We went in on the Groupon on a quiet Friday night. The table before us got cooked fried rice on the hot plate, we weren’t so lucky, we had uncle bens garden rice from the microwave with our meal. I don’t think the ‘chef’ could have cooked it on the grill, very limited in the frozen foods he could do. It was a disappointment, it seems like it was good ~2008 and then the parents handed it to their kids and its gone down hill fast. No wonder theres a groupon out there for this place. First and last time, uncle bens rice with a $ 24 meal, no thanks.

It’s a okay spot. Food is pretty decent. I will agree over priced. Hostess doesn’t seem very happy . Every time I have gone it’s been durning lunch and no one was in there. Was changed almost 4 extra Dollars to add a clump of nasty Noodles. Wasn’t impressed this time.

Basic not huge portions — prices a little high for what you get. But it’s healthier dinning option. Nice people. Dated old carpet.

I have been to several of these Japanese themed Benihana style restaurants over the years. I have been to this one several times just because it is pretty close to my house :) Each time I have been here it has been a pleasant experience and the bill has been reasonable. The food is well prepared and the ambiance of the place is decent. It is a little dark inside but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It is always a fun time having your chef flipping the knives around and such. It’s like a dinner show, literally ;)

I went here recently for a dinner with friends. Wait staff was friendly but somewhat aloof, we ordered the vegetable tempura and it was horrible. For 7 dollars, we got 2 tiny pieces of brocolli, 2 tiny mushrooms, 1 onion ring, 2 slices of zucchini and believe it or not…2 pieces of lettuce. This is the first time I have ever had lettuce in my tempura. It was greasy and soggy and barely any quantity for its price. The hibachi chef was very impersonal, no tricks, or anything entertaining. We will not be back here again, overpriced and poor quality.

We went ahead and made a reservation as recommended but it was for Monday night and when we got there the restaurant was empty and we had a quiet romantic dinner, just the two of us :-). The staff was very friendly but it was very quiet and cool in the restaurant. We noticed that the tables were very sticky and that there were food on the walls from where maybe the cooks had splashed food. The quality of the food was very good and it didn’t take long for the preparation of our meals, probably because it was just the two of us. I think we will go back there again, the price was average for what you would expect from a Japanese about your style type restaurants such as Benihana. A disappointing part was that they’re soft drinks were $ 1.95 each with no refills so if you wanted more ice tea or something in addition to drink you will pay another $ 1.95.

First time eating here and last time. The food is too expensive for the amount you get. We decided to go here for entertainment. There was none. We just got someone that cooked the food and someone else’s food for take out. Such a disappointment. I would not recommend this place. My husband ordered scallops and shrimps. They literately counted how many scallops they cooked. Because the cook was so busy trying to cook the take out food, by the time we got our food it was cold.

All I can was is gross! Wish I didn’t even have to give 1 star it was that bad! The chicken was so disgusting we couldn’t even take another bite, not sure why it was that why maybe freezer burn definitely not the right taste or texture?! Texture The rice wasn’t your traditional fried rice, they call it seasoned rice it was ok but not your traditional fried rice like other teapan places. And there sodas are no free refills what place doesn’t do that anymore? I personally would suggest any other teapan place! Don’t waste your money! The lady serving us needs to work somewhere else, when we asked her something she seemed to have a problem with us asking? Like that wasn’t her job? Maybe us being the only ones there should have been a hint…

We love good teppanyaki and this place is good. Very fresh seafood, the steak was tender and flavorful and the veggies fresh. Will definitely be back.

Worst place I have ever taking my family out to eat. The hostess was very rude. And I’m pretty sure a racist, the food portions were tiny, the food was very mediocre, and way overpriced for what it was. Do yourself a favor and skip this place… Even with a groupon it was a complete waste of time and money

I recently moved to Portland and have been searching for a good Japanese Steak House. I tried Osaka House, it was good. I decided to give it another try and I’m glad I did, the food keeps getting better and better. I have now started going to lunch there as well. The chef(i’ve had every time) is slow but he cooks amazing(Please note if you are in a hurry skip here until you have more time) The chef is friendly and always take time to smile and say hello to my girls. The only negative I have is the bathrooms need a much needed makeover.

My son and I have been here a few times. We love love the food. However, for the amount of food you get it is very over priced. But, we love the cook and continue to come back. Always looking for Groupon or Unilocal coupons!

We love japanese steak and we thought we’d give a local, non-corporate place a try. Big mistake. The prices are on par with Benihana but that’s where the similarity ends. We came in at 7:30 on Sunday night. One table was just getting started and another was just finishing. After waiting about 45 minutes for our turn with the one and only chef on duty, we were given a tiny bowl of lukewarm, premade rice. The chef then proceeded to prepare our meal. There was no «show»… No theatrics, no chit chat. He just cooked it and then left. The portions of steak and shrimp were tiny– about half or a bit more than half of what you would get at Benihana(keeping in mind the prices are about the same). The steak was tough and sopping with teriyaki sauce. The veggies were undercooked. We were lucky to get 5 words out of our hostess the whole time. No cocktail menu and soda was $ 1.95 with no refills. They have one thing going for them… The plum wine was pretty tasty. Will not return.

Bad. Overpriced. Lame. Boring. the place was empty on a Friday night, that should have been our first clue of what was about to come. The chef was a 1 trick pony, did the onion volcano in very robotic fashion… that was it, none of other normal tricks and banter that you’d expect at a place like this… the food was not good. the service was odd… just awkward. We were still wondering why the ‘chef’ cooked the food in the order he did… the portions were small… unfortunately not a great experience. wont be back.

This is one of my favorite local Japanese steakhouse restaurants. The filet mignon and shrimp is consistently delicious. Jose is a fantastic chef who makes the experience fun and cooks the food to perfection. I recommend Osaka for lunch or dinner.

Good food and the service was fast when we were there. Great for Vancouver! I recommend the New York steak and Shrimp. Great rice. If your in the area would recommend. My nine year olds favorite restaurant. Very friendly.

This is a step up from«sushi go round». If you want fast and fresh sushi then it’s the place for you. It seems to be a bit on the pricey side because you have a set price, but we’ve ALWAYS spent at least $ 15 a piece at the«go-round», and lord knows much, much more at a nicer sushi restaurant! When we went it clearly wasn’t a busy day, I’m sure they have them! Definitely worth giving it a shot.
