Just ordered«To Go» and the customer service was awesome. I forgot to add cheese to my order and the owner rushed to the kitchen to make sure the cheese was added. The food was great and very JUICY! Highly recommend this place. Great service. Great food.

THISPLACEISMFBOMB! My friends and I were looking for a cool spot to eat while waiting for my gf to get her hair done while we were in LA. Saw this place was one of the highest reviewed in the NATION, and man those reviews are ONPOINT. I have never tasted a more flavorful, juicy burger in my lifetime. The sauce was seriously smokey and delicious with a good kick. The burger was generously portioned and the MAC N CHEESE omg, absolutely FANTASTIC. My friend even ordered one of the lesser known items the Meatball Sliders and lo and behold even they tasted delicious. I would definitely recommend if you are in the LA Area to try this place. Service is great and it looks like you’re eating in a saloon. Food is just incredible I can’t wait to try it again.

On this visit the wait was absurd but the owner made up for it by being hospitable and generous. They had a big group ahead of us so that took a lot of the kitchen’s . I’m still dreaming about their signature. So juicy and tasty and well dreamy with that blue cheese hiding inside that fat and thick patty. I wish they weren’t so far away. Maybe a second location somewhere south of it? Dining tables and chAirs can use a little upgrade. It has a western theme going on. Good iced teas.

Oh my gosh! First time and I love it! Will definitely come back and recommend to my friends and everyone out there! Loved the huge Outlanders Burger(friend) and Hawaian burger for myself. Both to die for! Mango Palmer a must to go with your meal. Didn’t like the black tea that much. Everything was free refill from the drinks to the chips! Free brownie when you leave! I have so much to try when I come back! Oh, by the way, the max and cheese was perfect!!!

Amazing burger, the food quality is amazing, Guy Fieri needs to come check out this place. The Mac and cheese is a meal on its own, it was amazing, and I love the fact that they used garlic in it. Definitely would recommend this place to others.

The Outlaw burger is one of my all time favorite burgers and Outlaw Café is also one of my go to places whenever I’m in LA. I love this place for many reasons: 1. The outlaw burger is simply incredible. First off, just look at all the pictures. Its hard to get a true appreciation of the shear size of the burger because everything else on the plate(steak fries, knife, etc) are also large. The huge slices of bacon, the bread that is perfectly textured, the meat that has a unique experience with each bite – sometimes you get a burst of blue cheese and sometimes you get juicy onions. It may seem tempting to cut the burger, but any Outlaw expert knows you can’t because its one of the«rules». These rules are here for a reason: to give you the best possible eating experience. If you aren’t ready to handle a burger of this magnitude, then get the bandito. It’s smaller but has all the same components. Personally I think the bandito just doesn’t come out as juicy as the outlaw burger maybe just because there is less meat juices but regardless both are great. 2. The steak fries. These are more like mini potatoes. I just love biting into them and tasting the yummy flavor combined with the skin and the soft potato inside. The seasoning I prefer is the mixed, but the garlic and the spicy are also great. 3. The service. Everyone here is just simply so nice and it feels like you are eating at a friends house. I’ve had the owner(I think he is the owner at least…) come sit next to us and just have great conversations. 4. Wild mac & cheese. If you want to have your diet cheat day, this is for you. They also have a version that isn’t as spicy. I think it is called the not so wild mac and cheese. Great for kids who don’t like spicy. 5. THEBROWNIES. You must get them. I don’t want to spoil the unique flavor of it or the secret ingredient. Ill just say that they aren’t your typical brownies. First timers get them for free so bring a friend and you can both enjoy. Side note: everything I have had here is great. I didn’t list all that I’ve tried but I trust that what ever is on their menu has been made with love.

I really wish I could have had the chance to rate this place for their food but instead I can only comment on the fact I walked in on a Thursday evening with my son and was completely ignored by the staff. After sitting waiting over 10 minutes at a table while they served people that came in after us. The waitress finally barely acknowledged me and didn’t apologize when I said I had been waiting for over 10 minutes. F’ that place. We left.

I got the Mother Load & boy oh boy was it was a load of goodness to my palette. The Italian flavors in my Sloppy Joe were amazing. I myself am a lover of spicy foods &BBQ sauce which I asked for on the side to boost the already amazing flavors. This was no ordinary Sloppy Joe, it was a hug one which I can’t believe I finished it and along with it were some tasty potato wedges the size of like 3 fingers each. I will come back again soon to try more foods. P. S. I got some tasty Brownie’s at the end.

This place has been on my radar for awhile since it was on the Unilocal 100 places to try in America. It’s a saloon theme burger joint and they’re known for their burgers. I got the Bandito Burger. It was massive! I split half of it with my friend and even then it was still filling, even if you share. Outlaws have rules and they’re the following: 1. You will not cut the burger 2. You will not ask for ketchup or mustard 3. You will not ask for well done 4. You will feel at home here 5. You will have a good time. I had to cut my burger myself to split it, since it’s their first rule and ketchup and mustard was not necessary since their burgers are flavorful. The burger was juicy, hence you can’t ask for the burger to be well done. I read so many people raving about their Mac and Cheese, so we ended up sharing it. I’m lactose intolerant and it’s a hit and miss when I eat Mac and Cheese and I’ll have to say the quality of it was good and my stomach approved it. I was really impressed with the owner, who was walking around greeting customers and making them feel at home. The owner sat down at our table and talked with my friends and I and he was so nice and provided excellent customer service. I would definitely come back and try their other burgers on the menu. *Parking– you can park in their private lot or there’s street parking*

Came in around 6:30pm on a Sunday. The place doesn’t have private parking unfortunately so we had to park on the street which wasn’t bad. But I do think during lunch time it’ll be hard to find a spot close by. The street parking had meters but since it was Sunday we didn’t have to pay.(Parking 3⁄5) Once we were inside we saw they had outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. We decided to sit inside & we notice they place had a intimate vibe to it. The inside felt very rustic & comfortable almost like you were at home. The seats & tables were very clean no type of residue or spots. The noise level was quiet and calm, it was nice to be able have a conversation without having to yell or shout.(Ambiance 5⁄5) When we were seated we were handed our menus & given some time to look over them. During this time a man named Erick came up to our table & took our drink orders. He came back with our drinks & pulled up a chair started to explain in detail the differences with a few signature items on the menu. He even gave us suggestions & recommendations on what to get. He was so polite & you could tell he loved the food that they produced he took pride in it.(Service 5⁄5) I got the Mango Iced Tea with a Bandito Burger & the Spicy Outlaw Steak Fries. Everything came out quick, fresh and steaming hot. The Mango Iced Tea(5⁄5) I personally don’t like sugary beverages but Erick recommended it so I had to try it. It was perfect & unlike any other ice tea I’ve tried. It was serviced in a cute good sized mason jar over ice with a straw. The drink was super refreshing & not overly sugary at all. The mango provided the right amount of sweetness. The Bandito Burger(5⁄5) was ½ pound beef burger stuffed with blue cheese it had grilled onions, garlic, lettuce, tomatoes & bacon. All that on a pretzel bun this one the best burgers I’ve ever had. This burger elevated my standards on what a good burger actually is. It was so juicy and every component added a good level of flavor. The Spicy Outlaw Steak Fries(5⁄5) I love potatoes & I love spice, these were great! They were the thickest fries I’ve ever had. Each fry felt like it was a mini baked potato. Now when they say spicy they’re not kidding these were a bit too spicy even for me. Next time I go I’ll get their garlic ones instead cause that heat was to much for me. Sadly they were so busy that day that they ran out of their famous brownies. But Erick said my friend & I could stop by anytime this week to get one since they ran out. Summary: The best burger spot in Van Nuys hands down! Stop going to a fast food restaurant for a sad excuse of a burger & come down here to experience a real quality made burger!

If you’re ever stuck doing your civic duty being a juror, heck even if not, you can brighten your day by lunching at this café located across the street from the courthouse. The surrounding may not be too pleasing, as it is slewed with several bail bonds business. Don’t let that sway you. You can dine indoor or in the outside patio. This being the heart of the valley, it was way too hot to lunch outside. As the bandit was too big to eat, I opted for the pilgrim burger, build your own type. It came accompanied with homemade chips. You can either have that plain, spicy, or garlic flavored. Never shy of the heat, I went for the spicy. Nice and crunchy. I am not a big fan of flavored tea, but wow their mango ice tea was quite tasty and refreshing. The staff was nice and friendly. And the place comfy. This place is a gem.

My brother knows I’m a burger lover, which is exactly the reason he told me that I MUST give the Outlaw Café a try. The«outlaw/Texas/Southern» theme definitely comes through in the décor on the walls, as well as the menu itself; bear droppings and prairie weed are just two of many cleverly named items to choose from. I myself went for the Bandito burger, the signature burgers smaller and a less expensive brother($ 15.00). It was actually the perfect size for me. I wanted it rare, but the waitress highly suggested getting it med rare instead, which was still pretty rare which was great. The burger had such great flavor and it was so juicy. It immediately became obvious after the first bite why this place is ranked #52 in Unilocal’s Top 100 places to eat 2016. The burger was also pretty spicy(probably the jalapeño bacon stuffed inside, as well as the strips that were laid upon the patty itself). I decided to go with steak fries to accompany the burger. I ordered them both spicy and garlicy which is an excellent way to go. Only five fries were on the plate, but they were so big I didn’t even finish them. The combination of garlic and spice was perfect. Plus they’re steak fries, which in my opinion is one of the better types of fries to get. After the burger was devoured I was able indulge in their cayenne brownie. That’s right ladies and the gentlemen; this spicy train is not stopping. The cayenne doesn’t hit you until after you’ve finished each bite. It’s a much smoother spiciness with the help of the sweetness from the brownie. Around 2:00 on a Sunday the place was fairly empty. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall I had a most excellent burger inhaling experience.

Saloon Theme Burger joint with great service and great food! The place is smaller than expected, but there’s plenty of tables and booth for parties of 2 to 4. I would not recommend large parties here at Outlaws Café for the same reason. Burgers are what they are known for, so go for it! It’s fair to say that these burgers are massive and the best part is that there are varieties of it; size and type. I was able to split a small burger and was still stuffed in the end. Plus, the steak fries are nom, nom good. You’ll also be able to pick the 3 types of seasoning; my favorite is the garlic! Also, don’t forget their house made Arnold Palmer mixed with Mango Ice Tea. Go enjoy and take a big bite of your delicious burger!

We checked out this place because of the high Unilocal ratings. There was no wait on a Friday night. Ambiance: small mom and pop feel Parking: street Service: extremely friendly staff Food #Bandit burger: $ 15 and 1.50 extra for fries. Burger was good but nothing to write home about. They discourage adding ketchup or hot sauce. #Hawaiian sausage burger: $ 15, mac/cheese side for extra $ 3. The mac/cheese was yummie with bacon bits. Very rich. However the sandwich was pretty pedestrian. It was super sweet with the pineapple and sauces. #Mango tea: not sure what the hype is about. Tastes like water with a splash of mango kool aid. Tip: chips and fries are bottomless for free. However it can take a while so order refills soon Parking: street only I think. We aren’t sure what the hype is about. Presentation and service is good. However 2 burgers and 1 ice tea with 18% tip came out to be about $ 50 which is not a great value. Menu is very plain. We liked Grill Em All much more in terms of taste and creativity. Overall it’s ok but we won’t come back again or recommend this place. Mainly because it’s $$ for burgers and we just weren’t that impressed by the taste.

Really liked this place. We found this place through Unilocal and glad that we stumbled upon it. Eric, who I presumed was the owner, came by and chatted us up while we waited for our food, and we enjoyed talking to him! Really funny and personable. Too bad our food took an eternity to arrive. Eric was aware of the situation… but he and all his friendly staff made up for that negative point. I had the bison balls and upgraded my chips to the potato wedges, and initially, I had asked for the garlic & spicy flavor but make the spice level mild… My wedges came out just straight spicy and burned a hole in my mouth. It was SPICY. They really powder a generous heaping of cayenne on those bad boys. Luckily, our server was super attentive and brought out regular wedges for me because she saw me fanning my mouth. I would order the bison balls again. One order came with 4 meatball sliders with meat marinara sauce in hawaiian buns. I ate 2 sliders and 1 potato wedge, and that was enough. The portion sizes are generous. My friend’s wild wild mac was enormous. We all had tons of leftovers. At the end of the meal came complementary brownies and those are worth every calorie.

This place has been on my radar for a while, but I think it is slightly overhyped. I bookmarked this place a while ago, but forgot about it until I heard about its placement on the Unilocal top 100. it’s number 52⁄100 in the whole US. so I decided to check it out. I came here on a Thursday night for dinner… and it was empty… like only 1 other table… was slightly confused… but not complaining… it was cold inside, so my boyfriend and I ended up sitting outside. The waitress was nice and gave some great suggestions. I ordered the Pilgrim burger medium well with onions, pickles, and bacon. it was delicious!!! I got the garlic chips, which were pretty good. Since it was our first time, the server said we get free brownies… but i failed to see that they were spicy… not expecting that… I like my chocolate brownies sweet not spicy! Would I come back??? Yea… it’s a good place for a burger fix and the service was nice!

«A gorgeous burger such as this only comes around once in a lifetime” – is your typical beginning of a puff piece hailing the burgers served here. However, that wouldn’t serve this place justice. Outlaws Café needs no exaggeration. Right from the very start, the staff welcomes you in as if they have adopted you into their family. They sit down with you to take your orders, and they sit down with you to explain how to eat the burgers. Heck, I wish they would have just eaten with us! I had the bandito, the little brother(half pound) of the famed outlaw burger, which was still quite a behemoth to finish. If you think you can conquer a pound of meat, then by all means go for the outlaw, but there’s no shame in giving your heart a break. The burger itself came with a huge knife stuck through the middle. The perfect kind to ward off hungry scavengers from across the table. Just kidding. One of our servers sat down and warned us not to cut the burger in half(or else they would cut us in half). Again, just kidding. Anyway, it had something to do with the different consistencies of the burger, so by eating your way into the middle from the outside, you get to experience different kinds of delicious bites. Or, the staff just loves to laugh at people trying to stuff a huge burger down their faces. After we got through the mounds of bacon and cheese and bountiful stuffed patty, they awarded us with some complimentary brownies. These brownies definitely packed that cayenne pepper. Not my favorite thing to put into a brownie, but I can’t complain since it was free! For the lovely service, the feeling of family, and burgers that pack a bunch, Outlaws Café delivers an unforgettable experience that will not disappoint.

You know when you have that really good friend, and you’re tryin’ to plan a really great birthday for them? Stuff is stressful. Like, are they gonna enjoy this? I know I would, but will THEY? It’s kind of a lot of pressure. Isn’t that funny? When we’re planning something special and fun like a date or a vacation or a friend’s birthday, we get the most stressed out. Yeah well, that wasn’t me. I was in control, baby. I threw up Unilocal and opened like 20 tabs of potential destinations and restaurants for my beloved roommate. Often success hinges on the restaurant you go to, so I knew I had to do some quick thinking. I knew I wanted to be in the San Fernando Valley area, so Outlaws stuck out to me with its incredibly high rating and sheer number of reviews. I was delighted, therefore, when I presented my friend with the five best options I chose and he actually chose Outlaws. So I got a group of us together, and we all made the trek to beautiful Van Nuys to get some delicious, delicious burgers. Firstly, PARKING. You’re gonna have to park on a side street or adjacent street. It wasn’t that hard at all. The only travesty was that my other friend put in a quarter into the meter, and the dumb thing ATEIT! We all cried a little before digging for more change, which it eventually accepted. Walking into the place, we were immediately struck by its coziness. It’s not small, per se, but it’s definitely a very home-like atmosphere – especially with the little kids(related to the employees, of course) playing video games on their iPads near the tiny waiting area. We got a seat immediately, and we all ordered pretty quickly. I thought it was nice how the server sat next to us. I’m a sucker for things like that. Anyways, two of my friends got the 1 pound BEHEMOTH Outlaw burgers. Let me tell you something: they are absolutely humongous. I opted for the smaller yet still large ½ lb Bandito burger. Basically, the burger had bacon, mushrooms, garlic, grilled onions, tomatoes, jalapeño bacon, and pepper jack cheese all sandwiched between some awesome pretzel buns. The thing was quite a beauty. We were instructed by another friendly employee that we shouldn’t cut the thing. Apparently, doing so ruins the experience; eating it from the outside in would release flavors incrementally – heck, even exponentially for you math lovers out there – just as they designed it. Plus, it’s kind of fun to get all messy. The patty was incredibly moist and tender and FLAVORFUL. The dressings were pretty amazingly complementary, and it was true that every bite was interesting and slightly different. The mixed chips with garlic and spicy seasoning were also a nice texture contrast; I personally would get the steak fries next time though because I prefer how much more hearty they are. All in all, I just gotta say that the burger is unlike any other I’ve eaten before. It’s just really ridiculously… ridiculous. I’m not kidding. I marveled at times saying, «That thing is as big as your head» and«You look so funny holding that!» It just made me laugh. It was really awesome. At the end, we got the complimentary cayenne pepper brownies as well. I personally enjoyed it because I thought it had a cinnamon flavor profile that made for an interesting sweet and spicy mixture, but I do know that some of my friends found it a bit too different to fully like(appreciation, however, was still abundant). Overall, my buddy had a fantastic birthday, and it’s because the food and incredibly friendly folks here made it possible. The best part? I didn’t screw up planning things! Whoop whoop! Well, I have some coming up…
