DONOTSELLYOURAPPLIANCESTOTHISCOMPANY! I recently had a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator in great working condition picked up by their employees. They were supposed to give me ¼ of what it was worth once they do their 72 hour test where they let the refrigerator run for that amount of time to be sure everything is working properly. WELL… 6 days later I get a phone call that our refrigerator isn’t working and that it’s not cooling. Tell me how a perfectly good refrigerator goes from working condition to not cooling within a matter of days. They should’ve contacted me after the 3 days as I was told instead they waited 6 days. I can’t help but be suspicious of the way they do business.

This is a fantastic place with some of the best business practices I have come across. I went In today to purchase a new refrigerator. After viewing the current stock they did not have a unit that would fit my needs. After a great conversation with James Apepogu he offered to check with one of his competitors. He took the time to call and found that his peer had 2 units that would fit my needs. This is great customer service and shows how ethical this operation is. I highly recommend James and Kimo’s Appliances. If in the LA /Valley area and you find yourself needing quality appliances at super discount prices, this is the place!

I wish I could give 0 stars. This place has great employees, very kind and helpful but the manager is the most unprofessional and rude person I’ve ever spoke to. He, and I quote«is all about the business and making money» vs customer service. He WILL rip you off if you try to sell your appliances to him and he will quote you certain prices then change them last minute. He quoted me $ 75.00 each for my fridge and washer/dryer which were way underpriced then I went on CL and found someone else to buy the washer/dryer for a way more reasonable price and let him know that it would just be the fridge at pick up then he told me it went down to $ 50 and I said I was quoted for $ 75? And he replied«well I’m the manager and we don’t need your fridge, it’s a old model it will be hard to sell, you can try CL» just the tone and the way he spoke to me was completely rude and unprofessional, I was shocked to hear this from a MANAGER. I called him out on being rude and he did apologize at least. Then not even 24 hours later after they picked my fridge up, I got at least 30 calls on CL about my fridge And they wanted to buy it for the price I wanted and kimos has a 72hr period where they’ll check out your appliance and make sure it’s in working condition and I called the day after they picked it up to see if I could get it back in a couple days and I spoke to Juan(who had superb customer service skills that I appreciate) and he said yes of course it looks like they haven’t done anything to it yet. So I called someone back from CL who was in dire need of a fridge(a single father) but then I got a call hours later from Juan apologizing that the manager said he already looked at it, put hours into cleaning it(HAHAWHAT A JOKE), and I already signed papers saying it was his property and he’s not giving it back. Which first of all I’m not mad at what happened. I DID sign papers, I know miscommunication happens, I know we all make mistakes, I work in customer service, we’re all human but I know that cheapskate manager did not take a look at it, he’s full of it and is all about the money. I know this review will not phase him but he needs to know and all his potential customers need to know that they deserve CUSTOMERSERVICEFROMHIMESPECIALLY. He seriously needs to take a class on it because he lacks it terribly. All other employees(especially Juan) are exceptional and are the example of what it should be. The big boss needs to take notes from them. Also I did wait to make this review until I received my check cause God knows with that manager and he actually wrote it out for the $ 75 that I was originally quoted so that was a nice gesture. Point blank: use caution when doing business with this manager because it is not about you, it’s about him and I truly hope he takes something from this and improves or else his business won’t last forever.

So I found this place on Unilocal since I’m a frequent Unilocaler and I live in the area. I went and bought a used washer got it delivered yesterday. This place offers free delivery Within a 3 miles radius, my issue is I just got this washer yesterday and we happen to get a washer from a family friend. So the washer WEJUSTGOTYESTERDAY we no longer need I called the office spoke to Ti and let him know what was going on. He said he would talk to the owner James and the owner James would get back to us. About an hour later he calls me back said they couldn’t give us our money back? I understand if it was weeks, even months(within the warranty) buts it’s only been 1 day not even 24 hours! Now that just makes me worried. The fact that he’s so anxious to get rid of his merchandise??? Then Ti goes on to tell me WE have to bring back the washer AND a 20% deduction will apply to the amount we paid for the washer !!! Are you kidding me?! How unprofessional… Do not recommend this place at all !!

For a used place, there’s a good selection, but that’s about all the positive I can say. This place is way overpriced. Also, James is a shady character. He’s got salesman stink all over him… he’ll do everything he can to get the most money out of you. When I finally bought something, I brought it home and it didn’t work. Although they say 90 day warranty with repair, it’s their discretion whether they’ll fix it or not. Don’t be surprised when they make you bring it all the way back for«store credit.» Be wise, go elsewhere.

We ordered a refrigerator here. The staff are great and we got a good deal for paying cash. We were told they would deliver between 1 – 3 but they showed up at 4. That’s really the only negative. Otherwise they were quick and informative. Good deal.

Great customer service. I sold my refrigerator to them. They even checked it for three days before they paid me so they could make sure it had no problems. That actually made me feel a lot better because it means all of their inventory is tested and works. Ive been burned by other places but I would feel good buying here.

I recently bought a vintage O’Keefe & Merritt stove from James at Kimo’s. The entire experience was excellent. The stove was delivered right away and on time. A burner did not ignite upon delivery, and the delivery men attempted to fix it, but they couldn’t. James was immediately on the phone and set up a technician to come out right away. The tech fixed it quickly. I would go back, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Incredible customer service. I bought a used fridge and they worked with me every moment to drop it off at a convenient time. Once the fridge was delivered, it unfortunately had a problem the first day. They called me back immediately, organized to have someone come out to look at it. It needed a new compressor. They told me I could wait to have the compressor put in if I really liked that fridge(a difficult job as it has to be welded in and needs to be done in their workplace so would take about a week) or swap it out for another. I got another and love it. They gave me a choice of what I wanted which I appreciated. But mostly I was impressed with the customer service. James was extremely apologetic about the first fridge not working properly, constantly kept me in the loop on getting the problem solved, and moved speedily. The other folks that worked there were very helpful too. Further they are not hard sell which I appreciated when buying the unit. BTW they are the only ones that I know of who have a 90 day warranty on used appliances — they stand by their products and it’s not a hassle to have them fulfill the warranty!

Great Company and People! Needed a refrigerator for a rental unit that same day. I called them needing very specific features and measurements and they found one and delivered it that day. Great price and each person I spoke was polite, professional and owner did follow up call to verify we were happy with unit. Definitely recommend Kimo’s Appliances.

Updating my review because Kimo refunded my money and picked up the washer and dryer. He came to my house and got the machine to work, but I did not want the unit as I was concerned with its reliability in the future. I ended up purchasing a brand new unit elsewhere and I am happy that I did.

There is so much wrong with this place I can’t even begin. You are better off buying new. I got new washer and dryer for the same price they were charging for used. These appliances are put together using parts from all kinds of other appliances. Save yourself and your money!!!

I am updating my review. I been doing business with James the owner for a few years and have purchased several thousands of appliances. The service at times was questionable and frustrating but the owner is sincere and honest. I realized like any owner we sometimes don’t have quality employees because they feel entitled. I recommend that that you deal with the owner himself. He keeps his word. I truly will Be loyal to this business.

I bought a «refurbished» washer and dryer stackable unit from these guys and have NOTHINGBUTPROBLEMS. Both the washer and dryer have broken down many times needing constant repairs. Hardly worth the savings from buying a new unit. I have had to take off work multiple times to meet them for repairs and no one is reimbursing me for that. DONOTRECOMMEND :(

First, most of the appliances they sell have some kind of damage(scratches, dents, missing parts or mechanical and technical problems) Second, the customer service is awful. I needed a gas dryer that could be delivered. I didn’t want to pay too much and I was tired of getting jerked around on Craigslist. So I found Kimo’s. Turns out it was just a few blocks from my house and so I drove over for a look-see. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by an employee, I asked to look at inexpensive gas dryers. I was taken into a very clean showroom(just concrete floors and white walls, but spotless). Shown 5 different models all in great used condition. I picked one out, paid and was told delivery would be between 3 – 5 that same day! At 3:15pm, a delivery truck pulled up and two nice delivery guys shook my hand and dropped off and hooked up my new(to me) dryer. They took away my old dryer too. No charge for delivery or hook-up!(Within a 3mi. radius, though their delivery fees did seem reasonable) I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the store, the product I purchased and the quick, efficient customer service I received from Kimo’s. I would highly recommend you check here before buying any new appliance. All of their used appliances have a 90 warranty too! Who does that on used stuff?! These guys! They also delivery in a 50mi radius, so if you live far away but still want a great deal… call these guys up!
