A great dive with really good food. The tenderloins are best that I have tried. The cheese curds and onion rings are amazing. A great local place with your basic bar food done right

This is the kind of place I would expect to find here. It’s a dive biker bar out in the sticks. Not even the suburbs of Des Moines, this is really out there. But at lunch time, there’s a nice crowd of folks who come here for the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It’s a local institution, I was told. First timers, you will want to have it battered and fried. Yes, they do one grilled and that’s probably healthier but no, have it fried. This is a huge piece of pork. More a half pound slab of delicious moist pork, dipped in batter and fried briefly. Not greasy at all. A couple pickle slices and a few rings of white onions and it’s there, twice the size of the burger bun you’re expected to eat it with. The fries are nothing to write home about. It’s all for the pork here. A squeeze or mustard or ketchup if that’s your thing. They will do take out, but it’s not really their thing. Ask really really nicely and smile, maybe they will do it. And then a nap.

I drove the 8 miles on dirt roads to a biker bar called fat randi’s. Had the best pork tenderloin of my life. It’s got to be a 10 oz boneless chop the perfect thickness with an airy breading that Randi must have gotten from his grandmother. Topped with pickles and onions and I put on plenty of mustard. half order of string onion rings was a great side. I really want to have the Randi burger after another 20 pork tenderloins. The bar is very impressive but I didn’t partake. Not rowdy at all. 5 stars all the way.
