Went there today with 2 other friends… I love the siagon roll and my friend and I brought a new friend with us to eat there. We called in our order to go and arrived before it was done. My friend had ordered a siagon roll WITHOUT chicken, so basically a veggie salad roll. It was 8.50 with chicken or without chicken so when we got there and realized it was VERY expensive to get basically a salad roll WITHOUT meat we asked if we can have the chicken put on the side since she was paying for the chicken anyways and then her 2 year old daughter who was with us can eat it… and the owner said, «no its too much work, I can’t do that.» I could not believe what he was saying. I told him, «she paid for chicken, she even tipped you for her food to go, She paid 9.50 for it and you cant even put the chicken in the package with the veggie roll on the side that she paid for?» He said sternly, «it is too much work!» It would have literally took 30 seconds to pick up a piece of chicken and put in the container. I found the owner to be rude, cold, cheap, GREEDY, and plain olé LAZY. I was embarrassed to have brought my friend there and now all three of us are disgusted with this place. He needs to get a clue that good service goes along with cooking food if you want your business to do well.

One of my favorite places to eat at! My family has been going here for 15 years and we will continue to go here. The owners are fantastic people that care about what they do. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is nice. Very healthy, simple, rich with flavor dishes.

Great food! I have had both the Phở and the Teriyaki Chicken. Delicious. The restaurant is clean, service is consistent, food fresh, prices reasonable. I think I could eat here everyday!

Americanized Vietnamese food. Chicken phở: decent. It’s good for hangover food but not your everyday place to eat. Gives generous bits of chicken but the broth tastes like straight up concentrated chicken broth, too salty. Chicken spring rolls: mostly cabbage and lettuce. The cabbage is bitter so it was not refreshing to me. It’s really full meaning they pack the spring rolls really tightly, but once again it’s just a spring roll with cabbage and 2 – 3 bits of grilled chicken.

$ 8 for springrolls with only 4 small pieces… I feel it a bit pricey for me. My brother ordered a special Phở and he expected at least a slice of rare beef in his bowl, but he was so disappointed no rare beef, just few piece of flank meat. After spending 20 hours drive from CA, we were so hungry but still couldn’t finish our orders. I’m so sorry but the owner should check your recipes and ingredients. I gave you 1 star for a nice decorated interior.

Wow! I needed something quick and healthy and saw this place near the Fred Meyer. The customer service here is so friendly, helpful & thoughtful as well! The plates are made with so much care. And there are beautiful roses on all of the tables! It’s close to lunch and I was able to get in and out easily. Definite favorite future place! :-)

Over cooked noodle and no veggies and a little chicken. Worst Chinese food I have ever had.

It may not look like much from it’s location, but once you’re inside you’ll be pleasantly surprised. This place is quant, but more importantly, it has delicious, fresh food! The service is kind of slow, but it is entirely worth it because that just means they’re making the food from scratch.

DH and I used to love this place, and came all the time. The amount of fare for vegetarians was good and there were several offerings for that. Often we would order an extra dish alongside the normal fare(one dish each, one appetizer). My husband’s metabolism is through the roof due to both his genes and his extremely labor-intensive job. I have had the hardest time getting food to stick to this trim man’s ribs. We quit going here because after(yes, read: after) we paid/gave them our money and the cooks were preparing our order, the owner strolled over to our table and criticized us for ordering«so much food». «Just for the two of you?» he said incredulously. «That’s a lot of food to order for just two people…» He stood there awkwardly while we stared in shock and DH summoned the words to say he’d have no problem with the amount. The owner muttered a disbelieving, «Okay,» and walked away. This was no joke, he was entirely serious. It is no one’s business to question how much we order, period. It is their business to provide services for payment, not judgments on the services they offer that have been requested. We had already paid and the order was already cooking as well, so I cannot even imagine what would possess someone running a business to question a customer’s decision period, let alone after taking their money. It is just horribly unprofessional(not to mention rude) all around. Metabolism aside, if we want to order several dishes and take any to go, that should make no difference to a professional. In actuality, they should have been HAPPY to continue taking our money while treating us with politeness. The attitude we continued to get from him that day was appalling. The rest of our food no longer tasted good after being put on the defensive by him. We never went back, and we have not brought in all the extra business from recommendations like we had planned.

It’s nice when a family run small restaurant actually makes it. This place has been in the Salmon Creek area for many years and they definitely deserve it. The food is always fresh and hot and the service is always excellent. The restaurant is clean. Even on a busy night, the staff always makes sure the tables are clean for new arrivals. Over the years, the menu has grown and now it’s gone away from the numbered combo type meal to a pick as you go style. I liked the former better but the food is so good that it’s still a must try. The chicken teriyaki is very good. The sauce is not overly sweet — the sweetness is actually only a hint, it’s much more flavorful than your typical teriyaki. The freshness of the ingredients cannot be outdone.

Bamboo Hut is a staple! If you want fast, healthy and delicious food I cannot recommend a better place in Vancouver. My favorites are their shrimp salad rolls(with the best peanut sauce) and their chicken teriyaki. Their teriyaki yakisoba is also great! The staff are lovely and really attentive.

A bowl of Chicken Phở was Chicken Fail while the Saigon Rolls were just Sigh Rolls. Anyone that eats Vietnamese Phở and food on a regular basis has surely had better and cheaper than this. The main reason to come here would be for convenience if you are in the Salmon Creek area. Otherwise, I can’t recommend traveling any greater distance for Bamboo Hut. A plate of 4 Saigon Rolls is $ 7.75. It’s a fairly average blend of Chicken, Veggies, Peanuts, and Hoisin Sauce wrapped in Rice Paper. As with most rolls a real difference maker can be the dipping sauce, but neither sauce offered had much distinction. Sigh(2 stars) For $ 8.95, the bowl of Phở was a thin traditional Vietnamese broth loaded with Green Onions and surprisingly dry chunks of Chicken. How can something floating in a warm bowl of water be so desiccated? Fail(2 stars). As you can see, Bamboo Hut food is in the«Meh» category, but a bonus +1 star is earned for some friendly service. The guy at the order counter was gruff(& busy), but, at the tables, a lady and younger guy seemed to really go out of their way to try. If you’re at the Fred Meyer next door or simply in the area, you might consider Bamboo Hut when you are famished or lazy. If you do go, I don’t recommend the Phở or Rolls.

I had the chicken pad Thai combo with a salad roll, it was ok. Chicken was a little dry and the salad roll was probably one of the worst ones I’ve had… Not bad but not good either. The noodles themselves we good though. I would come again maybe try the phở instead. The peanut sauce was strange didn’t have good consistencey. The service was good and place was clean and not to busy. An ok experience

Stopped by for lunch today. It was around 1:30 pm. Service was great. Overall clean, although several tables had dirty dishes still on them. The food: I had a simple teriyaki chicken with yakisoba noodles. Very little chicken. Not many noodles and the bitter taste of burnt garlic. I was not impressed. Price was a bit high for what you received. 8″ square plate and not even 30% of plate used. I’m still kinda hungry. The garnish was lovely though.

Wow. Another Unilocal miracle. I was tempted to give this place five stars, but I reserve that for life-changing food experiences. That said, don’t let Bamboo Hut’s façade fool you. It almost looks like a chain restaurant from the outside, but once you get inside you’ll feel right at home. It appeared to be a husband/wife team manning the grill, and the husband was very pleasant. He recommended chicken teriyaki, so I tried that with Yakisoba noodles and added veggies along with a salad roll. I’ve never had a salad roll before, man was it tasty. The sauce served with it is full of flavor, and the roll is crisp, light and refreshing. A perfect appetizer. Then the noodles, amazing noodles. Delicious, not too greasy, just perfect. But what really stood out to me was the freshness of the vegetables and the chicken, which was cooked perfectly and flavorful without being too salty — my usual complaint about teriyaki dishes. What are you waiting for? Check this place out! Reasonably priced, fresh, delicious food.

I have been in here twice; both times for Phở. As phar as I can phigure, this is the only place in Salmon Creek or Hazel Dell that serves Phở. While I don’t consider myselph an expert(or even very well– inphormed) about Phở, I am quite phond of their vegan version. Phar be it phor the likes of I to claim phabulousness or even acceptable their phare. I phigure this is probably the only place around here you can phlock to if Phở is what you crave.
