Fantastic find with amazing food. Halibut sandwich and clam chowder was wonderful. Service was great.

Let me start with the positive, which if it weren’t for the negative, it would be 5 stars. This place has a great beer selection on tap, and the food tastes amazing! I love both of those as well as how clean it is and the location. The inside is very nice as well. Now, on to the bad. Having a live bad(99% of the time it’s 40 year old dudes doing ACDC covers) ALMOSTEVERYSINGLENIGHT ruins the experience. I have walked in and right out multiple times because of this. I have no problem with music being once or twice a week, but with bands and open mic nights, this bar just gets ruined for me. The music is too loud, there isn’t happy hour when there are bands, which is literally every night from 9 till close, and honestly, there is only a few staff who are friendly. I have been meet with multiple servers and bartenders with poor service and attitudes and this is a majority. Not everyone mind you, but most. Unfortunately, this would be a bar among my top favorites, but there is just too much wrong with it… Sorry guys, try again.

We came across this place by accident while visiting from Seattle and am glad we did. Live music was very entertaining and the volume wasn’t at such a level you couldn’t converse. Service was exceptional and the bartender actually engaged in legit conversation with us(we sat at bar) which was a treat as the bar was busy. Food was hot, fast and tasted good. Definitely a stop worth making and when we return to Vancouver rest assured we will stop in again.

Great local bar. Good food and great owners. Love that there’s always bands playing on the weekends! We love our favorite waitress Amanda too!!! Hubby loves the prime rib!

Sunday 1÷17÷20161:00 pm ZEROSTARS!!! Ordered 2 prime rib dips to go, $ 14 each. Got them home and they were the worst sandwiches ever! What they actually were was a greasy grilled cheese sandwich with a very small amount of left over CRUMBS of prime rib. Not one slice of prime rib! Couldn’t even eat half of the sandwich it was SO awful and greasy. Seriously greasy! Have been there for a nice prime rib dinner so it was quite a disappointment. Won’t go back.

There are a few things that are sacred to me. Football, Sunday Fundays, kick ass brunch, straight up cocktails to name a few. Billy Blues serves that up for me mighty fine. Football? Check. Good food? Absolutely. Straight up cocktails? I’ve stumbled out of here more than I would like to admit. All these make for a super Sunday funday. Lots of tvs, good food(I haven’t had one thing I didn’t like) and the service is on point.

Spent a breakfast here last year and new years eve. Truly this is a sleeper. The outside is reminiscent of a tavern but in-house is old style service and good eats. It’s busy so don’t expect McDonald’s time. Worth the wait. Made reservations for Valentine’s! Book in advance

Pretty darn great! Food was good, had the clam chowder, and the rib eye steak. Beer was good and cold, whiskey flowed like water… The ONLY thing I would change was the direction I was sitting, lol. Curtis Salgado playing and my back was to him!

Lunch time. Less than 10 tables. Service so freaking slow. Had to flag down server and ask if we could please order. It annoys me to no end that all the servers are dressed however they seem comfortable for the day. Yoga pants and t-shirt? Sure! Jeans and hoodie? Why not! There is no way to tell who works here or who is wandering around looking for their server. This review is based on 3 visits in the last month. I never review based on 1 time because I get that everyone has an off day/night. But c’mon, step up your game and make your servers be aware of new guests(seat yourself) and please pick whatever form of uniform you want so we know who to approach after waiting 15+ minutes to place an order /spend money at your establishment. Food was fine but the wait for the amount of tables was not ok.

Billy Blues used to be our go-to spot on Friday nights. The food is excellent. They have a HUGE menu and pretty much everything I’ve ever ordered has been GREAT! The downside of Billy Blues are the prices. Food and drinks are very spendy. I think the food is worth it, but I can’t justify coming here for a few rounds of drinks with friends because of the sky-high bar tabs. Also, watch your receipt at the end of the evening, because they tend to add a drink or two to your total and hope you don’t notice. It’s happened within my group of friends multiple times, so I can’t imagine that it’s just a mistake. They always correct it when we tell them, but they never really seem surprised or apologetic. I still give Billy Blues 3 stars because the food is that good.

This place is a bit of a treasure for Vancouver. All the food I tried was great! The fettuccine is good. Bacon mushroom swiss burger had great flavor. Chicken enchiladas were on point! Definitely Tex-Mex style but I loved the contrast of creamy, cheesy chicken on the inside, covered with a chilli-esque sauce and more cheese that was great for dipping the accompanying tortilla chips. They were able to accommodate my giant family’s group of 17, granted it was on a random Wednesday night, so maybe not as busy as a weekend. Live music was cool! The kids were digging it and there were some people out on the dance floor. Some interesting cocktails. I definitely plan on going there again, especially if I’m not looking to have to go into Portland for drinks and good food in the same venue.

Drink the blues and your liver away at Billy Blues Bar & Grill thanks to live music, a lively crowd, and lifeless food … that’ll make you want to drink more … much more. This is the kind of local bar you and your liver need to toast the rhythm of life in Vancouver, Washington … specifically, Hazel Dell, y’all. Draft beers were the liquid poison of choice for Olivia Z. and me. Hey IPA, whadda ya say? How about another round over here? The Chicken Dinner with Mashed Potatoes, Corn, and Soup was Olivia’s dinner choice. We wouldn’t choose it again because of the re-heated frozen chicken pieces, but I kind of liked the chunky taters. With country rock blaring from the stage and a beer in hand, I went with Billy Blues Jumbo Burger with Fried Egg, Ham, Cheese, and Bacon with a side of Jumbo Onion Rings … good-bye Blues; hello Lipitor. It really was a-ok. Billy Blues is an a-ok bar for the Hazel Dell neighborhood. Don’t come here for the lifeless food, but do come for the live music, lively crowd, and desire for you and your liver to drink away the blues.

New servers are not kind or efficient. Misses Dea. Food was cold. Servers got hostile after looking for a resolution to all our food being cold. Long wait with a Not attentive wait staff . Will not be returning.

I came here about ten years ago, when it was called something else and I remembered it being good so I figured I would try it again. Came into the bar about 11:20PM and wasn’t sure when their kitchen closed. I asked if their kitchen was open and they said yes. Got a seat, ordered a beer and looked at the menu. I asked the waitress what was better the cowboy burger or the patty melt she suggested the cowboy burger so I got it. My friend got the Reuben sandwich. About 2 minutes after we got our food the waitress told me that last call was a few minutes ago, yet no one heard it. She asked if we wanted another drink. Why not? So now two beers on the table and my sandwich. She gives us the check because they close soon, kind of quick but whatever. 11:50ish. Finish my sandwich, first beer gone. I get told by a different waitress that I have two minutes to finish my beer before they take it from me. About 20 seconds later my waitress tells me that she has to take my drinks. I told her the other waitress told me I had two minutes, she looked at the time and said«oh yah you do have two minutes. I’m just doing what I’m told.» Whatever that means. So needless to say I drank the beer like I was 21 again then sat there for a minute. My friend hasn’t finished his sandwich yet.(I eat really fast anyways). Finishes his beer too. Then his sandwich, and we aren’t done even 30 seconds and they announce that everyone that isn’t with the band has to leave. The waitress tells us that she doesn’t usually rush people out but that she just does what she’s told. What the hell kind of hierarchy is going on here? So we were kind of like«WTF?» We were probably the only ones drinking and eating and they kicked us out? Apparently the big group of people with the band was just camping out. I will say, the food was pretty good, but everything else about it sucked a**. Waitress was as friendly as could be when they take your money and run.

I would love to give more stars as my past few times here have been much better than my experience today. The only reason for 3 stars is the food. We were accommodated so that we could watch the various football games we wanted to watch yet the customer service ended there. Once our orders were taken we were seemingly forgotten. It took over 40 minutes to get out food. Once it arrives it was accompanied by an insincere apology and no asking if we needed anything else. We’ve now finished and had our plates cleared yet have not been checked on. It seems they are attempting to prep our area for a large reservation yet we have yet to be asked how we are doing or if we need anything. I do. I need more OJ to go with my remaining champagne for my mimosa. We have honestly contemplated getting up and leaving. The waitress attending the tables near us has been a hundred times more attentive to her tables. We have no idea where our waitress went. It’s busy yet not busy enough to excuse this poor of service. I will be finding another brunch spot to watch Sunday early games. *So we approached the manager and communicated we hadn’t paid our bill and hadn’t been attended to our entire time. We were forced out of our seats by our Celebration of Life as well. The manager was upset and immediately corrected the situation by reseating us and ordering us another round on the house. Apparently the waitress that was supposed to be ours had never been informed we were her table. The waitress that took our order never told her. The waitress that should have been ours was phenomenal with all the other tables so I know she would have provided excellent service had she known we were her table. She apologized yet the woman that messed up never did. Hope she had some retraining. The food and atmosphere are too good too not want to come back.

Nothing fancy, but good. I usually have the prime rib dip sandwich with the tots. I’ve had it 4 times now. Very tasty and the kind of sandwich you be wanting to have again :) I like their chowder as well. I’ve had their prime rib once and enjoyed that.

I had drinks and french fries at the bar before my friend arrived for dinner and while the bartender was a little slow, he was a-1 with the drinks. They were top notch. The cajun french fries were piping hot and nicely crispy. The ranch wasn’t great(nor was the blue cheese with my dinner salad) as both were your average bottled fare. The place was a bit crowded and noisy considering I arrived in the early-mid afternoon but it was St. Patricks Day so that could have been the problem. I’d try again on a day that wasn’t a drinking holiday. I like my dive bars a little quieter. Funny thing is, they had a jukebox going but it was barely intelligible where I was sitting at the end of the bar by the pool tables but ten feet away at some tables could be heard quite clearly. The jukebox is one of the newfangled ones and was very very pricy. 1 two-credit song for a buck. I love controlling jukeboxes and I love to play pool so that plus excellent drinks will make me want to pour money into a jukebox but this one was a little too expensive. Dinner was okay. My friend loved his(chicken fried steak); I had the same and thought it was just okay. Everything was very fresh and very recently cooked — nothing sat on that line. It was just a little bland to me. The waitresses were extraordinarily friendly — mine even remembered me calling earlier that day to inquire if they had my beloved Myers. Nice touch. I’d definitely come back and give it another go. Might even pour some money into the jukebox anyways ;)

The breakfast is really the highlight for me. It’s simple, but delicious. It seems like it might be a fun place to have a beer, or cocktail, but I haven’t been here for that yet. I did have dinner here once a couple of years ago, and that was also delicious. The service is always friendly, and the food comes out promptly.
