
