Fred’s Photos & Fingerprints

Such an awesome place of business. For the past five years, I’ve been coming to this location for fingerprinting, DOJ and FBI background/​criminal checks, and passport photographs. Staff is prompt and reliable. Pricing is fair. As for parking, metered parking is available alongside street parking.

I went to Fred’s today to get a fingerprint card done for work. I actually found him through Unilocal,because I had no idea where to get an old-​school fingerprint card. I’m happy to report that the Unilocal reviews are true. Fred is a great guy who gets the job done. Price was very reasonable and service was fast and courteous. Bonus — his shop is a real blast from the past. Cool little shopfront business that’s been around forever. GO!

We came in to do our fingerprints. I’ve needed to do several fingerprinting before and it takes about 15 min or more for other places (including UPS). Fred’s only took 2 min! Good service!

Fred is such a generous person. Very kind and quick in doing live scans and accepts walk-​ins. I needed my fingerprints done same day and he took me minutes before he closed. I am very grateful he was so helpful.

I come here whenever I need fingerprinting/​livescan or passport photo done. They are nice and accommodating. One day I came and they are already close but they still took me on. The service is really good and fast.

I had to get my fingerprints done for some backgrounds checks and I came across this wonderful place. Fred did my live scan and then two ink fingerprint rolls. He did them perfectly. I sent them in and both were accepted by the agencies. He was a pleasure to do business with, we chatted the whole time, and his prices were on par with everything else I have seen. Thank you!

Came here to do my fingerprinting and it was quick! Loved the photos on the wall and owner was very friendly! He did my live scan and told me about past experiences that he had that were bad. And told me to rate on Unilocal and I always do and he gave me good quick service so I give 5 starts for friendliness and him working in a timely manner. Thank you!

Live Scan Fingerprinting? Ehh… maybe for you, but not again for me.
Anything else? Nope.
This mom & pop shop has been here forever — or at least, it looks like it has. I can’t imagine they do much (if any) photo services, since the sample photos they have posted appear to be from the 90s and are seriously faded.
What this place does do is Live Scan fingerprinting. They charge a couple dollars less than several nearby places when I called around. Our experience was that the guy who runs and owns this place isn’t that comfortable with new technology. Our initial fingerprinting went okay and we were on our way after about 30 minutes.
A couple weeks later, we find out that one of the Live Scans was not done properly and needed to be re-​done. We called ahead to explain, which is when we got resistance. The owner wanted to charge us again for the full amount, even though the mistake wasn’t ours. After we thought it was all resolved, we arrived at the store and he realized that the government rates since our initial visit have gone up, so he demanded that we pay him the difference for both of our Live Scans. After arguing with him in front of other customers, he finally gave in and did the rescan of the fingerprints.
All of this boiled down to a barrier in communication and an inept Live Scan operator. Others might have better experiences here. Unfortunately, we did not.
