Silcott’s City Gear Shoes

I love Brad’s new store! It is comfortable and well stocked with the best brands, both for style and comfort. I bought my first pair of sandals from him in June before a huge trip. He was so helpful and provided great service. I wore the shoes dally all over Japan and Russia, and my feet and legs never ached! I am thrilled to know that we have such great choices, right here in Valparaiso.

After reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I have a very hard to fit foot and shoe shopping is generally not a pleasant experience. Hoping this was going to be a different experience, I went in on a Saturday morning. The ladies in the store were nice but did not have the knowledge to help me out. Brent seemed knowledgeable but was very distracted by any other customers that came into the store and wouldn’t take the time to provide me with the customer service required. I left very disappointed.

There is simply no other shoe store like Silcott’s — None! I wish I had taken others’ advice years ago when they told me to shop for shoes at Silcott’s. Brent is meticulous about making sure the fit is perfect, the style and color are what you want … right down to the heels and soles being made of the material you prefer. I wanted a sale-​priced, high-​end shoe, but with a different heel and sole than the manufacturer normally offered. Brent said he would give it a try. He placed a special order for the shoe to my specifications and when it arrived not exactly as I had asked, he insisted on sending it back until they got it right. To top it off, he gave me a discount on top of the already great sale price, for what he considered my inconvenience. Now, I stop in periodically to see what is on sale, and when the product is right & the price is about ½ of what I would pay at a good sale on Michigan Avenue, I buy another pair. Don’t wait like I did.

Our hospital has made it manditory to have black work shoes. I was having trouble finding the perfect shoe, they all looked very… blah. Today I found the most comfortable, cute Black Dansko shoes ever at Silcott’s! Bret was great! They even give a 10% discount for hospital employees. Thanks! :)

Been a loyal customer for nearly 10 years and Brent has always taken care of my feet accordingly. Can’t go wrong with all the choices available in the store. If you don’t see what you want, he can order exactly what you desire.

A very choice selection of shoes and excellent customer service. Brent really took the time to help me find what I was looking for. I will certainly be back.
