Chili’s Grill & Bar

I’d like to start by stating this is for THIS LOCATION only. Chili’s, while not the most healthy for you, is generally very good food for a decent price.
Twice now, I have walked into this Chili’s to find not only no hostess, but also no one that seems to give any concern that I’ve walked into this restaurant to give them my money. The first time I walked in with my wife, about 4:30 or so for an earlier dinner. No hostess, but that’s not a big deal because I understand 4:30 isn’t prime time. So we stood in the entrance. The bartender had a direct sight line to us and made eye contact with us twice but said nothing. A server walked by looking at us twice and again not so much as a «Welcome to Chili’s, we’ll be right with you.» After 5 minutes of waiting, (Not kidding, 5.) We decided to spend our money elsewhere. The Red Robin around the corner opened the door for us and had us sat instantly… At the same «odd» time that Chili’s couldn’t even say Hi to us. I wrote corporate about my experience and they offered us some dining dollars and apologized. We used them at another Chili’s location and were treated well.
Flash forward to my next visit. My dad is in town and is a fan of Chili’s. He wants to go. It’s maybe 4 PM, so I briefly relate my story to him about my last visit. But, I say, surely this time will be better. We walk in, and the scenario is almost exactly the same. Bartender looking at us like we are aliens, Servers walking by without saying anything, no hostess anywhere to be found. My dad, who wanted to go there in the first place, says, «I don’t like this, lets go». So after waiting another 4 minutes we again go across the street this time to TGI Friday’s where AGAIN the door is opened for us and we receive excellent service.
It’s pretty hard to get people to come back when they can’t even get past the door. I’m done going to this Chili’s, especially when there’s competitors that obviously want my business within walking distance.

We had a small party of 3. Ordered Cajun Pasta with chicken, Chicken fajitas, Mac & Cheese from the kids menu, Seasoned French fries, & a side salad. The salad had lots of ingredients (which is perfect for those of us that do not use dressing). The chicken fajitas were brought out in a steaming hot skillet (shells on side in hot box). Cajun pasta was hot (not too spicy though) and made perfectly. Mac & Cheese was Mac & Cheese (pretty hard to screw it up-​haha!).
It was all really good & affordable. Friendly & helpful servers too. Our first visit was a hit, we’ll be back.

Fast service, fresh hot food served quickly, and easy method for checkout at the table make this Chili’s an easy place to come for lunch or dinner anytime.

LOVE THIS PLACE, you have to try the new mixed berry margarita DELICIOUS! I also recommend the buffalo chicken ranch sandwich, my fave! Fries are delicious, seasoned perfectly!

Service fair. Tables coming in after us getting food first. Not what we are use to at when eating here.

Chili’s has always been a great place for my friends and I to gather-​tonight included. The food is always great and the staff is friendly and wonderful. I hate that where I live now, the closest Chili’s is 3 hours away. I come home to the Valpo Chili’s as often as I can.

nothing special, will do for a quick cheap meal

You assume that Chili’s are all the same. Not so. According to my daddy he has been to a few and customer service is always variant. The food and drinks are nearly all the same. Their margaritas are really good. The cheap one is not worth your money. spend a bit extra and go for the platinum presidente and get more margarita and equal out moneywise and get better quality. The new shrimp tacos are spicier than you think. If you like spicy, daddy says get them. Overall this valpo one has good customer service and they have a great open bar area.

I love Chili’s! I highly recommend the mushroom jack fajita… yummmm

This location is usually busy but they seat you quickly. They are always friendly. The food is good. The hubby likes the baby back ribs. Definitely recommend.

I came here with a customer so I had to talk through my meal. We got seated right away. I had the mesquite chicken salad and it was great. Of course it was, I couldn’t finish my food and I had to leave ½ of it there because everyone else was done. RUDE! I would come back here in a minute. The service was lightning quick and the food was really good.
