Apparently when donating an expensive, high quality couch to this organization, you have to make sure that it is showroom condition, otherwise they won’t take it. I never realized that people in need required a higher standard than the average consumer. For a charity, their donation standards are laughable. I plan on finding a real charity.

Wow… A little shocked by their charity donation process. I called to donate a 50″ HD digital flat screen projector TV. It was 8 years old but in perfect working condition. I had a buyer that originally wanted to take the TV but decided to not sell it and donate it to this charity. I held the TV for an entire week and when their pick up service came to pick up the item they said that it wasn’t good enough for them to take due to it being to old and couldn’t take it because the foundation couldn’t get that much money for it to sell it… Their delivery service even called them to make sure and they still said no & could care less that its condition was perfect wow. I could have sold it myself… I was donating it for a family or individual to use that couldn’t afford one. Crazy that I held it for a week for them based around their«pick up schedule». Hopefully this review will help others to have a backup plan or perhaps encourage the charity to tighten up their process. I’ll be sure to hire folks next time to ensure that it ends up in the right folks hands… Which is what I ended up having to do. Save yourself some time & just do that.

This place is fabulous. Always find great home goods or — surprisingly — fabulous vintage jackets. But please don’t let the word get out because then it’ll end up being picked over like its more centrally located counterparts!
