Wow the food is breathtaking. I love everything on the menu especially the cheese and Halva which I ended up buying after the employee gave a sample of it. Great customer service thank you guys keep it up :)

I’ve never made a review before but after eating here, I thought I would warn everyone about this place. DONOTEATHERE. I love food and supporting local businesses so I thought I’d give this place a try, BIGMISTAKE. I came in here around 3pm the other day to try it, I was hungry and haven’t eaten all day and was in a hurry. The food smelled alright so I tried it. I took my food to go and when I got home I couldn’t wait to dig in. After taking a bite of one of my sandwiches I noticed the meat was really cold and felt funny. What do you know? The meat was raw! Completely under cooked! The thought of a restaurant serving raw meat sickened me. I ended up throwing away that sandwich, but I was so hungry and just spent like 20 bucks on food so I took a leap of faith and tried the other sandwich. It was cold but the meat seemed to be cooked. It tasted alright but I wouldn’t buy it again. About an hour later, I started throwing up violently from what I would assume is from food poisoning from the raw meat or god knows what else. I’m 100% not eating here again. Disgusting.

Semi-traditional Mediterranean food with an American touch. Shawarma meat is a bit different as it’s only one meat. Got a chicken shawarma, with their homemade garlic sauce that comes on it instead of a yogurt cucumber sauce, and it’s a wrap instead of a pita. But honestly I wasn’t too thrilled about their garlic sauce, next time I’ll try tahini sauce instead. Yet still tasty and incredibly cheap.

The customer service is outstanding! The food is absolutely delicious and the price is very reasonable. The beet hummus is a limited time offering, but the regular hummus is very very mouthwatering! Start at the beginning of the menu and keep coming back for more! !!

Fairly new restaurant right on the border of the university. Walked into a room with bright colors, really open concept, clean, aromatic, and most importantly, was greeted with multiple smiles from the staff. The manager, Kristan, was unbelievably helpful since I had never eaten there before. The food was 150% worth it. It was fresh, seasoned amazingly, good portion sizes, and not your average chain restaurant food: there was something different about that you won’t find anywhere else in Valpo. I recommend this place to anyone, anytime, 1000 times over. Bravo, gentlemen, bravo.

What a great find in Valparaiso. Visiting the area and had an awesome dinner at Barada Kabob. Who would think Cauli-wich and E-plant could be so damn tasty? Not to miss — the Barada Cheese. When are you coming to Indianapolis? We need Barada Kabob soon! Keep up the great work. Cool design, great interior and service.

Never had Mediterranean food but after eating here I never plan to have it again. Sick bloated and heavy feeling! Taste was horrible but again never had Mediterranean food, could be me. I’m pretty health conscious and this was the opposite of that!!!

One may not expect to find delicious, freshly-prepared food and superior customer service in a small hole-in-the-wall. One might be surprised to discover that this is exactly what is offered at Barada Kabob. The moment we walked into the clean and well-kept restaurant, we were greeted by a pleasant server who offered us samples of the Halva(which sort of reminded me of peanut butter fudge) and offered to answer any questions that we might have since it was our first time dining there. Additionally, after we placed our order and waited while it was prepared, the server engaged us in pleasant conversation. Then there was the food itself. Since it was freshly prepared, it tasted far better than most places where you place an order at a counter. The Falafel and Fusion were delightful, but the real star of the show in my order was the Barada cheese. This fried flaky pastry filled with cheese was delicious. Slight downsides of the place would be the limited seating(if you are eating there) and the price to portion ratio, which was a little skewed in favor of «price.» Nonetheless, for what this place is, it is great, and I imagine that we will be going back many times.

Great customer service! Food has great flavor(I wish the chicken was in chunks instead of ground) the garlic sauce is the best!

Smaller portions than I would have wanted, but that’s a compliment to them having good food. Very fresh. One complaint that the kebab wasn’t all too good. I think it was the pita in this case as the sandwich was on the dry side despite my extra tahini. The shawarma was awesome, and definitely my future go-to. The little cheese filled puff is an absolute must. Word of caution, don’t just get one because you’ll hate yourself for it. The falafel sandwich was good, but the actual falafel would be better if it stayed together a bit better, as it kind of falls apart. Will definitely be back. The guy explaining the menu was very nice and the girl cooking was sweet.

This Review is for yesterday Saturday 6-13-2015 It was about 9pm. So my girlfriend and I happen to be in the area, as to be honest we were going to go to yats, across the way, but they had closed at 9pm. I can say I am happy that we tried Barada Kabob, The people there are awesome in my book, not your typical fast food place where you go in eat in or take it to go, and I will say I would not even consider it a fast food place as some may. I can say we were greeted when we came in, which is a huge plus with us, if you are greeted shows they are aware of their customers coming in and that is always a good thing. We were asked if new and of course we said yes, I forgot the gentleman’s name who took our order, but I can tell you he was polite and respectful, helping us with what to maybe select and etc. he gave us a sample of their lentil soup, which I got to say I have had lentil soup before homemade and just our of package and other restaurants, but at barada Kabob if for it, give their lentil soup a try I assure you will want more. It has a nice touch of lemony taste to it is why we want more of it. We had ordered the the Barada Platter, which brings two Barada Kabob skewers covered with their famous spiced Basmadi rice topped with butter and two sides of hummus and tabbouleh served with pita bread. We order a side of Tabbouleh as well, their Hummus, and Baba Ganoush. before leaving a gentleman(I believe maybe the owner), brought out a sample of new burger he will bring out next month, but to be totally honest I think it is worth it. My girlfriend and I loved it. We will definitely come back and order that as well. To give a bit of our opinion the flavors of the spices used taste excellent to us as we love Mediterranean dishes. To some the dishes may not be healthy, but i can tell you as a diabetic the food we chose to order did not affect my glucose readings. the only thing sort of affected me but was worth giving a try was the flan we had, not like your normal flan from a Hispanic restaurant, Barada Kabob’s flan is very unique in flavor, I am unsure 100% what is used, but I loved the flavor. If you like trying different dishes from different locations, give Barada Kabob a try and can promise if you are like us and love flavor, you will love Barada Kabob. I know we will be back there again.

This place is pretty new, so it’s still clean and bright inside. The menu is simple, mostly a la carte items. The prices are low, but the portion sizes are also on the small side. It seemed fairly priced when all was said and done. The falafel and schwarma were both quite good. The hummus was also very good. The taboule was very heavy on the parsley and lacking in bulgur — like a parsley salad. Friendly and seemingly hard-working staff made for a good experience. This’ll definitely go into the lunch rotation.

I like this place. And I don’t usually«order out» since it’s typically unhealthy and not conducive to maintaining the waistline. You can order just a little something and you are completely satisfied. If you want to «go big» and order a platter with additional sides, you can. For me, I usually can order a Barada Kabob, Mediterranean sausage, or a chicken schwarma for like $ 3.25 and I’m good. If I’m really hungry I can order hummus as well. I don’t need all those sides that typically gets thrown in which jacks up the price. I refer to this place as unadulterated Mediterranean food. And the people who work here appear to be very passionate about their product, and it comes through in their attitude and service. Every time I think I need a quick bite, this place is on the top of my list.

I liked the beef kabob w/hummus and pita. Good falafel. Enthused employees add to the experience. Nice to see some dining variety added to the Valpo area w/Yats right next door. Update: went back like 3 times in 2 weeks. They put something addicting in that eplant! Bottom line-this place is fast, inexpensive middle eastern fare. If you want to wait and pay, go to that meditrina place.

I have been aware of kebabs in the past but have never had the opportunity to experience true Mediterranean Arabic cuisine. I took advantage of a long lunch break to introduce myself and my manager to the cuisine. My manager is a traditional meet potatoes type of person and yet she found the taste and be variety to be truly remarkable. Having seen similar restaurants in big cities, the portions were good for s lunch but for dinner I would order a platter. Our favorite had to be the Barada cheese that was made with in-house prepared fresh cheese

Food /Staff: Went for lunch with a bunch of co-workers today, the food was pretty great and affordable too. The staff was extremely friendly and very enthusiastic about the food they were making. During our meal we were greeted by one of the cooks and asked how things were, and we were also given free samples of several of their items, including an up-and-coming menu item(soup) they are currently working on. While there I ordered the Barada Kabob and the Shawarma, as well as the Barada Cheese. The meat was spiced well, the sauces were good, and I also tried some of the hummus that a friend had gotten, it was amazing. The Saj bread on the kabobs was grilled nicely and everything tasted fresh. The pitas with the hummus didn’t seem home made but hopefully that will change over time. I was also given a sample size portion of their fries with garlic sauce, and their Falafel. The fries were pretty standard but the sauce really made them stand out, as for the falafel, I’m not sure because I’m not really a fan of them. Atmosphere: The facilities were spotless, being that the place is brand new this is to be expected, but you can tell that care is being put into making sure things are clean and nice looking. My only complaint overall was the seating, the space they occupy in the building is a small one, and so seating isn’t a very big slice of the real estate. The table that lines the wall(bar-style seating) is more like a shelf than a real eating surface and felt a little limited. This style of seating isn’t very conducive to conversation and having to shout past other people to carry on a conversation isn’t the best. Then again, maybe Barada is aiming at college kids who stop in, grab food, and go. Which is cool. Just don’t come here expecting to sit down and have a face to face conversation with more than one or two people. Menu: The a la carte menu is a little weird at first, there is essentially a $ 3-menu and a $ 10 option for the platter with nothing to pad out the middle price range. Getting multiple kabobs or tossing in the fried cheese can build a meal for you, but it would be nice if there were a 5 – 7 $ menu option that included several items & a drink or something. Overall though, the prices are good, especially for the quality and nice change of pace that the food brings to Valpo. Overall, Barada was a nice place with good prices, good food, and offering something unique to the burger-and-fries drenched landscape of Northwest Indiana. I look forward to going back and bringing my wife and kids in the near future.

It might not be the kabob people usually know, but it cannot change the fact that the food is so good!!! the price is also very reasonable. A restaurant in my Valpo’s must eat list. Bottom line: if you want some kabob people usually know, you might want to try other place. If you want to have some good food, you should consider Barada.
