This place left me unsatisfied for the following reasons: 1) cash only 2) 30 minute wait for 2 pupusas, which wouldn’t of been such a problem if they weren’t brought to me warm, not hot like I expected. 3) the sauce was too runny 4) they only served me enough Curtido for 1 pupusa, which was not spicy enough for my taste The only thing going for this place is the large dinning area and a variety of dishes.

Was craving pupusas and this place was close by. I honestly felt instantly sad when I walked in this place. The energy and mood of everyone working and eating there appeared dour. Endless boxes of toilet paper fill the back wall, which such a pleasant sight to stare at while waiting for my pupusas and yucca chicharron appetizer. As I was enjoying the pork, cheese, and bean pupusa I saw a hair on the chicharron plate. Yuck! Disgusting! I know, but somehow my starvation made me finish my pupusas. Don’t judge me! Regardless of the gross hair in the yucca chicharron app, i begrudgingly admit the pupusas are still really good. Not oily or over salted. I would only be back because there are hardly any pupuserias in the area.

Came in here for a quick breakfast. It took 25 minutes to get 2 orders of chorizo con huevos & one of huevos rancheros. The cashier/waitress isn’t very friendly. I know you don’t want to be there, but they’re paying you to pretend like you want to be there. It calls itself a Salvi/Mexican restaurant, but it tasted straight Salvi. You only get one refill on your drink, & that’s if you didn’t get the taco or pupusa combo, then you’re screwed cause you get no refills. Will not be coming back.

After my short stint as a juror at the Los Angeles Superior Court, I was craving a Salvadoran horchata to quench my thirst on a hot summer day. I walked around for a bit and happily came across El Cafetal. The Staff was friendly and efficient. I ordered an horchata and two pupusas revueltas. The horchata came right away, but the pupusas took a pretty long time. The horchata was spot on! One of the best I’ve ever tried. It was a bit on the sweeter side though so it might not be for everyone. The pupusas were a disappointment. They were too salty for my taste and the flavors were kind of jumbled together, but not in a good way. I couldn’t eat more than half of one, so I took the rest home to give to my mother. I was really surprised because my mom actually ended up liking them. She even said it reminded her of pupusas back home. FYI She was born and raised in Santa Ana, El Salvador soooooo idk… you can take my advice and pass on these, or go with my mom and give them a try. On the other hand, we both agreed that we’ve had way better. I might return to this place, but only for that delicious horchata.

I’ve been patiently searching for a pupuseria like the one that use to be my favorite until they moved(Tony’s) location. This place wasn’t bad but didn’t live up to my expectations the rojo sauce for my pupusas sadly… forgettable. But I did really like the shredded cabbage they made it tangy with a little spice.

Short and sweet. I like this place, not head over heels in love but I like it. I tried the pupusas which were good. Customer service was, okay. I’ll be back when I get the craving for pupusas, but maybe I’ll try something else, just to see how it is.

I should be taking off a star because I was just there tonight along with another boy we parked at the same time only to get out and notice the place was closed? Seriously, their«store hours» still said they were open! Contrary to the person below me these are the best pupusas I have found in the valley– usually they’re either too greasy, the cheese tastes nasty, or something else is going on. They have $ 1 pupusas Mondays and Tuesdays and also have a three taco with drink special for lunch throughout the week. I’ve been wanting to try the atol de elote. If you live around or work in the area you can order by phone and have your order ready for pick up. I will definitely be trying this again!

It’s sad, so sad. I was really hoping this place would be delicious. There is Nothing like a pupusa craving at night. We gave this place a try and it is not very good. Positives: Parking, this place has parking in the back. Pupusas are yummy, not the best but not the worst Negatives: Tamales were awful, literally the worst tamales I have ever had. No flavor, no salt Service is horrible. We were the only ones there and we never got a check up on our food and water. The server for some reason put our forks inside the pupusa. Im not sure what the pupusa did to deserve a fork stabbing. Had to ask for cheese and white sauce for casamiento. Really? This is common sense. Décor, this place needs a makeover bad!!! Overall it was not very good.

Id give it one star for everything but 4 for the pupusas. Hubby wanted tamales and we found out the hard way that this place wasn’t where to go to get them. Just a short bike ride from our love shack, we decided to give it a try. Were white so by no means an authority but I know me some tamales and these were gross. La señorita behind the counter warned me they were«el Salvadoran«style and I have no idea what that means but they were like jello and filled with chickpeas(I didn’t mind and hubby did) and very little chicken which hubby hitched about to no end. Only one refill… ghey. But they have Mexican coke, which is awesome. Just when I thought all was lost they brought out the pupusa … cheesy doughy. Goodness. Delicious like no other. One dollar of the best money I spent all day. Spare yourself the rest of the menu and come for the pupusas and Mexican coke! Cash only! The hot sauce is weak! No beer!

Eh, I’ve had better pupusas from someone’s backyard grill. Not bad, but just not great. The shrimp one was the worse. Tasted like frozen shrimp that wasn’t even washed off or seasoned. Cash only. I’d go back, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it…

I drove by this place a couple of weeks ago as they were preparing for the opening and saw the beacon of light beckoninh me to return. Actually it was just a canvas banner, but the words said«ALLYOUCANEATPUPUSAS». However, when I returned, their was no pupusa buffet, just a salsa bar that had an unused section where hot food could theoretically be dispensed. So that was a disappointment, but I decided to stick around and give them a try anyway. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito($ 3.95) and a Pupusa combo($ 1.99) which was a bean, cheese and pork pupusa and a fountain drink. As soon as i paid, I was given a cup, straw and lid and proceeded over to the coke fountain where I found that i would only be entitled to one refill; and there was no ice. I had to wait for the woman to get me a bucket of ice, and a scoop. That bucket(not insulated by the way) sat there on the counter throughout my meal, and later customers got smaller and smaller ice cubes. I was served the burrito first. It was massive and packed with asada. I added green salsa and a cilantro onion mix to the burrito and it tasted great. however the meat was so overcooked, that some of it was unchewable. I hate having to take food out of my mouth with a napkin; especially since they ration the napkins. I was thinking one star at this point. But the pupusa made up for it. I should have ordered several. it sat for a couple of minutes as i finished working on the burrito, but was still piping hot when I got to it. it was one of the best pupusas ever. They didn’t mention the pupusas on the wall menu(at least not that I noticed) but I did grab a takeout menu and noticed they have about 8 varieties; aklll in the $ 2.50 to $ 3.50 range. How good was the pupusa? It was so good that in spite of the 1 star burrito, I am looking to go back and try some of the other pupusas. Oh and I grabbed a second Diet Coke refill anyway. Shame on me.
