Like many other people I have been driving past this place usually on the way to somewhere else — typically MacLeod’s. Finally stopped in and I have been missing out! This place is tiny but that’s about the only thing small about the joint. Ordered the #13 — lamb barbacoa with string cheese and chipotle. The thing was bigger than my first born. Everything about it was delicious — the lamb was perfectly cooked — tender and rich, the bread is big and toasty but not unwieldy to the bite. The chipotle gives just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavors. Can you tell I’m in love? It’s big enough to share, but screw that, get your own. What are you waiting for? Go, now!

This is a real culinary creation of a sandwich. This is real great food. This is what you need on a day you are very sad so it can instantly make you happy. This is where amazing happens.

Tried a cemita for the first time here. It was sooo tasty! I love cemitas now. I ordered the #13(barbacoa/lamb). The lamb was shredded and moist– sooo yummy. I love how these sandwiches come with avocado(no extra charge)! Got mine with chipotle sauce, which was delicious and the regular thick slices of cheese! Everything about the cemita was perfect. My boyfriend and I ordered tacos as well, but I didn’t like those too much. Can’t wait to come back and try other cemitas! Yummmmm

I returned here today after many years of being away(because I’m usually not in this area.) This tiny place has a wonderful #7, Cemita Milanes de Res and #14, Super Tacote Cecina Asada. I am not often to this area, but I am adding this as a to go place in general to pick up when I am hungry. The cemita is huge, with fresh fillings. I had mixed cheeses in mine, with jalapenos for a little kick. While the sandwich is huge, it is not heavy or dense, nor messy. The bread holds everything together well(crisp, but not to crunchy /toasted), and the beef is lightly breaded and fried balances the sandwich. The cecina asada has a different character, it is long and dense with quality guacamole and marinated steak. It is packed in a nicely served warm in a slightly chewy tortilla, which is actually balanced with a firmer beef(than what is used in the cemita) which makes a fuller meal for me than the cemita.(I ordered this to go to eat later in the day for dinner, and it held together just fine.) Each bite is wonderfully on the heavy side, filled with creamy avocado and beef. Awesome. I hope this helps you chose. I’ll try the breaded and /or marinated chicken cemita next time. They seemed popular as well among the locals.

I can’t believe this fucken place charges for Jalapeños!!! I’m so pissed. The lunch trucks don’t charges for them. It doesn’t matter how good they are when they nickle and dime you for everything. I had Cemitas taste better else where and the bread is not over toasted. Never again will I stop by here and also they are over priced.

This was my first experience with a cemita, and I now fear all other experiences in the future will pale in comparison. This was absolutely amazing. I ordered two, and forget what the second one was, but the cemita con cecina adobada was beyond delicious. Those jalapeños! Love!

Five years after earmarking this spot as a place to go to, I finally made it. It was worth the wait, and my only regret is not having this in my pocket as a place to get an awesome snack or a quick meal sooner. Their menu is fast but you want to look immediately at the cemitas. We had six different varieties — again, was five years in the making — as well as a taco Arabe. Taco was unfamiliar with any kind of meat that I cannot quite pin down served in an oversized and soft, supple tortilla but was quite delicious — and very disparate from any Mexican food I have tried previously. Very good but the big story are the sandwiches. We tried various varieties of the cheeses and sauces so we could cover as much ground as possible. literally each sandwich was better than the last — the pescado is homemade«fish sticks» served on their wonderful sesame seed roll with a heaping portion of avocado and sliced onions. Heavenly. Even the vegetarian ccemita was delicious as carrots, onions, avocado, red onions, jalapeños, peppers were pouring out of each side — definitely need an abundance of napkins to eat the sandwiches. The pollo milanese was absolutely incredible as we savory do each last bite. Cecina asada and Milanesa de res were probably my two favorite, as the meets were served in drastically different preparations — one breaded and fried, the other in short ribs style pulled striplets of meat. The homemade queso that they put on the sandwiches is a major selling point and both styles of housemates also they offer in the restaurant are awesome. The staff is friendly, the venue is a little squeezed — only three tables — and the pride of Puebla is evident in the clippings and articles on the wall. If you find yourself in the mid Valley or even South Valley, go out of your way to stop by — at six dollars per cemita, you can walk away with a feast for three people for less than $ 20.

O.M.G. this place is delicious. I have been twice this week. I get the #18 vegetarian with both cheeses and jalapeños. #17 and #18 are almost the same but 18 comes with cilantro and radish. Do yourself a favor and add both cheeses for the extra $ 2. The string cheese they use is salty and delicious and fresh. They definitely don’t skimp on the fillings… so much avocado! The green salsa they have is spicy and works well on the sandwich. The employees are friendly and super sweet. I am so glad I found this little place. Also, parking is easy which is a bonus.

The best«Hole in the wall» taco place in the Valley! Despite the appearance is clean and well kept. Authentic Mexican food, I guess estilo pueblano! The perfect take-out spot for a taco Tuesday in Van Nuys.

I didn’t know what Cemitas Poblanas was until I came here. Cemita poblana refers to a Mexican sandwich from the region of Puebla. The bread is also unique to this area. Cemitas Poblanas Don Adrian is located on the southwest corner of Kester and Victory in a corner strip mall with a small lot shared with a laundromat and liquor store. As I walked in, I immediately realized that it was good that I came here to order To Go because there were only like 3 tables. This place is tiny! I thought I thought my booty was gonna be all up in the people’s faces at the tables trying to get to the cashier. The menu is so large, so I had a tough time choosing what to order. After going back and forth, I finally decided on the Cemita Milanesa de Res(breaded pan fried thin beef). I thought it was very tasty. I really liked the combination of meat, cheese, avocado, and chipotle. It’s pretty much a torta, but with different bread. I’m definitely returning here to check out all the other yummy options.

The food is authentic and amazing. That said, you should know that this is a mom and pop shop, small locale and tight space. My favorite thing to order is a cemita de pollo empanizada.(Breaded chicken). They will charge you if you add extras such as jalapeños or chipotle, but it’s worth it. Of course you should get a Mexican Coca Cola accompany your meal.

Let me start by saying, my taste buds were having a party or should I say fiesta?. I got the #4, with everything the way it’s meant to be eaten. I have tried several of the sandwiches, they are all good in their on way, but the marinated steak is my favorite! FYI, this is to the Mexican guy who said this place blows and gave it a 1 star, suggesting only a Mexican can tell if this place is good… That’s a crock of sh*t! This place was recommended to me by several Latinos!!! I may not be «Mexican» but I know what tastes good. «Just keepin’ it real homie» The Real Foodie

For non Spanish readers… This place blows and is over priced. Also something to keep in mind, all these non Hispanic reviews are not very credible. If you want a review on Mexican food, ask a mexican(this dude rt here). Same goes for chinese or thai, if you’re not either, you simply don’t know any better.

This tiny eatery is tucked away between a liquor store and a laundromat in an old, funky looking, mini mall. Inside the small space they somehow crammed a kitchen, a counter and three tables. The space is cramped but it doesn’t mater because the food is delicious. Like most of the reviewers I didn’t know what a cemita was before I came here. Turns out it’s a big sandwich in a large, round, crusty bun. They offer lots of versions all shown in full color on the menu above the counter. I tried the Cemita Asada. It came filled with super fresh vegetables, avocado, slices of salty Mexican cheese, and hot jalapeños. On the bottom of all this was a nice layer of Carne Asada. It was huge & delicious. I could easily have split it with someone but I ate it all instead. My kids didn’t want to be experimental, so they had a plate of the avocado tacos(corn soft tacos with beef and avocado) and an order of beef-filled quesadillas. I didn’t try them but the kids said they tasted good and ate it all up.

We decided to come here for lunch based on the reviews here, I’ve never heard of cemitas before.(I had the bread alone, but never as a sandwich). We ordered the milanesa, the cecina adobada, the asada, and the árabe. I was adventurous and had papalo on mine. The price was a little high until I realized the lady offered two kinds of cheese and added $ 2.10 to each sandwich. It was good, but for four sandwiches it really adds up. The papalo left a weird taste in my mouth for hours, kinda gross after a while. All in all, we were pleased. If you are dining there, they only have like four booths. Next time I know to skip the extra cheese, skip the papalo, and ask for it to go!

You learn something new everyday. The only sandwich I had ever had that was from Mexico was a torta but today I had a Cemitas Poblanas which is a sandwich specific to the city and region of Pueblo, Mexico. The actual ingredients of the sandwich are traditional to Mexican tortas(avocado, onions, cilantro, and panela cheese) along with your meat filling of choice. What makes it unique is the bread. The bun itself which is likened to a brioche bun but firmer, cruncher on the outside. The bun itself is quite tasty. I got the adobada(marinated steak) and I must say… pretty awesome. Def check this place out.

This place is a gem. I get the Adobado Steak Cemita(#4) nearly every time. The English translation under the sandwich name is «Beef Jerky» but don’t be fooled. The meat is tender and delicious. Tons of avocado, ask for the string cheese, jalapeños and chipotle peppers, red onions… yes please. The place is unassuming and homey. Their salsas are both delicious. The red is roasty and dry, and the the green is salty and sweet, and both very liquidy, perfect for pouring all over your sandwich. They women behind the counter are sweet and show no mercy at the grill. I will keep coming back forever. World class sandwiches for $ 6. Grab one and head to MacLeod’s for a beer down the street.

After so many years of living in LA, I am pretty embarrassed to say that I had never heard of a cemitas. A friend of mine found this place on accident and he had never had one either. From the pictures, they looked like tortas, but he assured me they were much more. I took one of those dreaded tips to the valley just to give one of these glorified tortas a try and he was right, they are pretty damn good. While there I tried three different ones and enjoyed them in this order: barbacoa, lomo de puerco, milanesa de res. The barbacoa was just amazing all around. The meat was so succulent and juicy. One thing to note about this one, since it is marinated, do not take it to go. One of the best parts of these cemitas is the bread. It is toasted and crunchy, like an amazing baguette. Because the barbacoa is marinated, it will make the bread soggy very quickly and that really detracts for an essential part of the sandwich. If you’re going to get one to go, get one of the breaded camitas as they are dryer. I would actually say they are too dry and need a good amount of their verde sauce. Luckily the verde here is pretty good. One last thing, if you get both types of cheese, it is an additional $ 2.50, but it doesn’t mention this anywhere. Just get the string cheese, it’s better than the regular cheese and you don’t have to increase the cost of your sandwich by 50%. They also have breakfast cemitas which I hope to try soon
