Pump It Up of Van Nuys

I hate to leave these types of reviews, but it’s unfortunate that the business owner doesn’t understand the concept of customer service, retention, referrals, etc…
To start out the food is way over priced, customer service is horrible, they over charge on the head count if you’re not paying attention, all they care about is to get your money and could care less if they ever see you again.
It’s in a terrible area of town, parking is very difficult, and would not recommend them to any friends or family, they lure you in with a smaller package price and nickel and dime you where you’re paying almost double what the package started out at. Do your research, and save your money, there are plenty of other places that are cleaner, cheaper and much better overall.
I would never return to this place even if I was invited to a friend’s party!

This place doesn’t allow outside food, the food they offer is overly priced!!! and not even good! There are Plenty of other places in the valley that have better customer service and allow you to bring your own food, save your money and go elsewhere.

I hosted my son’s 4^th Birthday party here and we were very pleased with the professional and helpful staff. This place is a blast for the kids! I highly recommend it! So while the pizza leaves much to be desired. .. you can’t beat the ease of the staff helping with everything and a room full of totally happy kids.

My son just turned 4 and he had his very first bday party here. I knew it would be fun because I had been to a party at the Torrance location. The Van Nuys location exceeded my expectations and was better than Torrance. I wasn’t expecting much as far as customer service but they nailed it. The service was awesome and my son and his friends had a blast… let me add that all of us adult parents had so much fun too! I even called last minute (like the night before after business hours) and left a message to make a change to my pizza order, the staff called me back early the morning of my party to confirm the change. They were all awesome and truly deserve the 5 stars. Thank you pump it up for making my boy’s very 1^st bday bash amazing!

First visited this place from bday party invite. My 7 yr old just loves this place. PARKING can be a bit challenging but overall love this place staff seems friendly.

No parking at all and none in the neighborhood, have to park blocks way with little kids. Staff no help at all when called to ask if they have any suggestions.
Once inside it is very larger, plenty of slides/​jumpers and room for kids to run around. Staff was confused at times but friendly. Place was clean, white socks don’t lie.
Overall good time but parking issues a major drawback.

Went to my favorite three-​year old’s birthday today at this location and had a blast. He party was two hours and started off in one room
of four bouncy houses and then continued in a glow room (where the lights are turned off and neon lights and trinkets are passed around to the kids). The lighting is enough in this room to see all the kids. Luckily, I wore my special neon yellow jeans so my legs served as basically two giant glow sticks. I was like a buoy in the sea of kids and crazy-​print carpet.
After the kids pooped themselves out of the bounce houses and slides and climbing walls (adults can play too!!), the kids were served pizza drinks and cakes.
I was very impressed by the staff. There was a young man who seemed to be in charge of the party and made sure everyone had what they needed. They were pretty seamless with the movement of the kids and they brought out all the presents and leftovers nicely packed to the birthday boy’s parents’ car. The parents were pleased with the party, too.
I would recommend this location for a kids party for kids ages 3 – 7 and for Peter Pan parents as well! fun spot!

Did the kids birthday here a week ago.
Took the highest package with a Minyan and light show.
Awesome staff, they prepped the food, plated the buffet and set the tables, cut the cake. Walked out relaxed with happy kids.

Terrible place!!! Very dirty!!! I saw a rat inside. Nothing else to say!!! When I approached the employees they didn’t do anything about it

What a blast! This is not just for kids, adults can jump and slide, too and let me tell you, it’s a good leg workout, not to mention the cardio benefits! And it’s FUN!
Attended a birthday party there today. Staff was very nice, party was organized and the place was clean. I saw them disinfect the tables after the kids finished eating. Gotta appreciate that!
I’d recommend this place and I’d go again, those slides jumping houses are calling my name!

Would give 5 stars but giving 4 stars due to the staff being on the rude side. The lady at the front desk didn’t seem helpful at all even though I said it was our first time there. The woman showing a couple the facility that planned to have a birthday there, was wearing a small top that showed her entire stomach! I don’t think that’s appropriate for an indoor playground with children around. I also would suggest during open play there should be someone supervising the room. Older and younger kids get mixed together and behavior issues arise especially when the lights get turned off. I really wish there were seperate rooms. One for bigger kids and the other for younger ones that are not so aggressive.
I DID enjoy the jumpers and carpet being very clean and having a clean restroom to use. 10 bucks is a nice price to pay as well for two rooms of play and two hours of play.

Wow I’m so glad I found this place. I was on my way to skyzone and drove past this place. I was curious so I pulled in and went inside. Ten dollars for two hours is a really good deal since skyzone is ten dollars for 30 min. Plus the bounce houses they have are so cool. My son had a blast!!! Really clean and the staff is friendly. Great for kids to burn out there energy.

My daughter loves this place. Great clean jumpers and open space for open play time. Can’t beat $ 10 for two hours of fun for kids to jump and release their energy. Nice clean environment and helpful staff. Best part is when they turn down the lights and everything glows in the dark!

This place is REALLY clean, which is 1) amazing and 2) rare and wonderful when dealing with the kidverse. Most of the time if I’m forced to go someplace that caters to my kids, I want to hose myself off afterwards and bathe in disinfectant. So, Pump It Up is already a hit with me.
I was just there for the free jump hours, which are fairly reasonable ($ 10 per kid for two hours) and you have access to the entire facility. The black light goes on minutes before the end of the jumping time, which is a nice way to wind things down (though next time I’ll make sure my kids wear white, because they wanted to leave a little early and man, I could have left with any kids and not been entirely sure who I had until I hit the parking lot).
I think the owner may be missing an opportunity to upsell/​promote here, in that the staff just takes your money and ushers you in for free jump, as they assume (correctly) most people have been to at least one party at Pump It Up before. That’s fine, but I hadn’t, and I learned so much just reading the Unilocal reviews. It would be great to get a flyer as I enter telling me about deals, rules, etc., as I’m thinking this would be a great party location, even if the pizza isn’t great (according to one of the other reviews). I also had no idea there were three rooms (which was a great surprise to have, really) and stumbled around for a while. But really glad this place is here!

What a great concept — my twins went to a birthday party here and bounced and slid. Apparently, they have three rooms full of bouncy houses, though we only stayed in one. It got better. They turned off the lights and everything glowed (under the black light). Even better. Adults can jump along with their kids, and this made me think someday to have an adult jumping party. Then 45 minutes to eat in a side room with pizza provided by the venue. I’ll give them an extra star if having our own party there (and dealing with their staff directly) is as fun as going to someone else’s party. On average, renting kids bday venues cost 400 – 500 dollars in the LA area. It’s a lot of money and I wish the LA market didn’t drive this up so much.

The staff is terrible, hosted my 8^th sons party here cause i heard good reviews and had went to the Torrance one many times. However, the customer service alone downplayed my entire experience. We had this indian looking staff member named melakow who was awful. My husband and I went into the parking lot to unload more stuff into the party and he didnt let us bring it in! Apparently there is an additional fee if you want to bring food inside your OWN party… Despite that, the boy was smoking during his shift taking out the trash! Also, this is pump it up Van Nuys so its not mistaken for the one in torrence. The owner is not so friendly either…
Would recommend the drive to Torrance to avoid the staff.

Had my daughters 3^rd Birthday party here. Guests of all ages had a fabulous time. Olaf was our surprise guest for the birthday girl. The first hassle free kid party I’ve had & was able to enjoy myself with my family & most importantly the birthday girl had a blast with all her attendees! It was above all the best party we’ve had so far. Going to be difficult to top this one next year. We may just have to have a repeat at Pump It Up! A million thanks to the staff. I highly recommend this place. (And I am a picky first time Mom)

Great place to have a kids bday party!!! My son loved having his 5^th bday here! Private party the entire time, super clean, well organized and nice staff. Would definitely recommend!

My Son LOVED IT! I work around the corner from there and never knew it even existed. Went there for the first time a week ago for a birthday party. My 4 year old son had a great time. Very Clean. Many jumpers and different types. Jumpers, slides, obstacle ones. They were all different It was great that it was private. They moved the party along to different sections, which was great.
Everyone was very nice and attentive.

I am NOT a big fan of this place! We attended a kid’s party here and stayed outside in the parking area for most of it.
Pros:
Plenty of places to bounce.
Cons:
The music was turned up way too loud! My kids complained the entire time and preferred to wait in the parking lot instead of jump (this is very rare!).
The food for the party was served way too late for a kid’s party.
The eating area was way too small to fit all of the attendants of the party! Most people were standing around in a cramp space!
The parking area is limited!
The eating area floor was disgustingly dirty!
This was my first experience at a Pump it up and probably my last.
