It was my first time ordering cake from them. Cake was very fresh and tasty. Compare to kosher bakery in los angeles price was cheap. I will visit them again soon.

They have huge borekas always fresh and they will heat it up for you upon request. Friday’s are their busy days so definitely stock up on borekas Thursday or call in advance. The cakes are delicious too. I love their rye bread, challah and the chocolate pastries behind the glass.

Continental Bakery is the best kosher bakery around. They have amazing bourekas. I come almost every Friday to get a treat for Shabbat. I really love everything I’ve tried so far. The employees are very sweet and helpful.

Update(2 stars): Thank you Eddy P. for your reply to my review! Normally I’d be like YAY, this company is nice and redeeming themselves… I’m going to give them another shot! But, my friend, I am not wrong on the change. She told a price, I gave her more than the price. She shorted me like 10 cents or something stupid. Not a huge deal. I don’t remember if I gave her a $ 5 or $ 10 or $ 6 or what. I don’t remember because I was not offered a receipt either. But the fact that you are telling me that I’m wrong and essentially stupid *again* for not being able to do basic math, is a deal breaker for me. Original Review(3 stars): I bought some egg challah bread from here, and it as really good! However, the service I got was not ideal, and honestly, I left the place feeling stupid and judged. That’s a lot of emotional impact from a freaking bakery LOL. I didn’t know there was egg OR water challah(they list them on the board as one, so I thought it was egg and water challah… my bad). The lady does a big sigh and tells me in her thick accent to just get the egg one. Okkkayyyy. [Edit: and now I know why she wanted me to get the egg one… it’s more expensive, thanks Eddy P. for the clarification!] The bread comes up to $ 4 and change, very reasonably priced for specialty bread in my book. I give her a $ 5 and she short changes me. I already feel weird and unwelcome here, so I don’t even bother with the incorrect change. She knew what she was doing. After I counted my change, we looked at each other eye to eye and she had this look in her eye, I swear haha. I was the only typical LA white-ish girl in there and I shop at foreign shops all the time! Needless to say, this is one of the first times I felt really unwelcome in a foreign shop. I’m sure I’ll be back if I need more challah bread, but I’m hoping that I can find a different kosher bread shop in my area with better customer service :( [Edit: I won’t be back]

I love this bakery! We always order cakes from here for birthdays and special occasions. You can order them however you want, and they do a great job decorating them. The prices for cakes are so reasonable, especially compared to other kosher bakeries. And you MUST try their cronuts! They only make them on Thursdays, and they run out fast, so go early! The staff is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

I’ve lived around the corner from here for a year, finally went in today. Woman working behind the counter was extremely cordial, gave me a free sample of something without me even asking for it. I bought some ruggulah. Very good, especially the chocolate ones. Highly recommend!

Just walked in here for the first time and received a very welcoming treatment from romero. I came here to buy a cake for my jewish boss it was a mocha chocolate mousse cake and everybody loved it at work. It looks very typical inside and not extravagant, there’s a lot of dofferent small pastries on the display that is worth a try. There is one thing though, when romero was asking me and helping me with my cake, there’s this one lady who’s only there to work and do her job but not give a good customer service. When romero took my cake to the back to write a happy birthday note, this lady then asked me if I was being helped by somebody, I answered yes and I was ready to ask her something with my eye contact and everything, but I guess she was just there to ask if i’m being helped then walk away when you say yes. I even said«i just wanna ask something». I’m so annoyed i’m not sure if I wanna come back. I still wanna point out the good service I got from romero. He was very kind and friendly, I guess other workers are just miserable.

Great place… I get pastries from this bakery on a weekly basis and it never disappoints. Their rugelach is delectable, and they really know how to do their holiday pastries just right. This bakery makes me wish sufganiyot season was year-round! Nice owners & staff as well.

1. Very nice staff. 2. Great pastry 3. Low prices 4. Close to(right next to) Cambridge Market Moca cake was great. Delicious bagels and sweat peach turnovers(I hope I got the name right). Challah bread was amazing as well. I especially liked the fact that I was asked if I wanted to try(almost) each of the items I wanted to buy.

They have a great selection of sugar free pastries. Had the sugar free apple strudel with raspberries. It had good flavor. Family had the regular napoleons, which they found to be quite tasty.

The best bakery, never disappointed and the service is always superb, even around the busy holidays. The best rye bread, they happily slice it and it is always perfect. I have loved this place for many many years. I always feel«home» when I walk in.

Downhill alert for this place. They used to have the best stuff and friendly service, now everything is not up to par. The chocolate cigars on Sunday morning were not fresh. This bakery is closed on Saturdays so they were probably Friday’s pastries… to me selling two day old pastries at fresh-baked prices is unacceptable. The real tragedy was the apple strudel. I was going to serve to guests but had to get out some ice cream instead as serving these stale hunks of nastiness would have been embarrassing. I’ve known for years that they take fresh strudel and freeze it, making it rather soggy and heavy instead of flaky. In the past I’ve just primped it up with a few minutes in a hot oven but these were beyond repair. Like they had been out on display for a couple of days, then frozen, then out on display for a couple more days. My son did manage to eat 1⁄3 of a pastry but then declared«blech» and tossed it into the trash. I should have returned these to the bakery but decided instead to take this place off my list — for good. Also either they overcharged me, or everything here is now almost $ 3 a pop for individual items. No thank you.

Superior Cakes!!! I’ve tried almost every single one of their cakes and pastries over the last 3 years since moving to the area. From 7 layer to red velvet it doesn’t get any better. Everything is non-dairy pareve so it was so surprising when I tasted their fruit tart as usually custard is never good in pareve places but sure enough it was splendid. The staff is also very friendly!

Good authentic Jewish bakery. Extremely tasty treats. Delicious actually. Call ahead for challahs. Nice service mostly, it’s a certain vibe though, not rude, just not really welcoming, but if you get it, you’re fine.
