New fave place in the great spreading city of Vancouver! Love love love everything we had(5 diff appetizers) the drinks and beer/wine selection is distinguished. Service was perfect and atmosphere delightful. Can’t wait to come back and I don’t give a lot of 5 star reviews! :)

We had the kalettes and Brussel sprouts appetizer, bacon wrapped jalapeños, chimichurri steak and smothered fries. ALLDELICIOUS! I cannot wait to go back!!! Everything tastes so fresh and good ingredients The smothered fries were a bit on the salty side but other than that, no issues.

Good drinks and food, not too expensive, and cool waitstaff. We ordered a few small plates, the Fried Green Tomatoes were awesome and the bacon jalapeños were super tasty. I’d definitely recommend this place to friends.

This is a cool local bar. The food is very good and reasonably priced; service is great and they’ve got a very nice beer selection and some excellent cocktail choices. We tried most of the appetizers and the fried oysters stood out for me. The wings were also pretty good. Several of us had burgers and there were no complaints there! Overall, good menu, reasonable prices and excellent service.

Walked in based on Unilocal reviews. Food is out of this world. Had the chicken and dumplings I had the portabella mushroom Reuben was excellent and the clam chowder is superb. Beer selection is great we will definitely come back. So glad we found this place

I went here on a whim one evening with my wife just after happy hour ended. Not totally sure what to expect, I started salivating at the menu, I like comfort food. We started with a moscow mule, their house margarita and bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers to start. The wife wanted to order tapas style, she ended up getting the sausage poppers and corn quesadilla. The drinks were well made albeit Portland priced drinks. The jalapeño poppers were good, we love bacon, but the jalapenos themselves were not spicy, so it fell flat a little. The sausage poppers are literally corn dogs, with mediocre uninspired sausage, disappointing. The quesadilla was good, it went well together, I feel it was the best thing we had during our meal. I went for one of their larger plates, I always like a good burger and this seemed like the spot to get one. I was wrong, the patty was burnt, was very disappointing. Near the end of our meal there was a man on one of the couches just leering, and he kept leering at our table — awkward, we were over it.

While this place is located just off a busy street in Vancouver, it’s hidden in plain sight in an uninviting building. However, the interior proved to be a pleasant surprise, and I was quickly and politely greeted and grabbed a table. Service was fast and friendly, and my server check in on me several times. I ordered the burger, advertised as ½ pound, and I was pretty disappointed I get that it is precooked weight, but come on…). Otherwise the burger was hot and tasty. The fries come with season salt, and they were covered(take my word for it — order them plain). My coworker ordered the split pea and ham soups and the wedge salad. Presentation was awesome, and he was happy. Understanding that it was a chilly and wet afternoon, the place was freezing. It couldn’t have been warmer than 60 degrees, so plan accordingly. They appeared to have a decent selection of beer and spirits, and I’ll definitely go back.

We got there right before Happy Hour ended, I’m so glad we didn’t miss it(ends at 6pm) food plates are $ 2 off and drafts/wells are reasonably priced. We had great service with a smile, food came out quickly. The old fashion looked good, and the chicken and dumplings are legit! The dumplings are puffy, the sauce isn’t too thick or salty. We will be back for sure.

The food: I got the wings which were awesome! Deep fried non breaded(thank god) and then finished on the grill. Not overly sauced which is huge in my book. Very flavorful The next thing I got was the burger. Add bacon and cheese for an additional $ 3(bit outrageous). I usually order a burger of some sort to judge a pub/restaurant. What I mean specifically is burger temp. I ordered it medium rare and unfortunately it came out medium well. It was good but again not medium rare as asked for; I would have taken a nice medium. The beer: I wanted the stout on nitro but the system was down so settled for something else on tap. I was hoping for a seasonal selection; something that says fall but that wasn’t happening Very happy with the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. Will definitely be back in the near future! Boom! This place is awesome! Everything tastes good and is high quality. I would have given a 5 star but if the owner isn’t cooking it’s not 100% consistent(it’s still good, just sometimes missing the love). The staff is always wonderful and the spicy margarita is one of a kind with crushed chili pepper mixed in with the salt. We love it so much here we go almost every Friday and sometimes in between.. . Awww screw it I’m giving them a 5

I’m pretty bummed out in our experience at Frontier House last night. When I left my original review, I didn’t mention that service was slow, although excellent. I chalked it up to growing pains and remembered how delicious the food was, so decided to give it another shot. My husband and I don’t go out to dinner much and it was also my birthday… so it was a special night. That being said, it’s a bummer when your experience is memorable for all the wrong reasons. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 kids and had previously made reservations that I confirmed the day before. We sat down and waited a decent amount of time simply to get our drink orders taken. My mom tried to order her food and the waitress said«I’m just getting drink orders, sorry!» However, we were all ready to order food since we had been waiting. It took 10 – 15 minutes just to get our sodas and two alcoholic beverages. She dropped off our drink orders and came back five minutes later… which really isn’t long in the big picture, but when you’re starving and desperate just to put in an order for food… it felt like years. We ordered appetizers and food at the same time. Apps came out about 25 minutes later. At this point we were wondering what was taking so long. The kids were getting restless because they were so hungry. WE were getting restless! However, the apps held us over until the next 25 minutes that our food came out. A couple of us had some colder food which led us to believe it had been sitting for a while. My other issue is that I ordered a «prime rib» sandwich that was on a hoagie roll and was pretty much a Philly cheese steak for $ 13 which is overpriced IMO. I guess I expected something different Don’t get me wrong, our waitress was great and VERY sweet. However, there is quite obviously a staffing issue here… they simply couldn’t keep up. I’m bummed our that my birthday dinner wasn’t so great and everybody was flustered. When all was said & done, we were there literally over 2 hours which was spent mostly waiting. I’m not sure if I’d be willing to go back here anytime soon unless I hear they’ve corrected the issue, which is too bad since I live nearby!

Been here 4 or 5 times now and each time the food has been cooked really nicely and has lots of flavor. Last night, however, cemented this as a place will keep on our weekly rotation. Here’s why: we came in for dessert and not only had a great brownie sundae and bread pudding(two desserts that are often awful and needing the ice cream to undo the dry flavorless baked portion), but they had two of our FAV beers on tap: Mazama Grand Cru and the Chocolate Shake Porter by Boulder Beer(on nitro). Not only that, but the atmosphere is one that lends itself to an intimate date night as well as just grabbing drinks after work. It’s classy and casual. It’s allows my husband and I to have«adult time» and yet bring our daughter if we need to(she’s a teen, and most«family» places are obnoxiously loud from screaming children — but not here!) The only thing that has been«iffy» once or twice was service, but it was fine, but mind-blowingly good.

I was in the area on a business trip and my friend brought me here for some late night drinks.(Late night in this town is like 10pm) anyways, so, I pulled into the parking lot and I’m like, «oh HELL no» it kinda has that «You sure have a pretty mouth» vibe to it. The truth tho, it’s really nice on the inside. very modern décor, nice lighting and what not. The service was very perky and attentive. The Buffalo Chicken Wings… not very good and I was starving. Heavy, over sauced, chicken has seen better days. Had a couple of Local beers It was closing so we left… right before we were to get kicked out.(Helpful tip… when they start to turn the music and lights out, that’s my cue). I might return, giving the same scenario or just to freak out my friends with the deliverance exterior vibe. Remember, Please don’t drink and play guitar.

Frontier house has a rather uninviting exterior, but a nice, warm, dimly lit interior. It was fairly empty on a Thursday night(about 10 people), so we sat whenever we wanted. Both my husband and I had different drink menus(with different selections and alcohol percentages) which seemed to be a problem with the menus strewn about the bar. After figuring out what the correct one was, we were still underwhelmed with the beer selection. Of the 6 or so beers on tap, there were only 2 worth drinking, one of which they were out of(a nitro stout). We eventually settled on an IPA and a cider. Since the place was pretty empty and we were sitting right next to the bar, I expected our drinks in just a few minutes, but instead both bartender and waitress were off doing something else for 10 – 15 minutes. When we finally got our drinks, both were short pours. For food, we ordered the Frontier Burger with bacon wrapped jalapenos and the smoked salmon BLT. The BLT was ok, but felt lacking in some kind of sauce or flavor and it hardly tasted smoked. The burger was more well done than I would’ve liked, and though it was decent, the jalapeño tasted like a bell pepper. Both came with fries, and they were a bit on the soggier side. Both dishes were pricey for what they were even if they were cooked and flavored correctly. I like the feel of the interior, but with the poor beer selection, slow service, and high price for food, I’m not so sure I will return any time soon.

Started with the Nitro chocolate porter… Delicious! Had the Louisiana BBQ shrimp and the cod fish and chips. The shrimp we’re wonderful full of flavor with a spicy kick. The fish & chips were good. I really liked the slaw side and the homemade tarter. Well done! We sat outside on the new picnic tables. Katie was very nice and a pleasure. For the first time here we were impressed and definitely be back! Thanks!

I reeeeealy want to give this place a 5 star. Unfortunately I can’t. The food here is really good, not to many items on the menu, but consistently good. Service is «excellent» and I mean that when I say it. The Décor is nice, and it looks clean. My favorite is grandmas candy dish on the way out. All in all a really nice Vancouver spot. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is the noise level. I don’t think there is enough sound deadening material.

Surprise! Surprise! Especially surprising if you knew the property’s history. Food and drinks impressed and service just friendly all around. Try their seasonal specialty drinks. I had a berry mojito with vodka(ewww rum). Insanely good. My bf had the Vantucky Mule. If you like burbon and ginger beer, it’s a winner. The food better than good and definitely not traditional pub fare. They took pub food up a couple notches and got creative. Live music Saturday nights, kids welcome specific hours on the restaurant side. Mine wouldn’t like, but that’s what childfree time is about! Location is just weird. That’s why I didn’t have high expectations… but walk in the door and the industrial décor lures you in to belly up to the bar.

Great spot for beers & appetizers! Try the smothered fries, you’ll be glad you did! Crispy fries, black pepper chicken gravy, cheese & green onions. It’s all about the gravy! We also ordered the cornmeal sausage poppers, w/German style sausage, so simple, yet so good. Next came totopos, fresh cooked corn tortillas tossed in salsa, topped w/crema, onions & cilantro. We are definitely going back.

MUSTGO.(Please read!) I’d been here in the past when this place was a dirty disgusting dive bar and Ive got to say, man, what an upgrade! Food: Everything was perfect! We ordered whiskey sours, margaritas, cornmeal sausages, bacon wrapped jalapeños, and their house burger and fries. Now when I say perfect, I mean PERFECT. Drinks were strong, food was tasty and hot, and everything was quick. Environment: Clean, classy, modern, and cozy. The music selection was even spot on for the décor. Waitstaff & Service: From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles. Our waitress Jess was excellent. She was helping between 25 – 30 people during the duration of our visit and she made sure everyone was properly fed, watered(or spirited) with a smile on her face and a cheerful attitude. All-in-all, our visit was excellent and we will definitely be back.

Went in for lunch today and wasn’t expecting the sleek interior from the modest low-key exterior. From the parking lot, it isn’t much to look at, but please don’t judge a book… The restaurant/bar has a rustic feel. Wood slatted walls, candle lit tables, a plush leather couch and some antlers anchored to a focal wall make this place feel homey and warm. We ordered a wedge salad, the turkey sandwich lunch special(flat-top grilled sliced turkey breast slices layered with gooey cheese, caramelized onions, and roasted red peppers on toasted sourdough bread) with crispy fries, and two handcrafted cocktails. My margarita had fresh squeezed lime juice, agave syrup, silver tequila and a chile salt rim. Delicious! There is an abbreviated menu of items to choose from, but you can tell that each dish is seriously well thought out – no superfluous decision-making necessary here. Cannot wait to get back there to try the salmon BLT and bacon wrapped jalapeños…or possibly a plateful of fries covered in chicken gravy, green onions and cheese… or the homemade chicken and dumplings! The first impression was a very good one.
