Fay Jones, L.Ac

I contacted Fay Jones to set up a face to face consultation for fertility acupuncture treatments. Fay Jones gave me a call back and asked a few question over the phone, took down my health insurance information and set me up with an appointment. Fay then called me back and informed me that she could not get a definite approval from my health insurance, so we agreed that I would pay her cash until she was able to get an approval through my health insurance to pay my treatment. When I arrived I was kind of skeptical since her practice was held at a home. Anyways she seemed pretty informative and helpful, but her prices were much higher than highly rated and reputable facilities. I still thought I’d give her a try. She asked for my whole history which took like an hour and finally started treatment. When she was sticking me with the needles, they felt so dual compared to my former treatments I had elsewhere. That was my first concern. Finally after treatment I went home and spoke to my husband about my treatment and the cost. My husband then voiced that her prices were too high and that she didn’t sound much like a professional. So I sent her a courteous email informing her that I would not continue treatment because her prices were not in my budget. She then emailed me back and explained that the cost was including the consultation AND treatment, plus she did NOT charge me a fee for an over the phone consultation, which I was already aware of… BUT I should be grateful that she didn’t charge me for her asking me questions over the phone??? WHAT? When I first started looking into acupuncture, I called many reputable facilities, NONE charged an over the phone consultation and MOST did not charge a consultation fee, some did but were still $ 45 less than what she charged for consultation AND $ 30 less than what she charged for actual treatment. The only reason I went with her because she claimed to specialize in fertility. Any how, 2 days after I informed her that I was going to discontinue my treatment with her, she sent in a claim to my health insurance for a total of $ 245 which was a larger amount then what I was required to pay for my first visit EVEN when I had already paid her cash for that same visit. I was Baffled! She seemed so honest and sincere. I immediately emailed her and question it and of course she did NOT respond… Its horrific that much trusted people that speak to the community and are role model figures to the public would do such petty things to get over on such a little amount of money. I don’t understand and I feel betrayed. I filed a grievance with my health insurance company as I have my cash receipt she gave me the day of my treatment.
