I usually lose interest with gyms and the like, but FLaK has been great for me. I’ve been attending about a month, and I have a ton of fun. I absolutely get a great workout, and the time flies by. Chris is great and has an outstanding program for us every class. I’m always excited and looking forward to the next class. I’ve already referred friends, and my brother has signed up and has been attending.

I have to admit I get bored of the conventional workout so I am constantly seeking out something new and exciting to keep my heart rate up. When I found out about Fight Like A Knight I had no idea how much fun I would have with a sword. Not only am I getting a workout out, but I’m learning combat and martial arts techniques; how cool is that? Chris is the main instructor and he is very knowledgeable. With years of experience he has put together the perfect combination of yoga based stretches and sword play. He starts with a total body check in then moves into the core of the workout. Whether you’re a beginner or more skilled fighter he is great at teaching proper alignment and coordination. Somehow he has found an amazing way to mix all the knighthood-ness into a cardio lovers dream! I recommend everyone try this program! Personally, I am always looking to entertain myself, take care of my body and acquire new skills; if I can do that in one place then I am SOLD! Not to mention it was all the more fun sparing with my friend I brought along. ;)

At first, I was scared as I’ve never tried martial arts or any sort of sword fighting(I’ve only seen it on TV!). I’m a petite female, so I thought it would be intimidating, but it was nothing like that at all! Christopher is a detailed and excellent teacher! He took time and showed every move until I got it right. I learned about history, code of honor, and philosophy of sword fighting as well. Most of all, he made it fun! Before I knew it, I was getting a total workout — cardio, toning and stretching! This has been one of the most fun workout I’ve ever had!

First review! Alright! So here’s the thing about Fight like a Knight. It is first and foremost the most authentic sword fighting you will ever encounter. As a person with over 18 years collective martial arts experience, I was truly taken back by the level of authenticity that the instructor and owner Christoper Burns brings to the program. He is a consummate professional, with a clearly established code of honor, and a curriculum that has literally been passed down through the ages. The level of personal attention he gave me was on par with the highest levels of martial arts instruction, with a key emphasis on practical offense, strong defense, and the real life application. He teaches techniques that clearly illustrate the difference between impractical Hollywood style fight choreography, and energy conservative strikes that both deal significant damage while maintaining energy throughout the duration of a fight. He also offers a unique and surprisingly safe sparring program to test your skills in real time(awesome!). Overall it is an incredible experience that I would gladly give a 5 star recommendation to anyone who is interested in learning how to seriously and realistically«Fight like a Knight.»
