I was referred to Dr. Fazio by another eye doctor and she was amazing! She quickly diagnosed my eye problems and I went to her for surgery. How she managed to keep my eye opened the whole time, without my blinking is pretty amazing.(I can’t even put drops in my eyes). She’s also very kind, articulate and very patient. She also took the time to answer all of my questions and never rushed me out of the office, like some other doctors do. She’s also been to some top medical schools. I highly recommend her!

Unfortunately I had the opportunity to witness myself how bad Dr. Fazio is. Read below and save yourself the agony. As patients we find it hard to judge the expertise of a doctor. It takes special experiences or another highly regarded doctor to make a good judgment, otherwise we tend to confuse courteous and professional attitude with real expertise. I went to Valley Eye Center to get prescription eye drops, which I was using for many years. A few times a year I would suffer from irritation in my eyes. I used to go to Dr. Charles Abbott in Beverly Hills. He would prescribe me eye-drops that took care of this irritation in a matter of 2 – 3 days. He even figured out the source of the irritation and offered solutions. He was an amazing doctor, but he passed away and I needed the drops — seems like a very easy case. Since my right eye was a little irritated and I was home due to a nasty cold, I decided to go to Valley Eye Center. When Dr. Fazio examined me she refused to prescribe the drops, claiming they were harmful. Instead she checked my eyes and found in both eyes something that she removed and claimed that I should be fine. She went ahead(without my authorization) and performed a full eye examination including dilation. After what felt like a thorough examination she told me that although my eye pressure was normal there was a difference in the optic nerves between the two eyes, which could point to Glaucoma. Not a pleasant observation, especially when made by an Ophthalmologist who is an expert in this area. The first suspicion arose when I drove home. My eyes were still dilated and painful. I did not have any pain before her treatment, and no problem driving there. Later that day and during the night my eyes were hurting to the point that I could not sleep well. The next morning I called Valley Eye Center and tried to reach the doctor for help and maybe for a prescription. After all I was not able to go to work as a result of the visit to their office. The front desk would not let me speak to the doctor and I was informed that she would not prescribe me the eye drops, or any other medication. I looked franticly for another doctor and ended up going to my wife’s eye doctor, a well respected Beverly Hills Ophthalmologist. My wife had to drive me to the appointment!!! The doctor examined my eyes. He had no problem giving me the eye-drops prescription. The next day I could drive to work and 2 days later my eyes were back to normal. A month later he performed a thorough examination that included the optic nerve(just on the safe side). He did see a minor difference, which he considered to be quite normal! Needless to say that his examination did not cause any pain. I really do not need to say more. If you are ready to visit Dr. Fazio you now know what you are getting yourself into. I have my suspicion as to the Glaucoma diagnosis, but I would not say anything that I cannot prove. There is enough information in my personal experience that should make you not want to see this doctor.
