There is a difference between a Med Spa and a spa at a salon. I have known this for a long time, but I must’ve tucked that information away over the last 6+ years when I was in my reproductive years and couldn’t use clinical strength products on my skin during pregnancy. So I rediscovered this difference as I find myself fighting wrinkles and adult acne at the same time. A chemical peel has come a long way, in terms of technology, especially for dark skin types. I’ve had a TCA peel and can see the benefit one week out. But I can also see the need to return again to complete my goal of smoother, clearer skin. This is associated with a physician, so the products are clinical grade. I got in the habit of getting facials at salon spa, which inevitably caused me to have breakouts. I swore off facials because my skin looks worse a few days later after the salon facial treatment. The products used here are clinically studied and proven to aid in repairing skin discoloration, wrinkles, and acne, so I did not suffer from cystic acne after treatment. And if you want Botox or fillers, the plastic surgeon can do these services, too. The prices are moderate and no attribute this to being a medical spa and not a salon spa, and therefore no tipping involved. I would give this place 5 stars, for service and quality of knowledge. To be picky, I’m not a fan of the location. It is tucked away in a older office, lacking natural lighting which somehow takes away from the concept of the meaning of Restore. I happen to have visited various plastic surgeons offices in my lifetime, and part of the field is visual marketing. Most offices I’ve seen provide a vibe and an appearance that you expect to drop cash and not break out your insurance card. Other than the location, this med spa is worth a visit for its staff and services.
