I have been to this taco spot a handful of times in the past year and I can’t say that I ever walked away thinking«that was good». I usually get right onto whatever else I have to do as this is a last minute resort to eating whatever else on this block when having to spend time here. I wouldn’t dare try anything fancy as the basic tacos are missing some basic taco magic. It’s really all in the meat and sauce but this place doesn’t have anything good like that to offer. Barely edible but not worth the visit. It’s really a last ditch effort at food. Don’t bother.

First time i ever been here and as soon as you walk in you notice the place could be a litter bit cleaner and neat but we felt like some tacos so i tried one lengua one asada and a tripa and one bite wasn’t better than the next i didn’t even eat them all i just threw them away. It got me sick to my stomach and been hugging the toilet all day. Will i go thete again? No. Do i recommend it? Not at all

Came by here as the other place I was going to try wasn’t open yet. All I had was the chorizo and egg burrito. It was good, but I have had better.

This place is just not what it used to be :-( I also noticed I never reviewed it. It used to be pretty good to get some Mexican food not too far away from us. But things have changed. Whole new management here and a change for the worse. It’s just ok food but its way overpriced. Small Portions when you compare to what it use to be. Before the prices was a lot less and much bigger amounts of food and friendly English and Spanish speaking workers. Currently the people there can only speak Spanish ! There is nothing wrong with speaking spanish it just it is the US and most speak English so it helps out a lot for those who cant speak spanish to have a staff that can. And if they can speak both that is really great! but the need atleast speak English

Welcoming and friendly. The signs are all in spanish, but the main menu has numbers and pictures. The cashier spoke English well. The tacos were okay, it’s my first authentic mexican food, I’m an east coast native. But the Burritos are amazing. Best burrito I’ve ever had. The rice and beans were acceptable. I wish they gave you more chips. Bottom line, the price is very reasonable and the quality is great depending what you order.

I freaking love this place. The meat here(I’ve only had the carne asada and pollo, mind you) is fantastic. Prices are reasonable. I always feel like they undercharged me when I take a look at my receipt– that’s how cheap it is. Seriously, you must try this place.

Since my last review, I have tried the Torta asada. Tortas are great Mexican sandwiches, but I would suggest going light on the mayo(tortas usually are slatherred in mayo). This torta was great for $ 5. I should also mention that this is CASHONLY! However there is an ATM. Also hooray for the friendly happy cashier/manger gentleman? He is extremely friendly and although his English is not that great and my Spanish is even worse, you can tell he is having a great time.

My meal from Tacos Sabor Jalisco(hereafter referred to as TSJ) tonight was very tasty! Had 8 tacos de carne asada and I waddled away totally stuffed. When I lived in Echo Park seven years ago I used to get $ 0.50 tacos all the time, so I’m kind of a snob when I see tacos for over a buck. TSJ charges $ 1.16/taco. Tacos Mexico(Van Nuys /Sherman Way) charges about $ 1.08. So the times have changed. But TSJ was very generous with the meat, so no complaints from me, and they garnished the plate with a few tortilla chips unlike some other taqueiras. Other notes: The parking lot is pretty cramped, it took a little longer than expected for my meal to be prepared, and CASHONLY! That corner of Vanowen and Sepulveda is pretty shady. It’s right next to a liquor store /check cashing facility, which, as you will observe, has a fair share of dubious examples of good citizenship milling about suspiciously.

Ohhhhh Myyyyy GUNESSSSSS!!! These carne asada tacos are the best i’ve had so far 8)) I always order my tacos(3 – 4) with just cilantro and onions… and then I ask for 2 – 3 salsa verde sauces. They use 2 corn tortillas and the meat is just falling out of the tacos… simply divine. I love the taste of the meat… I added a picture of these tacos so you can see how good they look. For 4 tacos… it cost $ 5.04 I want to try a burrito sometime soon… The place is always busy… and they have all kinds of different things to choose from Their are 2 very nice young ladys who run the register depending on when you go… they’ll hook you up with some GOOD food… so PLEASE… check em out The carne asada meat can’t be beat!!!

Tacos Sabor Jalisco taunts me every week I turn the corner to go to work across the street from this place. I wish they would open for breakfast. I wouldn’t mind having some of their carne asada tacos for breakfast. I had a carne asada taco and carne asada burrito and I walked back to work happy. I haven’t tried the other meats yet, but the carne asada is tasty. It can be intimidating if you don’t know Spanish, but just try it, it’s worth it. Yes, my face was red when I realized they had been calling my number for 5 minutes and I hadn’t responded until the guy asked me what I ordered. And I thought I knew my Spanish numbers. Doh! The red salsa was good too.
