I used to go to the Popeyes in Tacoma when I lived in Seattle. The food at this location in Vancouver is completely different. I was so excited to have a Popeyes so close to me when I moved to Vancouver. I have tried this location twice in case they were having an off day the first time. The food there is terrible. The chicken is dried out and is very similar to what you get a grocery store. The mac and cheese was flavorless and inedible because of a weird texture. The beans and rice was 80% rice. I will not be back.

Popeyes should research this franchise. I love Popeyes chicken but this location is bad representation. Just tried them once again. Repeated my order at least three times and got home with the wrong side dishes. They not only have the slowest service they are obviously do not have good management. I have been there at least 6 times(slow learner) and it only seems to get worse. Order messed up stale dry chicken I’ve tried it all. This is a shame because every location I have been to in Portland is excellent. Will not return to this location EVER. Good luck in the future.

Came in a 11:45 during my lunch break. After waiting 10 min for my single item, an employee came and told me they did not have penny mild chicken. But I would have to wait an additional 3 minutes, or take the spicy I ended up taking a spicy cuz I had to get back to work. She should have told me this 10 minutes prior. On top of that it tasted dried out and old. Very disappointed with the service today

I have a bias, like most, that I expect minimally decent food and service and am willing to complain when it is significantly below expectations. OK…went to Popeyes tonight at 9:45 pm and the doors were locked. I looked at the sticker on the door and it said«Lobby closed at 10 pm». To make matters worse, the employee sweeping up the dining area refused to acknowledge my presence at the door. A customer in the store actually opened the door for me… we had a quick conversation that it was NOT10 pm. The manager on duty stated that she had«permission» to close up early due to training a employee on closing. She also stated that the reason they had to close early is that the trainee was a high school student and cannot work past 10 pm. If they cannot work past 10 pm, then why are you training them to close? Read the other reviews about service at this restaurant… IMHO, there are just too many other restaurants in the area that actually want my money.

It’s the worst service ever, at every time I say I will never come back and do come back and say I’ll give them another chance but actually every time they are wrong with the order like without exaggerating probably that’s the seventh time I get home and the order is wrong and I’ve been there only 10 times probably in my life and seven of them was wrong order.

Okay it’s fast food everyone! Our food is always hot, comes pretty quick and the employees are really nice! Plus if you take your survey that’s on the back of your receipt you get two pieces of chicken and a biscuit for just $ 2.48(price of the large beverage you must order). I am usually not a fan of quick take out– but my boyfriend and I have alway had a good experience here

I have been to this location several times since it opened, the last two were this evening and about a month ago. In the visit a month ago I had my wife along, we ordered food for 5 people and ended up waiting 25 minutes for the food. About 15 minutes in after being sent to the front to wait for our food instead of waiting in the drive through my wife goes in asking questions with me tagging along. Turns out they have given our food to someone else by mistake and have to make it again. It has been typical to wait a long time at this location for my food, by a long time I am talking 15+ minutes, this one took the cake so to speak. Tonight I went back cringing and was pleasantly surprised to find only one car in the drive through. You can imagine my frustration to hear that they were out of mild chicken tenders at 6:00PM until the next shipment. I have been a Popeye’s fan for almost 30 days when I would get it from a location in NE Portland. This location seems to have challenges to say the least, I initially thought it was start-up problems when they first opened. I suspect it goes much deeper.

Had to wait out front for nearly 10 minutes on two occasions. They forgot both the drink and the side for my order.

I have no idea what the hype is with Popeyes… Out of curiosity, my wife and i decided to try it based off of friends and neighbors recommendations. I place the fried chicken somewhere between grocery store and KFC. I give All side items the same rating except for the biscuits(they are pretty decent). Service was good and up to par with what i would expect from fast food drive thru. Bottom line… Hold your expectations to a bare minimum and expect typical grocery store(safeway, albertsons) chicken and sides!

Avoided this place after the bad reviews, but appetite got the better of me again!(Never heard that before, right?) Actually pretty decent. I mean it’s fried chicken, so it just has to meet expectations, and it’s a chain, so it just needs to be consistent. And it’s in my neighborhood, so it has to be clean and friendly. I’m OK here, no complaints: I came for spicy, tasty, simple fried chicken, good mashed potatoes, no frills, decent price, and they have wifi and a power strip. Done.

I work the night shift. I got off work and my boyfriend had some friends over and asked if I would swing through and get some chicken. They closed at 1 and it was 12:40. I ordered a 12 piece original. The woman(Diane) at the drive thru told me «we close in 20 min and the chicken takes 25 minutes, you can do tenders only.» So I tell her I’ve come through before at this time and never had a problem. She said«we already put the flour and everything away». I called the next day to see if this was policy(so I know when I get off work I don’t have time to get chicken) The manager«Brandi» told me it’s not policy and they are supposed to cook chicken UNTIL1am. The owner was supposed to call me back to offer me something but never did and I won’t hold my breath after reading the other reviews.

It makes me TERRIBLYSAD to say that I can only give this restaurant 1 star… When I lived in Portland(about 8 years ago) Popeye’s was one of my favorite eateries and ABSOLUTELY my best and first choice for fried chicken. When I heard they were opening a couple of locations here in Vancouver I was overjoyed! Well…We have now tried BOTH of the Vancouver locations a total of THREE times and it is NOT anything like the Popeye’s that I loved for so many years in Portland; The chicken pieces were small, had very little meat and were VERY dry. When I tried it the first time I thought that maybe, since they had just opened, they needed some time to bring the product up to snuff… but no, we’ve visited two more times and it’s just plain BAD. Judging by what others have said it appears that the Popeye’s chain in general may have lowered the quality and standards that they once had. VERY disappointing indeed.

This Popeyes has been open for a few years and it is literally 2 mins away from my house, yet I never made a stop until today. It was my cheat day(started a pseudo-paleo diet) and I wanted fried chicken. The only KFC in Vancouver closed down while I was away at college… so Popeyes it is! The food was good but I can’t say it’s amazing. I ordered the Louisiana Trio with spicy tenders. I don’t think there is that much of a difference compared to the Oregon locations, although the spicy here isn’t spicy… the chicken also seemed a little drier, perhaps wasn’t freshly cooked? Still better than McDonald’s though! Oh the biscuit was pretty good, but I let myself only have 2 bites since I’m staving off grains :(( It’s fast fried chicken people, not sure why people are complaining because one should not be expecting 5-star food or service at a fast food joint?! Did have to wait a bit longer than expected for a drive-thru. But the cashier was friendly and smiley so props to her! :)

This is so sad, not only this store, but all the Popeye’s changed their recipes and their chicken taste way over done, dry and nasty. And to top it off, the managers and corporate office could care less. Many people have called them and they just don’t care. Thank goodness they can not compete with the grocery stores prices and freshness, but no one has a good spicy, YET! Don’t throw your money away, they don’t care, why should you?

I’ve been to this location a few times during different hours, so here is my objective review based on past 3 visits. First of all, when they first opened, this was the only place I want to go to eat fried chicken. The chicken are always fresh, service was quick and friendly, and it appears they don’t let their chicken sit under the heat lamp for long before making up a new batch. I’ve watched because there is no greater sin than getting overcooked, oily fried chicken. The past 3 visits, in March and April, were honestly disastrous. My order of spicy chicken was noticeably been sitting for a while. The chicken has taken on that dark, crusty appearance in the meat, and the skin started to render and turned soggy. But at this point I was back at work so I chalked it up to a fluke. Second time I was with my son. An order of spicy fried chicken and 5 piece chicken tenders were made and delivered after a brief wait in the parking lot. We figured«oh boy, fresh chicken!» When we got home my chicken was again soggy, but the chicken tenders were fresh. What was missing were the ranch dipping sauce and honey. Third and likely the final time was tonight(real time review). We went through the drive through to get an order of 8 piece chicken tenders and one of their all new Rip’n Chicken. There was no one in the dining room or drive through, mind you. We made sure to ask for ranch and honey, but was told they were out of ranch. Interesting, who does their stocking? Okay, we’re not jerks, we can settle for sweet mustard and sweet heat sauce instead. We were asked to pull to the front and wait. During the 15 minute wait(not kidding here, it took that long) we watched two workers play fight, holding the front door shut so the other one can’t get in, and a worker walk outside to smoke. A bit unprofessional, but I was young and worked at Burgerville once, and it’s no big deal. But it does add a bit to the irritation factor when I’m sitting there waiting for what I thought is over long. Food arrives, and my wife insists on checking — she take out all the food, opens each bag and box while I say rolling my eyes. Voila! The chicken tenders were a box of regular fried chicken, no Rip’n chicken, and no honey. We go inside(defeating the purpose of a drive through) and the manager(Lindy) gave us a very nonchalant attitude — no apologies, but she did offer an excuse«oh I just packed it up wrong!» Someone in the back scrambles up a replacement, and we figured they must got the order right. Wrong. We got home, and open the bag. Sauce, check. Tenders, check. Honey, check. Where is the Rip’n chicken we waited for? Not there. I pick up the phone and called, asked for the manager. Lindy answers and says she is the manager and sounded irritated as I explained the situation. I asked for money back, but was offered that they would replace my order next time. She took my name and said to bring the receipt next time. Long story short, the chicken quality has been lacking greatly since when they first opened. 3 visits at 3 different times and I’ve got old chicken or missing orders. I honestly don’t write bad reviews, but this time I thought I warn any potential visitors. Check and double check your order. Open each box, make sure the chicken is fresh. Carl Jr down on 164th has hand dipped chicken finger just as good. And if you must have fried chick, the Popeyes on Sandy Blvd consistently churn our the good stuff.

Popeye’s finally splashed down in the Couve! And what’s this… only 2 other Unilocal reviews, both 1 star??? Main complaint I’ve heard from the locals about this place is that it’s always so friggin’ busy it’s hard to get through there and back to work in the space of your allotted lunch time. Though indeed quite busy, I’ve cruised right through the drive through both times, and the service was friendly and downright snappy! Oh yeah: the fixin’s were just so doggone good though! Tasted like it’d all been cooked in very fresh oil… not the 40 wt. sludge that you’re likely to find in other places(*wood village, kaff kaff*)… Take the Popeye’s challenge: Buy one of their 10 piece for 9.99 boxes and take it to work, and see how long that sucker lasts. 1 star, yeah right.

THEFOODISFINEIFYOUGETWHATYOUORDERANDWAITLONGENOUGH. We have eaten at Popeyes over the years and the food quality was as expected but there was no attention to customer service. I ordered 2 «naked» chicken strip dinners and the person only entered 1. We then did the order again to get the second order. Then about 10 minutes later, the first order was ready with the wrong chicken. The person behind the counter fixed the problem and my wife got her lunch. I then waited an additional 10 minutes to get my order. It, also, was wrong. It wasn’t for another 10 – 15 minutes before I got the order. By then, my wife had finished her meal and was waiting for me. The restaurant was not that busy at this time. They were too focused on getting the big batch of traditional fried chicken finished and had totally ignored the customer. Mistakes do happen, but a good restaurant would have empowered their employees to at least exploit the mistake by offering some alternative for the customer to sample while waiting. I am not one for asking for freebies, but waiting with nothing for 20 minutes or so watching my wife eat definitely led to an unpleasant experience.

GOTOHAZELDELLORNOPO — JUSTDON’T GOHERE! Well after a long wait to open — as in delayed, notes left on the door they would be open Nov 1st. Nov 1st, not open — another sign they will open the 3rd or 4th — Nope, just a Sorry, Opening Soon sign. Finally went on the 8th — OPEN! Well, $ 100 later on two separate trips and I finally know why they couldn’t open sooner. Apparently finding someone to distinguish pieces of chicken that have bones, to those that don’t — is incredibly hard! Sadly, they went and hired those that can’t in an attempt to open. We only like the chicken tenders — which have ROCKED at other Popeyes. Seriously, delicious! The only reason we eat there Well, first time, we received regular chicken — the second time, same mistake! Literally went on the 8th — bone in chicken(paid for tenders) — today the 15th received bone in chicken(paid for tenders). Who knew!!! Seriously — how hard is that to figure out? They do not look remotely the same — to me. Perhaps I need to apply for a job there — I can figure out the difference between a boneless chicken tender and regular bone in. I just don’t know how you can’t figure that out. Oh well, hubby is kicking himself for not checking but after the LONG wait in the line, he figured it was accurate. He says he will be back — cause truly if you can ever get your hands on the boneless mild chicken tenders, they rock. But me, no thanks! I’m so over this Popeyes! If you can’t get the main item right(it’s even in your name Popeyes CHICKEN), I don’t know that I need to bother. Update: Tried to use our credit that hubby had received from his complaint from our experience on the 15th, for a football gathering we were having. Although his name was in the book — no notes or amount and William didn’t know what to do. So I paid for our new order and left. Funny thing, food is honestly not as good as other locations. Since we had it at our party, it became a topic of discussion, our guests went on to share how they have had mistake after mistake and in their words — the quality is just not the same. The breading on everything is over the top, the chicken breasts were smaller than they have had at other’s etc etc. The tenders we got, were dried out and way over breaded. We will definitely drive if we want Popeyes, which at this point will not be for a long time. Hubby is even irritated at this point, with this location. I can’t believe I was excited about this locale, I am hoping either another franchise owner that knows what they are doing steps in or they go out of business. Just to clarify — Popeyes good. .. this location bad bad bad.
