Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids

Cami cut my sons hair and did a fantastic job! Thank you so much! We’ll be back! Also I just posted for my sister. Koko refuses to get her hair cut but The assistant manager was able to trim her hair and did a great job explaining why it’s so important!

I called and made a last minute appointment. They booked me right away even though they were closing in about 30 mins or so. I have a wonderful lady named Desiree as my stylist for the evening. It was my daughter’s first hair cut and Desiree made sure it was special for me. My daughter sat in a Barbie jeep while Desiree did her hair. My daughter is 3 and so you can imagine how still she actually sat. Desiree was very patient and my daughter was comfortable with her. She gave her a trim and some bangs, sprayed some glitter in her hair and put it up into a cute twisty style.
There were plenty of things to distract my daughter to help her sit still (the best that toddlers can) There was a tv at each cutting station and she also got to play with the barbie jeep she was sitting in. Desiree cut and styled my daughter’s hair very quickly. When she was done my daughter got her photo taken. I got the photo printed out right then along with a first haircut certificate, a lock of her hair in a baggie and a balloon. I will definitely continue to take my daughter there and when my son is ready he will get his first cut done there as well.

I agree with Curtis. I just came from this place and they wouldn’t let my son get a haircut. The sign said «come in we’re open». It was 5:35 and they’re supposed to close at 6. There were no other customers and three employees just sitting around. I know why there were no other customers now… When do they «actually» close as far as not accepting customers while keeping their sign and doors unlocked? 5:30? 5:25? It would’ve taken them maybe 10 minutes to cut his hair.
Update… I couldn’t finish my review because I was too busy driving to Great Clips by Home Depot off of 192^nd where they took my son right away, he had a great haircut, and I didn’t pay an outrageous price! I actually just drove by Sharkey’s yesterday afternoon and no one was inside. I’m glad. I hope they go out of business. Any place that denies service to customers a half hour before they are supposed to close because they’re too lazy to do their job, so that they can leave right at closing shouldn’t be in business. If your sign says «open» you should be open for business, not open to turn away customers. Don’t go here.

We’ve been to Sharkey’s twice now. We had a bad experience the first time, but thought I’d give them another we chance and maybe it was a fluke. But it wasn’t. I like to make our appts for first thing in the morning because I have two kids and it just makes things easier to get appts out of the way. Both time we showed up about 5 min before opening and no one was there. No one showed up till a couple min after they were supposed to open. I do not like lateness especially for a business. They weren’t ready to start for awhile. They lady who cut his hair walked in 10 min after they opened and was way rough with my son. He was not quite two at the time and had never had clippers before and she just went to town without any warning. He got scared and was freaked out the remainder of his appt. She did an ok job but I will not be going back after they show up late and are rough with little kids. I will be going back to Lil’ Snippers. The only reason I gave Sharkey’s a try was because Lil’ Snippers is hard to get an apt and Sharkey’s is not at all. I would not recommend taking young kids here.

Naomi did a great job cutting my 16 months old baby’s hair. She’s very patient and know how to deal with curious kids. The place is great, clean and staff are helpful.
Update: unfortunately Naomi doesn’t work here anymore and the lady who cut my son’s hair, did an ok job. I’ll try different salon next time.

I have visited twice in the last year. Including yesterday 8÷11÷14. Both experiences have been fabulous.
The first with my son last year at 10, trying to convince him the need of a haircut was failing horribly. Once he learned he could play minecraft at Sharkey’s while getting a haircut he was convinced!
She did a great job then and I was very happy.
Yesterday’s experience with my twin 7 year old girls was just as great as their first visit as well. They have been begging to back since. They are one if the few places that do tinsel in the hair or fun colorful extensions for my girls I can find. They love the manicure as well that comes with the cost if the haircut, along with styling of their choice.
I got a call when I was there, my time was more precious then I realized, and suddenly had to be home and print tickets to an event and have someone there in less then an hour! I panicked. Not wanting to have my girls’ fun day be spoiled.
The stylist allowed me kindly to use their printer. Did a quick and accurate job, including 2 colorful extensions on each girls hair. She did a fabulous job on both girls hair and they loved their nails.
I can’t splurge all the time with the cost of 3 kids. So our 2 times a year visit is quite fun fir them. Honestly, this experience as was before, a memory in their childhood they will remember among many. And that’s important.

I took both my kids (11 and 8) here for haircuts. The staff was professional, friendly, and on time. I was honestly shocked to see these bad reviews. The price is a little steep but worth it for all the extras (Minecraft, balloons, lollipop, and manicure for my daughter). My kids loved it!

Went to this location instead of our usually Lil Sniper’s because a co worker mentioned it. It was the worst haircut my son has had. I can’t believe I paid $ 20+ for it. The t.v. in front of his car chair didn’t play movies, the car itself had a broken handle and was dirty. Not like dirty from hair but from grime, as if it hasn’t been wiped down in awhile. Besides all of that if the haircut it self was good then I wouldn’t be writing this, but it wasn’t. The clippers she was using must of been old because it wasn’t cutting his hair. She had to keep going back and forth. My son has alot of patience but even so he is 2 ½. I said something about it to her. She said it was because she sprayed his hair with water. I just thought, then why did you spray it? She didn’t seem to know how to make it clean cut around his ears and sideburns area. It is still uneven. I had to ask her to go over the area again. Finally I said, okay it’s good, just for it to be over. My son enjoys getting his hair cut and towards the end which took way longer than it should he was getting a pained look on his face. To top it off, there was no toys to play with after. We will not be going back.

Took my daughter in at 5:40 pm on a Saturday to get her haircut. They said that they stop taking girl haircuts around 520 or 530. Didn’t see that on the website!!! Oh well saved me from an overly expensive haircut. We will find a better place to go.

Prices are a bit steep, but they do a wonderful job of distracting your kiddos while quickly as humanly possible cutting their hair. All the while, still managing to be patient and sweet to your wiggly (and possibly screaming) child.

Twice we had come here for a scheduled appointment only to wait for over an hour past it. We decided to give them one last tried and when we arrived for our 3^rd appointment we were told an employee called in sick (not the one we were scheduled with though). They had decided to squeeze everyone in and had moved our appointment back 2 hours without calling us. We live over 20 minutes away. They did not apologize in any of these situations. We will not return.

Amazing place! Great staff, immaculate, well priced, and my kids love it! The environment is great for boys and girls of all ages! Definitely going back!

All I can say is Wow! My wife and I went to the Grand Opening and this place has everything that will keep my son occupied while getting his haircut. Fun Buzz Light Year Chairs, video games and TV’s for the adults. The little girls seems to like the glamour room they have too. Naomi was really nice and did an awesome job cutting my son’s hair. We will be taking our son to Sharkey’s every month!

Amazing eye catching interiors, fantastic music, fun loving friendliest staff, great party package, kids really were jumping in happiness from the moment they stepped in. Cars and cartoons, Xbox and ps3, lots of fun stuff all included in the package. I can vote this place as a best mini picnic place for kids once a month, don’t forget to request a tour to the back of the salon, visit the tween lounge in the back. Best treat any tween can ever imagine.
