AAMCO Transmissions

I had set up an appointment to get the brakes checked out on my Class A motorhome and was told by Good Sam Auto & RV extended service plan that this is the place to get that done. 1^st thing is Appointments don’t matter to theses people (appt. was at 1PM and they didn’t even get started until 2:30PM) and after they finally did their checking I was told that after visually inspecting my brakes I was right on the cusp of seriously needing pads and that the brakes were wearing unevenly so that more than likely I’ll need to have new drums as well because and they didn’t know if they could be turned or not due to the uneven wearing. But before they can give me an estimate they need to pull everything off the axels to give a complete breakdown of what it will cost. Labor to do this according to them was 6 hours per axel. I said no thanks and took my motorhome to Northside Ford Trucks in Portland where after their inspection I was told that my break pads look almost like new and are in great shape with no uneven wear at all and the drums are in really great shape with at least ¾ in left on them and the rest of the brake components are in good working order. Northside didn’t charge me anything to completely check out all of my break system. Plus they sent out one of my tires to check on a slow leak that was happening and the Goodyear tire store that sent it to replaced the leaking valve stem at no charge either.

What an amazing experience with AAMCO over on 117^th Avenue in Vancouver! It can bedebilitating to have your vehicle not working properly & we all need to be able to get around. As much as I am on the road… I need to ensure for the safety of myself and others, maintenance is crucial. I have needed work on my SUV a good amount of times to date. No other facility has satisfied my expectations like the magician… as I like to call her, Nicole Cadell & her team of mechanics. Pricing was amazing, my timeline for completion was met as they could handle any unexpected task or delivery of parts, etc. Thank-​you for restoring my faith in a car maintenance facility.

Had trouble with my car so I stopped by this place as they do free diagnosis. I was a walk in. Jim the counter guy was helpful. Very busy guy. Probably needed another counter person. It took about an hour or so and I had the answers to what was wrong. Unfortunately their prices are very high so I had to go with someone else for repairs but they were very helpful.

Horrible service. I saw on Unilocal that this Aamco does emissions testing, so I went in. I waited… waited…waited…shouted «HELLO!»…waited…waited. just when I decided to call them from within their lobby, a guy goes walking past. I ask if they do smog tests. He says no. I ask where I can get that done. With a fake smile and a condescending tone, he says, «Well, I’d go the the Emissions Testing Center.» $@#& you, Aamco dude!
