This place is clean and has friendly employees. They’re super nice and accommodating. Lifestyles has a large variety of unusual gifts and toys. Definitely go there if you need to buy something cool for someone! They also have artwork upstairs and gourmet cooking stuff on the right side of the store.

Hailing from Minnesota, this shop reminds me of the quaint shops in Nisswa (which is one of my favorite places in the world). They offer just about everything you could imagine and offer friendly service. You could spend hours just browsing with several knick knacks around every corner for any person of any age! Definitely the place you want to go if you’re searching for a unique gift. It’s a labyrinth of joy :)
The true gem in this treasure shop is the top floor. Several furniture displays with unique designs, paintings, and other decorations for a home. I am so inspired by the space and wish my house looked like that…
All in all, I LOVE Lifestyles.

They have nice stuff– but if you’re a teenager like I am– they watch you like a hawk. That might just be the old owners though, I haven’t been in there for quite some time. They let me buy a lot of tissue paper once for very cheap for an art project– which was nice.

Gorgeous little shop with a unique array of gifts and novelties. The kitchen shop is fun to poke around and you’re sure to find gadgets you never even knew you needed. The jewelry is different but in a good way and the baby gifts are sure to be a hit at any shower. It’s also the best place to find a tastefull but entertainging gag gift like a cat lady action figure for the cat lover in your life or potato guns for your friends rowdy kids that you can send home to terrorize their mother with. Venture upstars while you’re here and look at amazing and near one of a kind furniture, art and décor. I come here often just to look around and always for special little gifts.

I love Lifestyles!
The upstairs gallery is a great place to wander, sip a coffee, and shop for unique art pieces.
The kitchen/​home side of the store is also great, with aprons, fancy martini shakers, and of course some new kitchen gadget that I must have.
If you’ve never been there, I recommend the shopping experience.

I’ve gushed an oozy river of love for Hazel ever since I first visited. This is my Hazel of Indiana.
The first floor has kitchen gadgets, gourmet items, jewelry, baby stuffs, toys, clothes, accessories, seasonal items, picture frames, etc. Basically, if you have an occasion to get a gift, Lifestyles has you covered. In addition, the second floor has some of the most unique and gorgeous furniture and art I’ve ever seen. In Indiana.
They often have local and not so local artists in for special shows so you never know what you’re going to find when you visit.
I believe they also do free gift wrapping, score!

Lifestyles is one of the places I miss the most in Northwest Indiana. It is typical of the kind of store that you find in small coastal towns in California. It has an eclectic mix of art, cards, and gourmet food items. It’s a place worth visiting if you’re ever in the Valparaiso, Indiana area and need a fun gift for a friend (or yourself)!
The last time I was there I fell in love with a lamp. They told me that they’d work with me to ship it but shipping was way more expensive than the lamp. Maybe next time?

This is one store I miss not living in Valpo anymore. I do come back from time to time. Each visit is a step back in time and a step forward — there are always new things to mix with the old. If you are hunting for a gift for someone you have NO IDEA what to get — this is the place to go! It’s always a standby for me at Christmas time!

LOVE LOVE LOVE.
I came to the midwest a bored californian, and left feeling inspired. Lifestyles’ fabu art pieces, gourmet food items and nature-​themed servingware will knock the socks off even the most jaded urban dweller. Who knew a little boutique in Northwest Indiana could be so utterly chic?
